Voss-Ka

As the cool breeze flowed across the golden plains of Voss, so too did it reach the mountain temple of Voss-Ka, ruffling the hair of one solitary figure. Sitting cross-legged atop one of the various meditation stones littered throughout the temple grounds, young Allana Gan let out a slow, deep breath. Her exterior features did well in hiding the utter turmoil that now existed within her mind, as her thoughts buzzed about like a hive if bees, stopping any hope of a quiet session of meditation.

The events of only moments ago, played out in her head. The blue holographic form of her ageless mother was now plastered into her skull. As seemed the usual now, the Jedi Master was still exploring the Unknown Regions, and for this reason she would not be making a return visit to Voss. This was the third time that her mother had failed to return home, and although Allana did not like to admit, but she did miss the Shi'ido Jedi.

She opened her eyes as she felt something wet slide down her cheek. Lifting up her mint green hand to touch it, she was surprised to find a single tear. Allana seemed perplexed by the small wet patch on her skin, puzzled as to why such a thing would be present on her face. This was not the first time her mother had put her aside and nor would it be the last, there would be no reason to cry over something that was obvious. Closing her eyes tighter this time, small lines appeared under them as she concentrated on letting go, trying to find solace in her own mind. However the tears continued to flow...

Barinthus stood there in the jungle, she had filled into his body nicely and while he might be young still at times he rather liked that he grew to look the same age as his sister fially wherever she had run off to. A small look on his face as he moved off letting the pale fine short fur on his chest and back get some moisture form the air on it. He didn't smeel thankfully and it felt like a fine peach fuzz as he scented the air and there was something there. A look brought his attention to the sight of the red headed daughter of his fathers students daughter. Gan.. Gan was her laster name but he was trying to remember a first while walking over and seeing the tear while he spoke holding his hands at his side. "Padawan Gan? Are you okay? There is no need to cry."

"Crying? I'm not crying." Allana said in response to the voice. Her eyes opened with a start as the masculine figure approached her. Wiping her eyes as she stood, she began fumbling over words, trying to hide or distract the man from her one moment of weakness. "I'm fine, and I wasn't crying. I was meditating is all, and I guess some little pest come along and made my eyes water. Yeah so you were wrong cause I wasn't crying, I'm not like that at...." the words left her mouth as the source of the voice came into focus.

Before her was a young man, probably in late teens, of similar age to Allana. His hair caught the light that now shone through the trees, reflecting a light almost angelic aura. As her eyes moved down from his face she caught in his eyesight. Both brown eyes locked together for a moment, before Allana moved on scanning further. And it was then she noticed the young man's lack of clothing. Her analysis had only taken a moment, and already she found herself staring at the man's chest. Heat rushed to her cheeks as she abruptly turned away, embarrassment leaking through her Force aura. "Sorry I..." she began, but cut herself off, feeling that it was best not to dig a deeper hole.

She just stood there, awkwardly gazing around her, looking at anything but the young man before her, the sunlight glinting off his body. "By the Force, he is attractive." she thought to herself, finding it hard to not keep her eyes plastered on him.

"I'm Allana." she said suddenly, holding out her hand towards the man. "You can call me Allana instead of being so formal." she said, ignoring the dark shades of green sticking out on her cheeks.

He had a grin on his face from that, cathar senses for smell and hearing letting him know something was there while she looked on and moved forward. "Well Allana hello, I am Barinthus," He moved quickly to get around and into her view. "If you aren't sad then I guess it was just a bug tearing you up but come on you can look at me. That emerald skin can only mean one thing, your mother is my old master Rasu."

The look on his face was more humor. "It would be bad if I left you out here by yourself." He was also looking her up and down a little. Pretty girl in the jungle he couldn't leave her alone. "It can be dangerous out here when your alone and pretty girls should never be left alone."

Allana could still feel the warmth rising from her cheeks. It was obvious she was embarrassed, but what annoyed her the most was that she could still sense the man's emotions. He was finding this...amusing. She turned to face him, making sure her eyes were plastered on his own, locking gazes for a moment.

