The Odd Job (Adal)

[member="Adal Armina"]

Chalacta was a new world for him. He knew very little about it, but its locaction was on a trade route, which made it ideal as a possible third location for Ignus Industries. Or a staging point for dealing with the Silver Jedi. They couldn't always enter Silver space from the same place or they'd end up getting tracked back to where they came from. So he was also scouting it out as a staging point for future Sith Order incursions as well. Twice the work, but double the reason for being there.

"So as you can see, this would be a prime location for a new construction center."

Leos nodded his head at this.

"It does seem as much. I'll take it. My broker will be in touch. In the meantime, I'll head to the spaceport and find someone to sit on things for me."

"Excellent. We thank you for your business, Mr. Palle."

He nodded and moved back to his rented landspeeder. The pilot, once Leos was settled in, took them down the nearest street in the direction of the spaceport. He was going to need to hire someone to keep their eye on things for him. Then he was going to need to hire someone to take care of local material shipments. Easy enough if he found the right person. He wouldn't involve any actual Ignus Industries people because this was just a front. He'd call it something else, too. But first: find people.

Just becasue she was a padawan, didn't mean her business stopped at all, she still had shipments you run, things to deliver people to pay on her ship for the job

So it made sense she was on this trade world, in fact she had visited here quite a few times to pick up cargo and deliver it, she had just got in and out, she stood arguing with a trandoshan over what she had brought

What do you mean take it back?! I brought this stuff to you expecting to be paid

I don't care what you have done ssssssend it back I have found a better buyer

Now listen here we had a deal sit in stone and you agreed to pay me

Their conversation was loud and likely to attract attention of others as they bicker ed, tensions mounting

As they drew close to the spaceport, Leos let himself out of the speeder and sent its driver away. He had no more use for the vehicle. Entering within, he looked for the local conscription office, but was quickly caught off base by the sound of a Trandoshan and a young human woman arguing. Pausing, he listened in to what they were saying. Apparently the latter had brought a shipment of goods to the Trandoshan, and the Trandoshan was refusing to pay for what was brought. Typical, really. He'd dealt with his fair share of people that had reneged on an agreement when it was inconvenient for him, so he understood the plight the young woman was facing.

Reaching out through the Force, he tapped the Trandoshan's mind and gave a little nudge of influence to get him to agree to pay her. Though he could feel that the girl had some semblance of ability within the Force, and the fact that she felt unmolded, he wasn't going to see if she would respond to his efforts, or even feel them.

"Fine, I'll pay you. But this is the last time," the Trandoshan said, reaching for his credits.

Leos smirked a little, tipped his head at the girl, and started walking away from her towards the conscription office. He was aware of the fact that she would likely follow him, wondering why he'd just tipped his head at her. He'd done so on purpose because he wanted her to follow him. She could be useful. Relying on whether or not she'd felt him affect the mind of the Trandoshan was not going to do for him, so he'd tipped his head in order to gain her attention. Now he walked at a normal pace, waiting for her to catch up to him.

She was about to shoot the trandoshan but stopped, she felt...soemthing...as of it was on the edge of her skin feelimg around, then the trandoshan had done a full 360 and agreed to pay, she took the credits and looked to [member="Darth Ignus"] with a look of confusion, she watched him tip his head and then she blinked feelimg that feelimg move away

She didn't waste time, she picked the credits and quickly started towards the man quickly, she reached his side as she went to speak yet couldn't find the words at all, finally she spoke

Did you...did you just use the force to...make that man give me my payment

She asked as she looked the man over, he looked quite Profesional, made her wonder why he was there...

I guess not any case thank you, I am adal armina a pleasure to meet you

"No, you guessed correctly. I did do so."

He had stopped when she approached him, allowing her the time to think as she spoke. Her initial guess had been correct and he was a tiny bit surprised that she'd picked up on what he had done. Though, it had been a bit obvious given the situation that she'd been in and the complete reversal the Trandoshan had made on policy. She second guessed herself, which allowed him to confirm for her.

"A pleasure to meet you, Ms. Armina. I am Leos Palle, CEO of Ignus Industries."

No doubt she had heard of the company, so he wasn't going to give her the big long spiel on the matter. It did give him a chance to dig, though.

"What's brought you to this little corner of the galaxy and got you dealing with slimy scum like that one back there? You'd be better off doing delivery work for trustable sources."

Like himself, but he wasn't going to say that. Mostly he was prying for information about who she was and what she did. She may, after all, prove useful to him. He was in need of an associate on the world. The Reformation could always use more allies as well, all things considered.

is that so...well then a surprise for me

She stopped and turned to him, she had a bit of a better look now, definitely a professional man...his next words comfirmed that as she gave a smile

a pleasure as well Mr palle, amd ignus industries? Well then I am meeting a very high up man then

She then smirked at his next question, she adjusted her stance for a moment as she crossed her arms with a smirk

i should ask you, but I guess the question is for me, I had to deliver some stuff for the overgrown lizard, I can't say what exactly, but he was refusing to pay the full price of it all, plus no one wants to hire a ship that...has taken sensitive cargo let's say that

"A very high up man is a matter of opinion, I'm afraid. My company is not as large as some."

Truth, but to be fair she probably didn't care. She was working small time jobs and he was filthy rich, so to her he might as well have been lord of the universe. If only that were true. The things he could have done if he controlled everything. But alas, the universe was not yet his playground. He was still a cog in the wheel, as it were. The Reformation was dwindling. Not many could see the value in what it was that he aimed to do there. Not a surprise. In all honesty, his end game hadn't been that far different from that of Palpatine's and that likely dissuaded people from buying in. Reality was such, however, that what he said was true regardless. Ultimately the galaxy was going to destroy itself and peace would never be obtained unless someone like him obtained it.

But that wasn't the heart of what was going on here. Now he had this young woman before him.

"Sensitive cargo. Running things you shouldn't be, are you?"

It wouldn't be the first time he'd had a run in with a smuggler. Truthfully, he hired some of them at times himself. Why? The people that bought his goods couldn't always arrange for delivery based on their circumstances. Smugglers were very good at getting things into places where people didn't want them to get to. Sometimes it was a necessity.

"Now, as for asking me the same question, I just purchased some land here for a new plant. I'm in need of someone to make sure that it doesn't get double sold. People have a tendency to do such things, after all. I was going in search of someone to keep an eye on things for me until my people get here. Wouldn't happen to know someone interested in a job, would you?"

not large but I've heard of it around the places

She said, then she gave a smile at his next words and made a fake shock of emotion

me? Oh heavens I could never do such a thing...unintentionally that is hahaha

That was the truth, she had a policy where she had to know what she was transporting, she didn't care the location just what her freighter had to transport, at one time she transported a rancor, a gift someone was giving, she gave a frown but she gave a smile and nodded

not anyone I trust, however I can do it, wouldn't mind setting a but letting my crew take a break, that is if you don't mind me doing so
