The old ways awake

"The Nikto's Morgukai warriors are among the deadliest in the galaxy.
They train to kill Force users and can take a normal man down as easy as breathing."
OOC thread

Scene

Kintan, the home world of the Nikto. One of the few worlds to have not only survived but from what it seems evolved after a supernova explosion.- Its five sub-species learning and adapting as expert survivors on this crude and dangerous world.
The Hutt luxuary yacht had sailed down from the red skies and anchored itself just beneath the foot of the mountain. Cartel guards and slaves forming a small camp of its own beneath its great belly.

He squeezed the scroll in his hands. It was the reason he was here. It might even be the key to survive this encounter. It held a text that was sought by the residents of this ancient sacred Nikto ground. Sempra watched the temple from the deck of his barge. This was an important moment and even though he usually sent others to handel negotiations like this he had been adviced to present himself at this moment.
The Nikto sacred warriors were almost only a legend by now. There was little fact to go on but the hutt knew all to well that the cartel was in great need to find ways to counter force users that threatened the cartel. If there would be an agreement between Sempra and this aging Nikto bladesman it would most certainly be a step in that direction. The rumor spoke of that this elderly Nikto was one of the last Morgukai alive. It might be the last chance to revive the sect, but this time under the cartels watchful eyes. In his hands he spun the scroll which had led them to this place. They had first neglected the scroll as myth. But recent rumors on Kintan had convinced them to pursue this rumor and it had born fruit.

Sempra sighed, Kintan was under their control and within minutes he could have an army here to support him. But if the Nikto decided to move against him he doubted minutes would be fast enough.

He turned to his sides making sure his entourage and his bodyguards [member="Tiali Orazio"] and [member="Ashalah Ky"] was prepared to leave the barge with him. Having assured himself that they were ready he turned to [member="Flannigan Mcnash"].

"Any advice Admiral, before I venture inside the lions den to meet the Morgukai elder."

"I'd tell you you're safe-" he paused adjusting his coat with a single clawed finger unbuttoning or simply removing a button with a click of his finger's, it fell away and at his feet crushed as he moved to adjust himself to be standing to the centre left of [member="Sempra the Hutt"]. "-that they'd not dare risk us glassing this side of Klatooine." he affixed him with his cybernetic eye's, narrow arrow slits glowing red with the fire of electricity behind them. "But they seem cult like in tradition, akin to Jedi and Sith clouded judgement may rule."

Sempra recognized the caution in [member="Flannigan Mcnash"]
The Cyborg dispiced most force users, and for good reasons. Still he too felt that this was dangerous ground.

"True admiral. I have my doubts as well. If we are to find an agreement with the Morgukai tradition, we must... alter their traditions slightly. Control them. But without loosing their skills in combat."

"Do you have any suggestions?"

There was little that the cyborg could not influence in the cartel and Sempra had followed the mechanical pirates advice on many occations. He was dependant on the success of the cartel, and thus Sempra could depend on him.

Ashalah wasn't quite sure what their objective here was, but she was ready for anything. In any case, she stood near [member="Sempra the Hutt"], ready and waiting for orders. She knew her master was meeting an elder from a tribe or something. Maybe it had something to do with a treaty. Sempra seemed to love those. Alter their traditions and control them without losing them. A task that was easier said then done. The execution would be challenging.

Obviously, they couldn't use fear. That would just scare them off. No, they had to do something else. Something better. That would induce fear, but not have them notice it right away. For Ashalah, blackmail seemed like the best option. Twist words and purposes to the Hutt's favour force the Elder to change without putting any real blasters to his head. Instead, really, they would be putting metaphorical blasters of words and non-compliance to his head. Not as fun, in her opinion, but it was what was necessary for the time being.

Sempra took a deep breath and positioned himself on the lift that would bring him and those accompanying him through the belly of the barge and down to the ground below.

