Description: The shining seat of imperial power, the gridded district is tree lined avenues of foot traffic only that lead to the largest building in Imperial Centre, the Palace of Grace, dubbed the Sceptre by citizens. A large triangular tower well over 5km tall, there is no point in the great city that cannot be seen from the Sceptre. Nearby, in a building that is much less grandiose, is housed the Department for Reeducation, where citizens are sent who are in need of a refresher course of their civics lessons. Spread out among the district are the estate houses of the elite members of the court; those who have pleased the Crown may find themselves wanting for nothing within the gated district so long as they continue to please His Highness.
Security is especially tight within the Palace District, and visitors may ride small, gyroscopic transportation devices or walk. Only security personnel may use speeders within the district.
History: About a century ago, the Palace District was constructed over the ruins of a old historical district that was demolished to make way for the new heart of Imperial Centre. Once work was completed, the former imperial district, Senecia was renamed Fairview Heights and the Imperial Court moved to the next district over where there is still a view of Skyhold and Fairview. Although the original palace building was the tallest structure at the time, the design was revised and rebuilt until it became the massive structure it is today. There is a rumor that no building on Cormalum may ever be taller than the Sceptre, and all new construction must be built in such a way that the Palace of Grace is always the most striking feature of Imperial Centre against the the skyline.
