DESCRIPTION
Following her immersion into the dark side of the force, Darth Pteron has harboured a deep desire to see the galaxy. Without a credit to her name, however, she was forced to employ techniques of Force Levitation on herself and the water immediately around her to travel short distances from body of water to body of water, which was a most inefficient and tiresome method of travel.
Once her wisdom and power began to accrue her a small cult, she tasked them with the creation of a mask that would ease the burden of travel for the whaladon Sith. Having encountered accounts of a powerful gauntlet created in the Sith’s ancient history, she immediately saw the potential use for herself. This artefact, the Gauntlet of Crassus, had the ability to amplify the telekinetic prowess of its wearer tenfold, an ability that Pteron sought to use for herself. Thus her cultists and servants set out to gather the necessary materials and texts for the creation of an artefact with much the same power.
The mask that was crafted as a result of this became known as the Mask of Pteron. It is a massive 5 metre wide and tall curved slab of metal primarily made of aurodium and frasium. The expensive metals were carved with intricate details and painted by her followers as a way to appease her, yet Pteron has far more use for the mask’s function than its ostentatious appearance. Imbued with sith alchemy, the mask empowers its wearer’s telekinetic abilities manyfold, allowing even an inexperienced practitioner to perform wondrous feats with the Force. The wicked nature of the titanic mask also causes severe discomfort in adherents of the Light, who may perceive it to be an affront to the living force itself. Similarly, its twisted aura permeates its wearer thoroughly, enhancing their connection to the dark side of the force.