"It's nice to meet you Barinthus." she said, blushing again as the words pretty left his mouth. Trying to make the movement seem casual, she turned to sit down on her meditation stone. "Well if you know me as Rasu's daughter, then surely you know I'm not helpless out here." she said, speaking out into the trees rather then face him and expose her sheer embarrassment. Gesturing to a opposite stone, she offered him the seat.

"Barinthus, I swear I've heard that name before. Aren't your parents Jedi as well?" she asked.

Looking at her as he moved to sit down opposite her the amusement was still there but he was observing her with larger eyes. "Oh don't give me that, you know there are dangerous things in the jungle and being able to defend yourself won't help you if your arm gets pinned under a rock or you fall in a pit. It is always good to make sure someone knows where you are and buddy system."

He offered an open hand while thinking about how to answer that.. few people knew while they were growing up who their parents were and that was because the Republic's jedi frowned on jedi being together let alone two councilors. He didn't actually understand it but raising an eyebrow. "Yeah both are, Grandmaster E'ron and master Synlidwirh are my parents.. well mine and my sisters but she decided to run off."

She felt slightly less embarrassed as Barinthus sat down opposite her, in fact the young Jedi had even made her smile. Buddy system?!? The two Jedi weren't exactly helpless as she took a moment to look down at her two lightsabers resting at her side. Well at least it's nice to know someone cares, she thought, before tuning back into what Barinthus was saying.

At the mention of Master's E'ron and Syn, a small mental click went off, as her mouth opened slightly in realisation. Of course, it made much more sense as she looked at the hair and the eyes. She had heard of the twin children of the Councillors, but only by listening in on conversations between her parents, she assumed being one of the few who knew of the parents identity.

Slowly, she reached out for the hand of Barinthus, resting her own atop his, looking up into his eyes. "Don't worry, you're not the only one who's had a family member run off." she said, thinking back to the holocall with her mother. "Master Gan isn't really one to stick around as well."

"Yeah she I am going to miss, I had the biggest crush that my sister teased me for and now I am without a master. At least you stayed around, brightens up this dreary planet." He stayed there but was looking at her now before raising his hand. "We're the children of the Silver jedi's founders you know what that means?" He paused for dramatic effect. "We can get away with a lot of things if we get bored around here."

Allana wasn't going to hide the embarrassment on her cheeks now. Barinthus knew how to push her buttons and she wasn't going to let him get a kick out of it anymore. As much as she hated to admit it, she was quite enjoying the company of the young E`ron.

"Oh I wouldn't say that Voss is dreary. I mean there's so much beauty here, or at least that's what mum always said to me. I can see why our parents chose here of all places to raise the Order." she replied, taking a moment to take in the golden jungle that now shrouded the pair from view. It truly was breath-taking, but that fascination dissipated after the first few years of residency.

"That's one way to look at it," she said laughing, "although it also means that the expectations on us are high as well. We have a responsibility to look after the reputation of both ourselves and our parents." Allana wished she could have adopted the attitude of Barinthus rather than that of her mother, worrying all the time was never one of her favourite traits.

"Well it helps that only a handful ever figured out who my father is let alone my mother. Let us get away with more while waiting for training but now Abigael has run off somewhere one of those... teenage rebellion things you are supposed to do when your family tries to get you to do things... Problem is no one was forcing her into anything and there are not a lot who wanted to put pressure on her."

He kept the smile though looking around and motioning with his head. "Now come on, you say this place it beautiful, but you seem tense and need to relax. There is so much we can do out here in the jungle for fun and that isn't even me thinking about getting you to show me the hot springs or trying to convince you it is far to hot for layers of clothing. Being a gentleman about it I am."

The smile remained while he stood up. "So come on Allana Gan, daughter of Rasu my old master. Come on and lets run through the jungle and have a race. Not many can keep up with a cathar even a shi'ido."
