The Mercenary and the Thief

Nar Shaddaa home of the lowest kind of life in the galaxy so much that it might even rival Mos Eisley as THE wretched hive of scum and villainy, you don't need to look too hard to find them either, dealers, assassins, Bounty Hunters and of course thieves, Ashla falls in the last type she's the kind that lies, cheats and steal anything and everything as long as it means getting some credits

Not the best life but you can't get much better in the Smuggler's moon unless you're part of a mafia or something which in all honestly the Togruta tries not to be part of, as much of a pain that the petty thief life was she was free to do what she wanted something that she wouldn't get by working on a Hutt Mafia or bigger groups like that.

Today the girl went to one of the most well known cantinas on the Smuggler's moon, "The Burning Deck" is one of the if not the biggest cantina in the whole planet and the best place to find a job, a place to relax and hang out with friends or in her case look for her next target, the cantina while famous it doesn't mean that people of high class will be present most of the time, it's Nar Shaddaa after all but who knows? Sometimes people with something of value comes around is just a matter of time.

Nar Shaddaa, now Aubrey never was one for the place. There was a certain smell about it that just put him off, but alas he was there finishing a job. Aubrey walked down a crowded street, donning his full merc gear, the infrared light from his ballistic mask glowing. A DL-18 blaster pistol holstered at his hip. In one hand a briefcase, containing a artifact that some rich kingpin wanted to add to his collection. The mercenary smirked, it was pretty easy to obtain, simple break and enter. Very light resistance. Aubrey was supposed to meet at The Burning Deck for a drop off, a lot of shady deals went on there, heh well everywhere Aubrey guessed. The man entered the cantina and made his way to the bar, where he set down his briefcase and took off his mask; attaching it to his belt. He would smile at the bartender. It was still way too early for the meeting, but hey, at least Aubrey could get a drink and scope out the attractive cantina go-ers.

"A shot of tequila." Aubrey said as he ran a hand through his hair.

Surprisingly a busy day for the bartender, the people seemed more focus on getting drunked than actually looking for jobs which meant that most likely things weren't going to go smoothly for the Togruta, these people never have anything of value on them, it was rather noisy too making it difficult for Ashla to try and track a conversation that could be of value, you know what they say sometimes words are more valuable that artifacts, rumormongers feed with information and pay a lot for an interesting gossip.

But sadly nothing until a man enter the cantina in full gear carrying a briefcase, nothing out of the ordinary many mercenaries and Bounty Hunter do that on daily basis (especially mandalorians) but the interesting was the mask with a single glowing red eye on it, most likely some kind of special vision like infra red or heat detector, the man looks profesional so whatever that briefcase has must be important and have a high price, looks like she got her target now just to wait some minutes to not look so suspicious

The Togruta waited around five minutes giving time for the man to see around the cantina and his drink to be delivered and after he took the first sip the girl move from her corner and near to the mercenary

"Hello there~" She said softly with a light smile "Mind if I join?"

Aubrey watched the bartender rush around delivering orders to the cantina patrons. Then he finally got to Aubrey's order. The shot of tequila. Aubrey smiled and watched as the shot was poured. "Thanks stud." Aubrey said with a sly grin. The mercenary took a sip of his drink. As soon as he did, a Togruta woman slipped into the seat next to him. He would give her a nod. "You can if you want." Aubrey said as he looked to the bartender. "A shot of whatever she wants." Aubrey said. He turned back to the woman.

"I'm Aubrey" The merc said with a smile. It wasn't that out of the ordinary: in Aubrey's eyes, to be approached by people at a bar, he figured it was because most people found him attractive. Or at least that's what he thought. He would sip a bit more of his drink. "So what brings you to The Burning Deck? This is actually my first time here, so I don't know the area too well, but hey cheer to firsts."

Aubrey smiled. "But I digress, What's going on with you?"

Ashla raised an eyebrow as the man didn't doubt of her for a second and let her take a sit even asking a shot of drink of her like, such a gentleman the kind you don't see too often around this place, the Togruta ask for a glass of Corellian wine and listen to the man's introductions, a first timer on the smuggler's moon? Make sense why he's so friendly and to be honest is a breath of fresh air compared to the people that roam this place

"I'm Ashla, a pleasure to meet you Aubrey~" The Togruta winked and then took a sip from her wine "You could say I'm a local, been living on Nar Shaddaa for the last three years"

Looking at Aubrey he didn't seem like the usual kind of mercenary or bounty hunters she knows, the fact that it's his first time on Nar Shaddaa makes her wonder if he's here by choice or was forced to accept a job and be here, whatever was the case as of now the Togruta couldn't care less, that briefcase was her target and whatever it had inside, but for now it'll be best to play friendly and not raise any suspicion

"Nothing goes on, just a boring day thought it could be nice go out and make friends" She took another sip from her glass "What brings a nice gentleman to a place like the Smuggler's moon for the first time?"

Aubrey watched as she ordered wine. She definitely was a nice change from the cold shoulders of most of the people on the moon. It’s not that Aubrey wasn’t used to cold shoulders, because he definitely was, it was part of being a mercenary. The Togrunta introduces herself as Ashla. She continued to say that she had been a resident of Nar Shadaa for three years. Aubrey smiled and winked back. “The pleasure is mine Ashla.” Aubrey said with a wink back.

She commended that she was out to make friends, Aubrey smiled. He nearly laughed when Ashla called him a gentleman. Of course she wasn’t wrong. But gentlemen wasn’t the word he’d use. He looked to the woman next to him and finished his shot, holding his hand up for another one. “I just finished a job. This is where my client wanted to meet up, but they aren’t here yet.” Aubrey said, not giving too much information to someone he just met. The merc received his second shot and he looked to his company again.

“Though I don’t mind waiting.” He took the shot smiling.

“What do you do for a living?” Aubrey asked [member="Ashla Saris"]

Ashla smiled as the man wink back at her, my oh my looks like we have a charmer this definitely will be an interesting day, but focusing on the important it seems that Aubrey has just finish a job and was told to meet his contractor here, well better a crowded place than one of the many alleys of Nar Shaddaa, too bad she didn't get any more information about the job tho that doesn't mean she can't try.

"I see, hope it's not a job for a hutt cartel, I've seen how usually their hired guns end and it would be a shame if something bad happens to you" She said taking another sip, this might not reveal who his contractor is but if it is a hutt the Togruta my think twice before stealing from them, it's not that worth "You think it'll be here soon or we will have time for ourselves?~" Time was important too, she has to know how fast she has to act before this contractor appears

He doesn't mind the company? Well he is in for a ride then, it's not often that Ashla meets this kind of person in the Smuggler's Moon, some already know her and are wary of her, others just fall immediately but there are rare instances when she finds a gentleman that put some challenge and even try their charms on her, that's when things get interesting and fun.

"Anything that give me credits, it's Nar Shadda no has a clean record here, honey" She finish her glass of wine and ask for another "I guess the most harmless thing I do is dancing, but I don't do it that often"
