The Next Step (Completed)

Orion stepped off of The Outsider and looked around at the cesspool he had decided to be dropped off on. It probably would have been easier for him to just buy a ship on Tatooine, but for a while he had thought about going off on more adventures with his new found friends. It was nice to trust others again, but he had to keep going. Orion had survived for a long time on his own and he was ready to set off on his own again. He had enough money to buy a modest ship, and enough skills to make himself worth hiring. He just didn't know if he really wanted to work as a mercenary or a bounty hunter.

The stink coming from the east was unbearable. Orion had no idea what it was from, he just knew it stunk. Several Gammoreans walked by, and they didn't make the place smell any better. Orion saw multiple different people brawling out in the middle of the street, but he didn't pay them any attention. He was headed for the bar, which was the best place to find information. However before he headed in, he turned back and watched the old Jedi interceptor take off into the sky. He knew Jakkor was leaving, headed off to go wherever it was he was going to be going. He knew The Outsider wouldn't be far behind, considering Xiarr was talking about heading off and joining the Galactic Alliance.

Orion stepped inside, and he honestly wished he had stayed outside. The smell was in here as well, but the heat made it that much worse. But he needed to get some information. He walked over to the bar, sat down and motioned for the bartender. "I will take a Corellian ale"

The bartender returned quickly with his mug and set it down. However before he could leave, Orion stopped him. "Is there anywhere around here I could buy a decent ship?"

The Sluissi looked at him, somewhat surprised. "You ain't from around here, are ya?"

"No. That's why I am asking about where I could buy a ship."

"Try a few doors down. You will see the place. Looks like a junkyard, but they have decent ships inside."

"Thanks" Orion finished his drink, and then flipped him a credit as a tip. He then walked out of the bar and back onto the street.

He wandered down the street and eventually found it. A decent sized shipyard, with different species wandering around looking at ships. Orion walked in and was stopped by a rodian. "Hello! I am Masix! Welcome to my shipyard! Can I help you?"

"Yeah. I need a ship. I decent one that will actually last."

"Well sir, you have come to the right place!"

Orion let the rodian show him around. He didn't really care all that much about the ship. Even if it needed work done, he could handle that. All he wanted was something he could fly around in. He would worry about getting a starfighter later on, if he needed one. As they kept going, he spotted a YV-666 light freighter. "I like that one."

"That is a nice ship. It has a few problems, mainly interior pieces that are broken. Nothing too major."

Orion instantly pulled out all his leftover credits and said "How much?"

"40,000"

Orion looked down and realized that was just about all he had left. "Fine" He handed it over, and the rodian handed him the keys.

Once the rodian left, Orion walked into the ship and looked around for a little while. The rodian wasn't wrong. Large pieces of metal were missing from certain parts of the hall, and large areas were rusting. Orion didn't mind though. He liked having projects to work on involving ships. He liked doing mechanic work, and would not mind fixing up his ship. The ship seemed to be full on fuel, so he knew he wasn't getting jipped. Now it was time to find work. Orion had heard about different groups such as the Black Tie Syndicate and the Kathol Outback. He wasn't sure where he would go next, but he figured that wherever it was, he would make money. And that was what mattered.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He spent several days searching and learned more about the Kathol Outback. After a while, he made a decision that he would join them and see if he could make a name for himself. Working with a quickly growing group like that is a great way to make others learn who you are. He had also heard about a man named MacTavish offering freelance work on the nearby moon of Nar Shaddaa, and he figured he might as well look into that as well. The galaxy was wide open, and it as time for Orion to return to it and make a name for himself.
