The Mask of an Assassin

The knight stood there waiting for two people. The handsome [member="Xander Blackmoore"], and the leader of the assassins; [member="Darth Ferus"]. She sat on the grass, her dark hair tied up into a ponytail. The clouds covered the bright sky, shading her from the harshness of the sun. She was a little early, and that was only because she had gone for a run this morning. She had to keep herself fast after all, to make up for her lack of physical strength.

She had a bottle of water next to her. Today they were going to learn how to mask their force signatures. It would prove to be a handy lesson considering they’d need it for most assassinations. She couldn’t be an assassin if she constantly gave herself away; that would seriously ruin her reputation. She threw her head back, her eyes simply gazing at the sky above her.

Patiently, she waited.

Xander had woken to a half empty bed. His lover usually an early riser must have been out for an early run. Nights where missions did not have them apart were always greedily snatched up by one or the other, knowing there were many times missions saw them going in different directions.

A quicky shower, enough to help the monarch wake up fully, was all he needed as his exercise routine was scheduled for later in the day. Loose track pants, black in color, and a navy blue tank top, were quickly thrown on, and Xander's longer hair tied back in a pony tail as well. One of these days he would let [member="Sitara Qin"] cut it, but for now it was the only part of his heritage he held onto. The people of Ec Pand would not recognize him without it he was certain.

The morning training session was scheduled to start soon, and Xander made his way to where they were to meet. Xander joined the beautiful woman on the grass, as it seemed she had been there for a bit, and smiled. He pressed a kiss to her forehead.

"You look absolutely delicious this morning. Any sign of [member="Darth Ferus"]?"

"I would suggest waiting on the cannibalism until after I've left. Or, if you like, I could bring in Iziz to help with that." Ferus, as he always seemed to be, was never far away from his students. In this case, [member="Xander Blackmoore"] and [member="Sitara Qin"] . The Red Assassin knew full well that Xander wasn't talking about her looking literally good enough to be chopped up and stuffed hastily into his stomach, but he did not care. Such affections warranted weakness in some situations, and power in others. It was a gamble, and one Ferus had lost not too long ago for him to forget.

He was dressed as he normally was, hard leather tunic, loose pants, and his head wrapped up in a cloth. Blue eyes glanced between the two before he nodded his head once. "Good to see you both here. I take it that means your ready?"

Oh Ferus, don’t be such a grouch.” She giggled at his comment. She shot Xander a wink and got up, not wanting to do any more PDA during training time. Especially during training time. There was a time and place for everything, though if it were private.

Let’s have brunch after this. Kay?

The message travelled from her mind to Xander’s. Good old force powers, using it for teenage romance instead of serving the dark lord. This is exactly what the first ever force users thought of when they discovered telepathy and mind reading. What could she say? Sitara was still, technically a teenage girl with hormones. She did a few stretches, her blue eyes meeting Ferus’s blue eyes.

Ready when he is.” She said, a bright smile on her face. She was sometimes a morning person, when she wasn’t hungover that is.

"Brunch sounds delightful. I will be sure to have plenty of strawberries..."

Why strawberries, because one could paint with the juices of the strawberries, and Xander was feeling quite mischevious. Being around Sitara always made him fell as such. Her outlook on life was so much different than his had been. She truly had a way of making him appreciate life, and the moment, and the future. The past was far from his mind.

"Yes, the sooner we learn, the sooner we are free to enjoy the rest of the day. It supposed to be a beautiful day along the cove. You should consider a swim [member="Darth Ferus"]."

Xander enjoyed the water, and he enjoyed esspecially on warmer days. [member="Sitara Qin"] knew of his love for water. She had discovered it when he took her to Ec Pand, the planet which still held his families estate.

"You would be wise to take this far more seriously than just a passing lesson. You will not learn this in a week, let alone an evening. So I would suggest, rather than focusing on one another, you show some respect for what I'm about to teach you." Ferus kept his tone level, and turned from the room. A wave of his hand would motion for them to follow him. Art of the Small took quite a bit of concentration at first, and he was beginning to regret trying to train [member="Xander Blackmoore"] and [member="Sitara Qin"] at the same time. But, he would push the thought from his mind as the red man would lead the pair to the beach.

Ironic that this was the place they wished to be.

Rather casually he would remove his clothing, sliding off his vest, removing his shoes, though he kept his pants on. Red skin now bare, he would plop down on the sand, cross legged. "I would suggest getting comfortable. You won't be moving for quite some time."

"Oh come now Ferus... live a little. When you have lived as long as I have, and experienced what I have, then you can tell me to take things more seriously. 821 years has taught me one thing, life should never be taken too serious."

Yes, [member="Darth Ferus"] was the master, the head of the assassins, but Xander was by far the oldest among the group. With 821 years of his life stollen from him, Xander would never take anything too serious again. The only things in life worth taking serious were the simple pleasures which came from the relationships one made. Legacy was the real goal, and legacy was never made by men who were so serious they couldn't maintain the relationships which would make their legacy.

Xander sat, crosslegged, and nodded to Ferus motioned for [member="Sitara Qin"] to join him. While Ferus may think relationships were weakness, or could be, Xander knew theirs was a strength, and an asset to the assassins. Already the Sith were in position to capture one world because of their efforts, where no one else joined. Whether they were there for a long time or not, they would be there together, and Ferus should not regret it, but take advantage of the fact they worked so well together.

"You can be assured we will be serious enough to learn, but silly enough to have fun while learning. Not even the force is guarenteed to be useful to us indefinitely."

Hadn't Xander learned that lesson.

Ferus really needed to get laid. He was acting like a dad! Oh wait, he was one. Sitara rolled her eyes and smiled, walking over to where Xander sat. Blackmoore was right about one thing, Ferus did need to live a little. Xander was pretty old, and she should be creeped out that he was practically older than her great-great-great grandfather, but come on. He still looked like he was 21! He certainly act liked it too. She giggled, taking a seat next to her handsome lover.

Don’t worry, we’re going to be serious.” She said, rolling her eyes again before putting her hands on her lap.

He was grumpy, and Sitara didn’t really know why. She figured it had something to do with him being old and red. Hotheaded and grumpy maybe. She didn’t bother pressing the issue further. You really couldn’t reason with this.

And besides, there was always room for fun later.

"Age means nothing when you've spent almost all of it in a coma." Ferus, unlike [member="Xander Blackmoore"] , had been alive and conscious for hundreds of years, and if he had learned anything, it was that everything else was temporary, and a waste of time. Or so he believed. Yet he still married and had a child, only to have to kill his beloved and raise the child on his own. Life was cruel to those who didn't follow their own beliefs.

Rather than continue with this subject however he turned his attention to [member="Sitara Qin"] , then back to Xander as he offered a quick nod. "To begin, you must find that which is your signature. It is an ever constant bubble around your form, and you will find the edges of yours if you look hard enough. Find it, and we can move on."
