Ozymandias

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Intent: To flesh out the ritualistic elements of the Sith Order's First Legion
Role:
The Maledicti will be used as a variant of shock troopers to support First Legion invasions, especially when the intention is to cause great harm to the enemy and its defenses. These units will be a 'horrific' result of being taking captive by the Sith Order's First Legion, and will be expanded upon during each of their invasions.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Unit Name: First Legion Auxiliary V, 'The Maledicti'
Affiliation:
The First Legion
The Sith Order
Classification: Monstrous Shock TroopersDescription:
The Maledicti are twisted, horrifying abominations, living weapons created through dark Sith rituals known as the Ritual of Conjunction. Each Maledictus was once a powerful Jedi, traitor Sith, or defiant prisoner, now transformed into a monstrous fusion of body and spirit—forever at war with itself and utterly insane.
Notable Appearance:
Their bodies are grotesquely mutilated, scarred, and covered in chaotic runes burned deeply into pale, sickly flesh. Elongated limbs end in vicious Sith-alchemically forged claws capable of shredding armor, and their forms are often hunched or contorted unnaturally. Occasionally, their own bones visibly twist, snap, and reshape mid-combat, forming jagged, impromptu weapons. Eyes glow ominously with unstable crimson or sickly yellow light.
Emblem:
Though they carry no formal emblem, Maledicti bear ritualistic runes and sigils carved into their skin, glowing faintly in battle—symbols of their cursed creation.
General Mindset & Behavior:
Completely mad, Maledicti whisper continuously to themselves—phrases such as "I'm not wicked… I'm not," or unintelligible ramblings of forbidden truths. They are utterly consumed by rage, pain, and spiritual turmoil, incapable of reason, compassion, or strategic thought. Driven solely by destructive impulses, they seek only to maim, kill, and destroy, with no distinction between enemy and ally. Their terrifying presence serves as both psychological warfare and physical devastation incarnate.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
Unit Size: Small | 1-3 Individuals per Deployment
Maledicti are extremely dangerous, volatile, and difficult to control. They are deployed individually or in small clusters, never in large numbers, due to the immense risk and difficulty involved in their creation, containment, and retrieval. Each individual Maledictus is powerful enough to wreak significant havoc on its own, making larger groupings unnecessary and impractical.
Unit Availability: Rare
Maledicti are extraordinarily difficult and costly to create, requiring specialized prisoners, forbidden rituals, and significant investment of time and resources. Coupled with the high attrition rate during both creation and deployment, they remain extremely limited assets, replenished only through great difficulty and at great expense.
Unit Experience: Veteran
Though utterly insane and driven by chaotic impulses, Maledicti retain the raw combat instincts, Force abilities, and muscle memory of their past selves, often derived from powerful Jedi, Sith, or experienced warriors. This lingering experience makes them devastatingly effective in combat, exhibiting veteran-level skill and ferocity, albeit without coherent strategy or discipline.
Equipment:
- Ritual Chains and Sith Restraints:
Heavy, rune-inscribed chains and manacles embedded with Sith alchemy, used to keep the Maledicti restrained and controllable until released. - Cursed Runic Bindings:
Runic markings burned or tattooed onto the skin during the creation ritual, serving as a conduit for control, amplifying rage, and tethering the infused spirits to the host body. - Minimalistic Armor and Tattered Robes:
Maledicti wear little protective gear, often limited to ceremonial scraps of armor or torn robes meant to signify their cursed state rather than provide real defense. - Force-imbued Talismans (embedded):
Small talismans forcibly grafted into their flesh or bones during ritual creation, amplifying their chaotic Force powers and tethering spirits to the physical realm. - No conventional weaponry:
They typically fight using augmented physical strength, raw Force powers, or improvised violence, embodying terror through savagery rather than precise weaponry.
Combat Function:
The Maledicti function as elite terror weapons designed specifically to disrupt enemy morale, formations, and defensive positions through sheer violence and psychological horror. They are deployed into the thick of combat as uncontrollable, rampaging abominations whose sole tactical objective is indiscriminate destruction.
Tactics & Habits:
- Upon release, Maledicti immediately enter a state of berserk fury, attacking the nearest enemy without regard for their safety or survival.
- They exhibit no strategic behavior beyond relentless assault, often driven purely by madness, bloodlust, or impulses from the spirits inhabiting them.
- Maledicti habitually whisper, mutter, or scream incoherent or chilling phrases, heightening psychological terror among enemy troops.