It made a humming low sound and with a slight protest the lift passed downard with its heavy cargo until touching down. Sempra had brought what one might call an honor guard along with him. They were flanking the passage from the lift to the stairways leading up to the temple entrance. No welcoming comitte was seen and Sempra produced a few words to remakr on this. If it had been any other Nikto chieftan or such the hutt would have met such a disrespectful act by beheading someone. But he managed his anger over this. He was not unfamiliar with contempt or even blatant disrespect. Albeit perhaps not from Nikto in general.

As he moved closer to the stairs two Nikto warriors, both armed with long double bladed staffs exited the temple and flanked the entrantrance without saying a word. Sempra paused for a moment looking ot his right making sure [member="Ashalah Ky"] was present. It was unlikely, but this whole set up could be a trap.

[member="Flannigan Mcnash"]

Sempra moved his large body up the stairs bearing his head high and proud. He wanted to remind these Nikto that even though they were a selected few elites, he was a hutt. And the Nikto had bowed down to the hutts a long time ago. This was his domian not only through its actual government but also because ancient legacy that spiraled back to tthe days of the great hutt wars.

The guards, Morgukai apprentices Sempra assumed, did not move to stop him from entering. But they did not kneel either.

As Sempra and his entourage entered they remained at their posts overlooking the outside of the temple. This was vast but empty place. Every stone and piece of furniture told of past glory now long gone. Another Nikto approached them and bowed.

"Follow me honorered guests. I will take you to him." Sempra merely nodded and the group continued further inside passing several locked but unguarded doors. For the criminal minds of Sempras entourage this was a tempting opportunity to steal but their master had been clear. Nothing must be done to upset the Morgukai or he himself would punish the miscreant.

Passing below a great arch, decorated with old crumbling scenes of battle the group finally entered the main hall. The room was most likely used as a training area, with several gadgets and machines spread out on the floor and on the walls. In its center stood an elderly Nikto, his Morgukai weapon firmly held in his left hand. It was hard to tell if the staff was there for support or if the Nikto merely spread out to appear more impressive.

Either way, Sempra slithered closer to him as his entourage fanned out.
[member="Ashalah Ky"]

With an almost soundless movement the elderly Nikto warrior rose and turned to face his guests.

"Sempra Besadii Dhakun, Supreme Mogul. I bid you welcome to our temple." he began. His voice was of clarity and self control. With neither despise or a submissive stance Sempra could not really read him. This in itself was unusual. Sempra was very skilled ion reading people but the Morgukai elder was like a blank sheet to him.

"That is correct warrior from a past age. I have come to seek you out with an offering." Sempras slave moved forward and placed various gifts on the floor in front of the Nikto.

He merely glanced at them and scowled.

"Do you think these gifts interest me hutt? Then you are gravely mistaken, the Morgukai are warriors. Not simple thieves and thugs that you can bribe into your service." Now anger shone through in the Niktos voice.
finally Sempra thought, there was the fiery spirit that he had heard so much about.

"You are mistaken Morgukai!" he belowed and straightened his stance towering close to the ceiling in the room. "I have come to offer you a reemerge of you and your warriors. To offer protection, training facilities, proviant and weapons necessary to equip and feed an army of feared and deadly warriors. I am offering you to resurrect the Morgukai."

There was a moment of silence as the elder nikto narrowed his eyes. "You are ambitious enough hutt. your offer is tempting, but I am Morgukai, the battle is what matters, not your promises of resources. Are you worthy?"

Sempra grinned. I know of your traditions, I will honor them and have brought a champion. Sempra turned his head toward [member="Ashalah Ky"]

"Prepare yourself." he instructed her.

Ashalah followed her master through the temple, fanning out with the rest of his entourage when he came to a stop. There, she resumed her body guard stance, hands behind her back, feet shoulder width apart. She kept her chin up, staring at the elder in front of [member="Sempra the Hutt"]. They began to talk of peace offerings and warriors and traditions.

