HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Created shortly after miss Pavaliah retired from service to Diviak Manfloon, it was seen as a way to boost worker production further by allowing them a reprieve in order to visit family or others outside their work areas. Through an agreement, a small section of land was sold at a slightly discounted rate to miss Pavaliah before work began on this structure.
Made to resemble a dormant volcano, the red and black design gave the impression of sophistication while also cutting down on heating and cooling costs. Most the structure is one way glasteel, save for a the ground floor which is two way glasteel. It was mostly to save money that they design was made, not actually for the aesthetic of the dormant volcano.
Closed circuit camera's are installed down every hallway and lounge area, including some areas outside the ground floor. Keycard doors were installed to keep down on random intrusions into private rooms. Each keycard is unique, remade after every use via a scrambler when returned. The door and associated keycard are then assigned a new code until used, in which the cycle repeats.
Cutting into her own funds for the first two years to keep the hotel afloat, limited customers had come in during that time. Mostly desperate miners looking to get away from the drone of work for even a short time. A bit of contact with Jocelyn opened up the floodgates, revealing that she was offering a place of reprieve from the use of Glitterstim, and even of recovery if they wanted.
Miners began to come more often, most leaving either a bit happier, or at least less miserable. A steady flow of miner's and their families, or significant others has garnered a healthy income to fund not only the hotel, but also the spice recovery program Jocelyn has initiated in the backrooms of The Nest. Offering temporary housing, single night rooms, meals, and social areas outside the nose of Manfloon, The Nest has become a candle in the dark of Sarko VI.
