Demonsgate

Whoever thought the Starchaser-teen would be on an aide and relief group? Certainly not Bibs, her BB8 unit. "Shhh. Stop it! So what if we're multitasking? We ARE going to help people. There WAS a battle here. We get to mingle with other undergrounders."

Bibs gave off a razzle.

"No you karking watch YOUR mouth. Well oooooooh, who are you gonna tell?"

Starchaser blue eyes rolled, a smile flickering across a set of full lips as her booted-feet crunched across the gravel road, further away from her ship and toward the gathering underground members.

Dude, look at your face.”
Yeah… yeah, I know.”
Daaaamn. Can I-”

If you touch it, you are dead.”
Ppffft touchy.”

Gabey shook his head with one of his grins softening the previous threat. He didn’t particularly care about the bruise, really, it was just another fun story to share around drinks and friends.

But it did still hurt like a fether.

He took a sip from his drink and then shrugged.

What can I say, I got the magic touch with the ladies.”
Ha, I hope it isn’t infectious.” Davey was a good guy. A year or two younger, which would have concerned Gabe if it wasn’t for the fact that he had seen the lad fly, he was almost as good as Darn Poo. Well. Maybe he was being generous, but in a couple of years… yeah, Dave could go places.

Hey, check it.” Davey gestured with his head towards a new appearance. A droid with a pretty, pretty girl in tow.

Why don’t you go and show that girl your magic touch, huh?

Gabriel rolled his eyes.

Maybe I will!
Maybe you should.”
Maybe I- you know what? I think I will!” Just then one of the waiters - a peculiarly cheery wookiee dropped off two drinks for Davey and him. Gabriel being Gabriel immediately got a hold of both drinks and went on his merry way towards Kinsey, ignoring the barely suppressed Hey!

Dave could probably get himself a new drink.

Hey Blue,” on account for her blue eyes, of course. “How you doing?

Yeahhh, yeah, Gabey, nice. Smooth. Always ask a girl how she is doing first, they like that. It’s all about showing them that you got the ability to care, empathetically they call that with a fancy word.

Bibs gave off a whistle. Kins looked up at blondie with the shades. "Oh, he is talking to me," she side-mouthed to the BB8 unit. A brilliant smile flashed between her lips. The kind of smile known to melt even the hearts of droids.

"Hey," dazzling smile widened. "You with the Underground meet and greet crew here?"

She was definitely in the right place. He had to be, right? "I'm Kinsey Starchaser and this is Bibs," thumb hooked off her right side. Blue-eyes narrowed slightly. "You definitely have something on your face, though." Index finger extended to hover just above that shiner. Her fingers were grease-smudged from the work she put into her ship, earlier. Pilot. Mechanic. Heart-throb extraordinaire.

Bibs warbled and rolled around them.

"Shhh. Be polite."

Oooh, her smile, Gabey. Stay focused! You are money, she knows it, you know it, hell even good ol’ Davey out there knows it. You good. You fly. Look at that smile, she already likes you.

Straight up money.

"Comes with the job I am afraid." Gabriel replied matter-of-factly, before observing the finger being prodded in his direction. It was a bit greasy on the sides, but other than that a perfectly healthy finger. So Gabriel did the only reasonable thing available to him and that was gingerly taking her finger in his hand and giving it a little shake.

"Nice to meet you, Blue. Gabriel, Gabey or Shiner - any of ‘em is solid enough for me." Followed by. "And yeah, we all Undergrounders here."

"Drink?"

Letting her finger go Gabey offered her the second glass and his own brand of goofy grin that made the girls go "Ahwww" and the boys "Force, he’s at it again!"

Around them the droid was still running mad circles. Every so often a very, very blunt expletive got released: it was almost as if the droid was testing out the boundaries.

Gabey pretended like he didn’t understand him… her, it. No, it’s definitely a person with that kind of vocabulary.

"Alright, Shiner," she had never met anyone that could compete with her smile. Like, totes first time. She snatched the drink he offered and went for the one in his hand. "Thanks, babe." She downed one and then went to down the other.

Girl could handle alcohol.

"I need you at your finest because I need a guide."

The air was hot, even where they were standing, well beyond the active field of volcanoes circling the city-port. It was crazy anyone would want to fight a war here of all places. She imagined the people living here were already well seasoned to rough life.

"To go out there," hand with partially finished drink circled vaguely beyond them. "I mean, during our mission of good will and aide relief, there's something I need to find along the way." Bibs came to a halt at her side.

"Yes, I think we can trust him. Just keep your sensors on those geysers." Starchaser-blue eyes looked at Gabriel. "And I promise I'll get you a drink afterward. Can I count on you?"

Gabey blinked as she took both the drinks. Then he watched quietly as she gulped both of them down like it was water, instead of a rare Verpenian Vintage Blue that really scorched the throat clean unless you were a droid or alternatively a Wookie.

Newfound respect was gleaming in his eyes.

Anyone capable of putting two drinks down of that magnitude was probably someone not to feth around with.

"Sure, that sounds…" Gabriel, too, looked out over the area around them. A landscape of sulfur, molten rock and occasionally a shuttle or two filled with Undergrounders and affiliated parties settling down.

The Underground was already busy like buzzing bees establishing their roots here and making it difficult to root them out completely.

"Fun? I guess? What are we after, Blue?"

It didn’t really pop up in his mind to question her. She was here, which meant she was an Undergrounder and the Underground were their allies, right? Whatever she wanted his help with was probably on the level - at least on Poo’s level, which was fine with him.

Besides… if there was a drink with her included?

You money, Gabey! See?! She just wants a little bit of help and then you are I-N.

"Well," she linked arms with Gabriel, flashing him another melt-your-heart and freeze the mynocks off your ship smile as she lead him toward a pair of speeder bikes. "Ever heard of the Claatuvac Guild?" Bibs warbled. "Yeah, go ahead. We'll catch up."

The BB8 unit clearly had some speed upgrades.

It razzled at Gabe. "Bibs. Just. Go." Kins spoke through clenched teeth. The droid gave off another high pitched toot before jettisoning across the rocky landscape. Unlinking her arm from Gabe's, she reached into her satchel and handed a nutrition pack to a local kid who had wandered over. Yes, yes, this was a goodwill mission and not JUST a treasure hunt.

"Sorry. I think my Uncle installed some overprotective protocols or something."

Gabriel had no idea what the girl was talking about, but that smile of hers did wonders for his decision making process and he decided to just nod heavily.

"Oh, yes. The Claatuvac Guild." He even pronounced it wrong, but that was irrelevant in his book.

All that mattered was doing something with this Claatuvac Guild and maybe… just maybe seeing that smile again.

Yeah.

"That’s cool. He’ll probably warm up to my charms after a while."

His own dazzling smile was sent accompanying those words.

"So, what are we doing again?"

The Starchaser straddled one of the speeder bikes. Oh no. This Gabriel dude had that spaced out look that some guys got around her. Maybe she needed to tone down the dazzling smiles.

Nope. Can't do.

"You're gonna show me how to get to these coordinates." The teen tossed sunglasses a comm unit. "Without getting killed by lava or sulfur. Preferably. I've got a lead on something there and I wanna check it out." It was vague but it was enough. The speeder purred beneath her.

"Now come on glasses, lead the way. I've got your back." The engines revved. He didn't need to know about the sith bounty of her head. Or her complicated past. Or her Uncle. He just needed to see her smile. Yup. Just that.