Then Sempra told her to prepare herself, and her instincts went on high alert. Bowing respectively, she strode forward a few steps, aware of the many eyes on her. Her hands moved to her collar, where the clasp for her cloak sat at her throat. She undid it, letting the covering garmet fall to the floor, revealing the Desert's Silence. With the stealthy combat suit exposed, she bowed to the elder, showing him her deepest respects as well. Straightening, she nodded to show she was ready.

The Morgukai elder nodded in response to [member="Ashalah Ky"]

"You will meet one of my students in close combat. You wont be needing that." he pointed toward her rifle. INstead he turned his head toward the far wall where a weapon rack was holding several different blades and hammers. Non of them were vibro-weapons.

"If your champion manages to defeat my student I will listen your proposal Supreme Mogul." he added to Sempra.

The hutt hummed for a while. Then he too nodded and motioned for his assassin to approach the rack and choose her prefered weapon.

Ash did as the elder instructed, slipping her blaster off from across her back before handing it to a slave girl. She approached the rack, stopping in front of it to scan each weapon. They looked like antiques, not the modern vibro ones you see on the streets every day. Finally, she selected a dagger, medium sized, and turned to the elder. "Can I only take one?" [member="Sempra the Hutt"]

The Morgukai Elder smiled at the question. He reckognized the thinking and planning of a strategic and experienced mind in her.
She also acted on Sempras request without question. Which meant that Sempra indeed commanded note worthy loyalty or that she was preassured somehow. He was certain which one would soon be revealed.

"You may choose as many weapons as you like. But give it thought, more to carry is a greater burden."

[member="Ashalah Ky"]

"Understood," she nodded at the instructions before turning back to the weapon rack. Keeping her knife, she selected a two smaller ones that she slipped into each sleeve. Turning back to the elder, she gave another respectful bow. "Then I am ready to face your champion."

[member="Sempra the Hutt"]

The far door of the room opened up with a wicked sounding grind as stone were rubbed against stone. The Morgukai Master sat down on his throne and nodded at the large Nikto appearing from the doorway.

He held a long spear in his right hand and entered the room thwirling the weapon extremely fast in one hand as to stretch out and intimidate his opponent. The Nikto then slammed it down onto the floor and tilted his head looking at [member="Ashalah Ky"] as if sizing her up.
"Are you the hutt dog that wish to taste my wrath?"
MorgukaiWarrior.JPG
"Prepare to be humiliated before your master slave..."

The Nikto started to move around in a circle, testing the air with his spear now and then. Moving like a great cat the large Nikto would not be slow, nor clumsy.
Now the question remained who of the combatants would strike first.

So that was the challenger. The champion? Ash also sized him up. He was different than the others she faced. He was bulky, but not burly enough to not move as well. And that spear would provide a lot of long-ranged advantage. And if she did get past the spear, he would no doubt be skilled in close ranged too. That didn't matter. As long as she could get in close, and get behind, she could get her daggers out. And she still had all her tricks hidden in her gauntlets.

The Nikto started to move, and show did she, moving the same direction as him, one knife in her hand. Her breathing slowed as she prepared for the first strike. "Smeeleeya whao toupee upee," Smile when you say that. She grinned at him as they circled, before continuing in Huttese. "Might improve your ugly mug." She couldn't help but chuckle at the insults too. Hutt dog? Slave? "Da beesga coo palyeeya pityee bo tenya go kaka juju hoopa." The last fool who called me that got his antennae shoved down his throat.

[member="Sempra the Hutt"]

the Nikto growled at the remark and joined the circle. As the the two combatants slwoly moved around each other to gain some sort of upper hand the hutt and the nikto elder both observed in silence.

Sempra wondered if [member="Ashalah Ky"] knew what was at stake here. Had he chosen the right person for this deed? doubt crossed his mind but it was too late now. the die had been cast and he could no longer effect the outcome.

