Ripley stood in front of the mirror in her dorm, fidgeting with her beige hooded cape that overlapped her leather shirt and pants. Her lightsaber hung at her side, as she rarely went without it nowadays. It was a reminder of why she walked the path she did- to defend, to protect, to help others. It was a habit that had started after she had passed her last trial, the trial of spirit. The things she saw when she looked in the mirror still haunted her, whispered that she could fall anytime. It was something she would not let happen, so any measure she could do to combat it- even something as mundane as carrying her saber everywhere- were taken.
"It's useless to try, it's in your nature." A voice from behind her hissed.
The young knight spun on her heels, and for a moment, saw herself yellowed eyed and sneering. Ripley blinked, and it was gone. She let out a tense sigh, loosening the grip on the weapon she had instinctively reached down to grab. It hadn't been long since her last trial had taken place, and this seemed to be a nasty side effect of it. Her moment was interrupted by the holopad on her bed pinging an alert. She picked it up and saw a message from the message from Seydn, a Mandolorian she had known from her slicing days.
<<Five minutes out. The girl is quite the traveling companion.>>
Ah yes, she had almost forgotten what she was preparing for. It had been a few days since Seydn had first contacted her about the force-sensitive teen and what to do with her. He had found her on Kashyyyk, and apparently had been keeping tabs on Ripley since she had resumed her Jedi path, so she was the first one the Mando had contacted. Ripley said yes in a heartbeat, and promised him his weight in credits for her safe arrival. Whether the girl wanted to be trained or not was up to her, but something had told Ripley that she needed to be here at the temple. The knight pulled her satchel from the hook next to the door, tossed her holopad in it, and made way for the landing pad. It was perfect timing, as the Seydn's old rust bucket had just touched down when she strolled up. The latch opened, and the Mando was clad in beskar, the girl next to him.
"Seydn, see you got an armor upgrade!" She called to the man, a warm smile painted on her face. Her eyes flickered to look at the girl next to him. "Hello, I'm Ripley."
