The Mariposa is a light cargo freighter designed for one thing and one thing only: carrying cargo. Unfortunately, this ship has seen better days. Yula managed to get her hands on the light freighter after working for a few months with a small crew of smugglers in the Outer Rim—the method she used to obtain the ship is up to debate, but she was confident that no one would miss the hunk of junk. With outdated components and some parts in serious need of replacing, Yula managed to somewhat restore the ship with the help of her step-dad, [member="Vaudin Miir"].
The Mariposa is lightly armed with two ion cannons on either side of the ship and a manual laser canon mounted on top. Occasionally, the ion cannons may jam as they’re of an older model and haven’t been replaced yet. Speed and capacity are the focus of this ship, and while The Mariposa is able to boast some impressive speeds, it becomes slower at full capacity. Even at only half capacity, one should use caution when handling the ship at fast speeds given its age. The addition of an afterburner allows this ship to take off and accelerate at greater speeds at the cost of potentially destroying the engine afterwards, crashing and dying.
Much of the ship’s interior is dedicated to holding cargo; the refresher is impossibly small, personal quarters are nonexistent and the cockpit is cramped. There is no kitchen, only a few appliances plugged in at various points of the ship to heat and store food. Luckily, there are several sleeping bags available for when you need to rest—just need to find a place to put ‘em. There are several below deck areas that allow for the storage of additional cargo. The openings of these areas are carefully concealed to blend into the ship's normal flooring.
