A little monster

In the city of Culvos on the war-torn planet of Culroon III three armies met. The city burned, the streets were filled with rubble, and the cries of the injured filled the air. An endless cycle of civil war had once more broken out on the planet. Beneath the shadow of a once proud skyscraper, two groups of desperate soldiers fought a losing battle just to stay alive. The bodies piled high on both sides, each fervently hoping for the third party to not get involved.
Blasters bolts created an impenetrable wall, and soldiers began to use the bodies of the dead as makeshift barriers along the street to keep from being hit by the lethal light show. Off in the distance explosions rocked the area. Blooms of dust and rubble shot into the sky, as several buildings began to collapse to the ground. One of the soldiers cried out, “Look out from above,” as pulverized rock fell from the sky around them.
Towards the back of one of the lines, around the corner in a small ally, a medic desperately attempted to patch up the wounded to the best of her abilities. “Stang it all, I need more supplies. Where are the reinforcements?” She called out to the commander, who stood outside the ally way.
“Unexpected resistance in the residential district. It will take a bit more time. Just do your best Corporal!” Cursing under her breath, the woman worked hard to stabilize a man with a blaster burn on his chest, and to keep another alive who had suffered trauma from a concussive explosion.
While her eyes were focused on the wounded around her, out of the shadows a dark tendril shot out, wrapped around her neck, to keep any sound from coming out. Another tendril shot out, and the hardened tip pierced through her chest. The woman's eyes were startled, fear flowed from her, as the writhing mass sucked out the blood from her body. For a moment the black turned a deep crimson red, before she was dropped to the ground. Out of the shadow a monstrous alien form came out. Hand grabbed her head, and the beast used force drain on her, drawing out the very force energy from her body as the tentacle sucked out the blood. Once the woman was dead, the form moved to the wounded, draining each of their force essence.
Only the nearly dead were able to be drained, and so, the beast moved carefully nearly killing each before one of its hands came out to drain the force essence of each. When the bloodshed was complete, a hand touched each dead body. The form of the monsters shifted, and shrunk, as black goop engulfed each now dead body. It only took a minute before the goop returned and the form went back to its normal size. Nothing of the bodies remained, the black sludge like material had absorbed and disassembled each dead form.
Once more the beast slid into the darkness of the shadows and waited. The commander and two guards soon noticed the lack of people in the ally, and rushed to investigate. “Corporal?! What....” His eyes noticed the pool of blood near the shadows and they all drew their weapons. “What in the name of the light....”
In two of the beasts hands the black goo oozed and soon hardened into twin swords. With an incredible amount of speed, the monster had impaled the two guards through the stomachs. Like before, the swords turned a blood red as they absorbed the blood from the two. Soon the blades sliced them clean in half.
The commander opened fire immediately, the first shot hitting the beasts chest. A telepathic screech was went right into his head, fear taking hold. However, the seasoned soldier kept firing. This time however, not a single blaster shot hit. A small micro-singularity opened up, absorbing the blaster bolts. The monster leaped, tendrils clinging to the wall of the building, holding it there. They moved, and the creature was launched at the man, who desperately attempted to get away. However, a tendril wrapped around his form and slowly squeezed the life out of him. Bones cracked and blood pooled in the commanders mouth. Hand once more touches the man's chest, and as it absorbed the force power from him. Shuddering in delight, the creature dropped the lifeless body to the ground. Once more, the material oozed out over the bodies, dissolving them, devouring them. When done, the beast moved away from the battle, and took out the small remote detonator from it's upper pocket. When a good distance away from the fight, the button was pushed, and massive explosions rocked the area, bringing the building down onto the two battle groups...like it had done all throughout the city.
With the other two sides fighting strength greatly diminished, the third army moved into the city to finish the job. As the monster moved pass the incoming lines of troops, they moved to allow it through. An officer on the other side reached out a hand as it came close, and passed the payment for the job to it. It took the money and silently slid out of the battle. A long air speeder ride later, it arrived on the outskirts of a city.
It snuck through the shadows weaving through the crowded areas until it got to a larger property, with the words “Breeze Hall Orphanage” and then, while hidden in the trees, the goo that made up the body began to move and the form shrunk. Tendrils disappeared, the organic material slid off and retreated into a previously covered up backpack. A tight black suit remained covering the clearly smaller, humanoid female form, and even that retreated being sucked up around the neck of the small girl. Dark hazel eyes looked at the doorway with a smile. The black backpack hung heavy on her back, around her wrists two large black bead bracelets hung, as if they were a tad heavy themselves. Finally, around her neck, a black choker clung tightly to her skin.
She brushed off her clothing, smoothing out the wrinkles with a slight wince at the action. Layla shook her head, and combed out her hair with her fingers before she planted a smile on her face and walked towards the doors of the orphanage. She opened the door energetically and called out. “I'm home!” Her voice sweet, innocent. The payment chits were buried deep in her pockets. From a far away room a kind, but loud voice called out. “Layla! Come on! You are late for dinner, get your behind in here little lady!” Her stomach growled happily and she moved into the dinning hall, and greeted all the other children there, as well as the head mistress.
As she slid down to eat the stew set before her, she just smiled. It had been a good day.
