- Dark Side Enhancement
- Lightning Conduit
- Symbol of Devaron
- Lighter Weight: Designed to allow the behemoth lug that is Laoth to keep both his mobility and flexibility during intense engagements, this Panoply is constructed out of highly resistant and lightweight materials.
- Lightsaber Dueling: Constructed out of layers of flexible leather, Force enhancing metals, and Lightsaber resistant Norris Root, this Panoply along with Laoth's training in traditional Devaronian weapons allows the giant to defend himself in Lightsaber combat quite well in spite of his lack of training with or against the weapon itself.
- Other Resistances: The Norris Root and layers of metal also provide substantial, but not impervious, defense against many types of ranged weaponry such as blasters and standard plasmic weapons.
- Dark Side Enhancement: Located within the layers of Sarrassian Iron lay particles attuned to the Dark Side of the Force. Latching onto the massive frame of Laoth and embedding themselves into his own connection to the Force, these particles enhance his abilities twice-fold, allowing him to extend his reach of power and potential to greater heights.
- Lightning Conduit: Curiously, a seemingly passive effect of this Panoply is its attraction of electricity, particularly Force Lightning to which it appears to serve as a conduit. Essentially capable of becoming a mobile generator, Laoth is able to use these attracted strands of electricity coursing across the armor in various attacks with either the Force or his weaponry (as depicted above).
- Symbol of Devaron: Either a recreation of a possibly ancient Devaronian warlord's armor or the actual armor itself - as described below - this Panoply has a certain power behind it not too dissimilar to the Mask of Mandalore or the Darksaber of ages past. Should Laoth prove himself in comparable methods, the possibility of some of his people flocking to his service is quite high, thus allowing him to lead an army of fanatical Devaronian warriors.
- Light Side of the Force: Practically drenched in the Dark Side and fused with Laoth's own connection, the Panoply is negatively affected by most powers of the Light Side, and even Lightsaber crystals attuned to it. If Laoth does not act on the defensive when necessary, the Light Side of the Force can even annul the Panoply's abilities.
- Force Nullification: Substances such as Void Stone, the energies of the Ysalamir, various powers such as Sever Force, and other methods of nullification all affect this Panoply the same as it would a Force User without such armor. This is because of the usage of Sarrassian Iron in the construction to enhance its wearer's connection to the Force.
- Targeting: Due to the thinner layers of material used in construction, various points of the armor pose considerably weaker resistance to targeted attacks. Heavy blaster weapons, repeated blaster fire, and precise lightsaber strikes can and will break through the armor's weak points.
- Open Sections: An unfortunate consequence of its design, much of this Panoply's upper body is open to the elements, as such providing glaring weaknesses Laoth's enemies can exploit.
- Special Lightsaber Crystals: Some Lightsaber crystals have a unique strength even against the Panoply's Norris Root protection, and can cut through the defenses with varying levels of success.
- Ionic/Sonic/EMP: Designed for blaster fire and melee combat, this Panoply has zero defense against Ionic, Sonic, and EMP weaponry, giving Laoth's opponents even more advantages against the lug if he is not prepared for such situations.
- Explosives and Slug Rounds: Because of the thin layers, kinetics such as explosives and high-impact slug rounds can shatter the protection of the Panoply and wound or even kill the wearer underneath.
Boasting a unique duelist's design, this armor provides its wearer with the needed mobility and protection in high-energy combat to survive and thrive.
However, much like its current owner, the story of this armor is a bag of conjecture, debate, and forgetfulness among the circles of Devaron. As it stands, two aspects of evidence to this day make up the only thing that could be called an entire story: two truths and a slew of fairy tales and maybes. The first truth is that it is an exceptional piece of craftsmanship capable of serving its bearer quite well in combat. The second truth in this matter is thusly that not everything in the fairy tales and maybes is a lie or falsehood, making the facts of the case lie somewhere in between.
Like with Laoth himself, Devaronian scholars aware of this armor's existence have tried time and time again to pin down the exact origins of its creation, if it has one to be found. Despite a lack of concrete data collected over the years, many of the more patient investigators have come to the idea that it was perhaps crafted and worn by a Devaronian warlord mentioned in quite a few entries of a once-famous saga. This warlord, named Raavrolmauss Huennund, was said to have conquered the entirety of Devaron's southern and eastern jungles and combined them into a vast empire. No physical evidence of this warlord's life beyond the sagas has ever been discovered.
Whether or not the armor - dubbed simply "the Panoply" - worn by Laoth today is in fact the exact same one worn by the warlord is unknown, only that it possibly bears similarities to those described in the texts. The man simply appeared one day wearing it some time following his recovery by Halketh and gave no explanation as to where it came from or how he got it.
Regardless, the strength of the armor cannot be denied, although its resistance to Lightsabers and blaster-type weapons point to a possibility that this armor was merely crafted after the one described in the texts. The sagas allegedly come from a time before such weapons were even known to the Devaronians, making some view this possibility as fact.
Whatever the truth may be in between the conjectures and maybes, the armor does hold a certain power over members of the Devaronian society, and should the wearer claim enough sway, they can call upon such people to join them in their cause - whatever that may be.
