The Past Name Of Tyro'din

Tyro'din

Worshipper Of Halrormalenth
A young, red eyed Bothan sat cross legged across from and older version of himself. The younger Bothan was 9 year Shelk Tef'din -who would later grow up to shed his name and only answer to Tyro'din- and Senrak Tef'din - his father.

The room they were in was clearly a study, considering the giant desk opposite the entrance, a desk covered with pages filled economic figures and more. The rest of the room contained two bookcases on which many holopads were stacked, a large floor-to-ceiling window facing East and a small table on top of a thick rug. It was at that table that the Bothans sat.

On the table was a tea set and two saucers, one in front of each figure. Reaching down the oldest Bothan began to speak after taking a sip, "This will be our last session in this room, my boy." Senrak's voice was deep and sounded like he had been gargling rock, but it was full of pride as he stared at his heir. "We have one last topic to cover though," continued Senrak, sipping his tea all the while, "the Bothan Way. The Bothan Way dictates how we, as Bothans, shall live our live. Our individual interests above others, our family above others, our clan above other clans and our race above other races.

"I find The Way to be slightly wrong as it does not mention allies. Listen to me my son, when you have allies and friends, think of them as family, then you will know how to react around them. I also find the last line to be idiocy, would you care to take a guess as to why, my boy?" Senrak had chosen to do this so as to encourage his heir to think for himself.

"Urm, I-I, erm, I t-think that.." Senrak cut of Shelk before he could continue, "Take your time my boy, deep breathe and speak clearly." Shelk followed his father's advice before continuing, "I think that, uh, you don't like that last line because, er, it, er, encourages, er..."

"Think back to your past lessons, Shelk." Advised Senrak. "How have I taught you to deal with an unknown living variable?"

"Oh, er, to never presume yourself as a higher being and lower your guard as a result, see them as an equal and keep your guard up?" All though he had stared strong, by the time he was finished his statement was more like a question.

"Correct my boy. The last line of The Way tells us to assume that arrogance, it is unfortunate that my grandfather didn't learn this, he died due to his arrogance in the end." The room drifted into silence for a minute while the father lost himself in memories and the son beamed in pride due to him being right and not failing his father. "Right," Senrak eventually spoke up, "that's, that. I don't think we need to go over that any more. You are dismissed."

Senrak grinned as his son left, but as the door closed and he returned to his desk, it turned into a frown while a low, constant growl echoed from his throat. His views on The Bothan Way conflicted with some of the more extreme and traditional clans of Bothawui and there had been talk of assassination against his clan, add the fact that he was Minister of the Treasury and many were gunning for him and his family, even if there goal was to remove him from his position of power. As the leader of his Clan and Family it was his duty to see them safe.

With a sigh he sank into his chair started to plan out an accelerated course for the young of his Clan, especially his son, his heir. By doing this he was securing the fate of his Clan. Even if Clan Din was attacked the young wouldn't be harmed, the Bothan population was too low for his enemies to harm them.

With one more sigh, Senrak settled back to work.
