- Alchemy. Be that organic or inorganic alchemy the Obsidian Forge enhances the ability to saturate artifacts of the Force with the power of the Darkside in a very substantial way. Those using the Obsidian Forge will have an easier time reinforcing or strengthening the artifacts they shape, while the corruption of living and organic material becomes just as simple.
- Sentient. The corruption within the Obsidian Forge has made it sentient to one degree or the other. It has its own experience within the arts of Alchemy and Sith Magic allowing it to guide its Master when necessary.
- Nexus: The Obsidian Forge is saturated with the Darkside and powerful enough to be considered a nexus of the Force. Those that are linked and attuned to the Forge will find themselves stronger, easier to draw from the Darkside and the items they make amplified in power.
- Alchemy: The Obsidian Forge is the accumulation of decades of studying, crafting and experience within the Darkside of the Force and Sith Alchemy. Through sacrifice and investment it has become a nexus of the Force, allowing the amplification of the items forged there, accelerate the creation of Sithspawn and similar feats.
- Sentient: To a degree the Forge has its own will and mind. It can assist, give counsel and just simply talk about the weather if the alchemist wishes it so.
- Stationary: You won't have an easy time moving this around. It takes time, preparation and planning to successfully dismantle this artifact. It is possible to remove more easy the keystone that serves as focus point of its corruption, but this will not allow for the transportation of all its power.
- Focal point in the Force: It isn't easy to actually try and hide this thing. Its presence in the Force can be felt from relatively far away and without much difficulty.
- Force-Null: This artifact is just as susceptible to the nullification effects of the Ysalamir, Voidstone, things like that. In its presence the Forge is either turned inert or weakened the closer the voidstone gets. Of course, it is possible to hide the Forge through these means, but that would make it less than useful in most cases.
- Alchemist's Shadow: The Obsidian Forge is still a forge. It needs the steady and experienced hand of a Master Alchemist to be of any use. It isn't a generator of items, it can't create anything on its own. Without a forger wielding the hammer, it is simply an immobile Darkside presence in the Force.
The Obsidian Forge is the culmination of years of study within the arts of Sith Alchemy and Magic.
Being the caretaker of the Dark Forge for many years the alchemist by the name of Cerbera had ample opportunity to study the old artifact for all that time. The design, structure, the enchantments and abilities it gave. These lessons and others she took from decades of crafting and forging were funneled into the Obsidian Forge.
Some of its parts were shaped with nihil smokestone, others with bloodstained metals and stone, but every single part of it was forged together by Cerbera's hand.
Her will made it all fit together.
As a result an echo of her resides within the Obsidian Forge. It has a... will of its own, so to speak. It can guide those using the Forge, assist or simply discuss the crafting merits of a particular piece of stone. Additionally through the Darkside corruption the Obsidian Forge has become a nexus within the Force.
Its power can be felt from quite some distance away and it enhances the strength of those linked to it.
Once the keystone was set within the forge Cerbera was finally... satisfied. A feeling she hadn't felt in quite some years. It was heavy, cumbersome and not easily moved, but it was hers and hers alone.
It was good.