The initial observing dance came to an abrupt halt as the Morgukai suddenly burst out. Not with a roar or clumsy movement bit with surprising speed and deadlyu silence. While bluffing it first appeared as if he would leap high to bring down the attack from above but instead he somehow managed to spin around on his knees and if hit [member="Ashalah Ky"] he would sweep her of her feet.

The Morgukai was the first to break the circling trance the two combatants were locked in. He sprung forward with speed and silence that were uncanny for someone of his build. The axe came down from above. A normal person would try to block that, but Ash wasn't stupid or willing to die before the fight even truly began. That axe looked heavy. She launched herself backwards into a handspring, flipping over on her hands once then twice. It was a good thing that she did because as she righted herself, she watched the other go down on his knees and start to spin.

As the axe came around to knock her off her feet, she ran back towards it and leaped, hoping to land on the flat of the blade to get it on the ground. She would continue her movement forward, one foot on the shaft of the axe and lunging forward, bending over to drive both her her knee and her knife towards his face.

[member="Sempra the Hutt"]

the speed of the two combatans were impressive. Sempra raised himself from his slumped position in anticipation as the two clashed. While he was eager to see [member="Ashalah Ky"] win he could not help but enjoy the near death that she was exposed to. After all, that was partly why she loved her so much. And Sempra loved few of his servants. It was indded a mix of torture and pleasure to see this happen.

The Morgukai apprentice was first fooled by her trick and his spear was nailed to the ground by her feet but [member="Ashalah Ky"] had underestimated his strength and he pulled her off her feet with a grand sweep. Her knife scratched him over his nose though and cursing he stumbled back.
with a roar he then lashed forth in a series of complex and powerful strikes using his weapons length as an advantage he was forcing her to fend her self toward the wall. If she could not find a way out of the attack she would be in grave danger once her back hit the wall.

Ash's eyes widened in shock when she was knocked off her feet. She hit the ground, but quickly got back up. In this kind of fight, she couldn't waste any time down. Or else it would be the end for her. Luckily, her attack succeeded, and she smirked at the blood running down his face. When he charged again, she crouched into a ready stance.

He came at her with multiple blows, swinging and jabbing at her with the spear. She began to back up, dodging all she could. Her montrals caught most of his movement, providing her with a second set of eyes to dodge better. He hit her a couple times and she winced at the pain. There were going to be a lot of bruises tomorrow.

She backed up two more steps before realizing what he was doing. Backing her into the wall, she would have no way out. She'd be skewered for sure. Her left hand went to the gauntlet around her right wrist. Ducking under one of his blows, she popped up and aimed her arm at the ceiling. With a push of a button, and more dodging, a grappling hook shot out, attaching to the ceiling above. She was quickly raised above the man's head. Pushing off the wall behind her for momentum, she swung around. Picking up speed and force, she let herself come back to the foe, her feet moving to smash into him.

[member="Sempra the Hutt"]

Exhausted by the hurricane of attacks he was surprised by the trick [member="Ashalah Ky"] pulled from her sleeve. Her feet rocketed into his chest and slammed him into the floor ending up with her on his back. He groaned in pain and [member="Ashalah Ky"] was given respite to either finish him off or stand back offering mercy. Either way, she had won.

And it all was happening under the dark laughter of Sempra the hutt.

The Morgukai went down. And stayed down. Pressing a button on her gauntlets, the wire retracted. Ash landed on the ground, tucking into a roll to dispel that momentum. Then she got to her feet and turned back to the other. Her fingers wrapped around the grip of the knife.

The honourable thing would be to walk away, give her opponent mercy. But this was the Cartel. There was the first thing that Ash learned in her years here. The mentality she grew up in which allowed her the promotion to Enforcer. No mercy.

Going over to the man, she knelt down next to him. "Sweet dreams, scum." She whispered in Huttese before driving the dagger into his skull. His body slumped, not moving again. Getting to her feet, she went over to stand in front of Sempra, giving him a respectful bow. "It is done, my Lord." She said in Huttese.