- Maledicti operate independently once unleashed, requiring no direct command but careful timing and placement by the Obsecrati handlers.
- They serve as aggressive shock units, breaking enemy cohesion, drawing heavy fire, and creating openings for regular Imperial forces to exploit.
- Retrieval attempts post-combat require specialized units and intense ritualistic preparation, emphasizing their dangerous nature and lack of conventional battlefield control.
Force Abilities (Force User Units Only):
- Chaotic Force Rage:
Uncontrollable bursts of dark-side-enhanced strength, agility, and resilience, fueling their berserker state and allowing them to ignore wounds that would fell normal soldiers. - Aura of Madness:
A constant, passive ability that radiates extreme dread, fear, and psychological torment, destabilizing enemy troops within proximity and potentially driving weaker minds to panic or madness. - Force Scream:
Unleashes devastating, unhinged Force-enhanced screams capable of stunning, disorienting, or physically injuring those nearby. - Corrupting Presence:
Their presence subtly warps the environment around them, creating unnatural phenomena like flickering lights, shadows that twist unnaturally, or spontaneous hallucinations, increasing battlefield confusion. - Forbidden Knowledge:
Occasionally displays fragments of disturbing or forbidden knowledge, uttering chilling truths or cryptic phrases that can psychologically unsettle and demoralize enemies—especially Jedi or Force-sensitive adversaries. - Unnatural Regeneration:
Maledicti can rapidly regenerate even severe injuries through dark-side corruption. Severed limbs may grotesquely reattach mid-combat, and otherwise lethal wounds close quickly, making them exceptionally resilient and difficult to kill permanently. - Sith Alchemical Mutations:
Through dark Sith alchemy, their bodies have been brutally modified to include elongated, vicious claws capable of tearing through armor, flesh, and bone with terrifying ease. Some Maledicti are further twisted to the extent that they can deliberately break and reshape their own bones mid-combat, creating grotesque, jagged weapons from their own skeletons to impale or slash their foes.
Strengths:
- Unstoppable Fury:
Maledicti fight with relentless aggression, enhanced physical prowess, and a disregard for pain, making them devastatingly effective at breaking enemy lines and morale. - Psychological Terror:
Their horrifying presence, chilling whispers, and chaotic Force abilities instill extreme fear, confusion, and panic among enemy troops, greatly enhancing their disruptive effectiveness on the battlefield.
- Uncontrollable Madness:
Maledicti are entirely uncontrollable once unleashed, incapable of discerning friend from foe, and pose severe risks of friendly-fire casualties or unintended collateral damage. - Reliance on Ritual Control:
They require extensive ritualistic preparation, continuous containment measures, and specialized handlers (the Obsecrati). If these measures fail, the resulting chaos can turn catastrophic, endangering entire operations and the units tasked with containing them.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Maledicti were first conceived by Darth Empyrean in his relentless pursuit of weapons capable of shattering the enemy both physically and psychologically. Inspired by dark whispers from the Worm Emperor and ancient Sith practices, Empyrean commissioned his most loyal alchemists, Sith ritualists, and scholars of the forbidden to create a new breed of living terror—weapons born from the corrupted souls and broken bodies of captured Jedi, traitors, and particularly defiant prisoners.
After numerous grotesque experiments, the process known as the Ritual of Conjunction was perfected, forcibly infusing powerful captives with chaotic Sith spirits, fragmented entities from the Netherworld, and sometimes the chilling essence of Starweirds themselves. These rites twisted their hosts into violent, regenerating horrors driven solely by madness and a hunger for destruction.
Their combat debut occurred at the notorious Burning of Makem Ti, where their savage ferocity, resilience, and psychological impact proved devastatingly effective, breaking entrenched positions and causing enemy morale to collapse instantly. News of their atrocities spread quickly, cementing the Maledicti as feared instruments of terror in the galaxy.
However, tragedy struck during an operation aboard an Alliance Spacestation when containment failed spectacularly, causing the Maledicti to massacre their own handlers and allies, nearly losing the Empire critical strategic positions. This disastrous event underscored their danger not just to enemies, but also to their own forces, leading to tighter control and careful deployment strategies.
Now, Maledicti are sparingly deployed from isolated facilities deep within Sith territory. They remain among Darth Empyrean's most feared—and volatile—weapons, their mere existence symbolizing the ruthless extremes the Empire will embrace to ensure dominance and spread terror throughout the galaxy.
This is AI written, but its my ideas. Sue me, I'm lazy and don't want to write all this out.
