The path to the light side.

Kixi had only recently arrived from her extremely long and treacherous journey. She was in need of a new master. A master that could guide her in the the true and pure ways of the light. Her old masters, from the life she had left, a life that had felt she had lived eons ago, had taught her well in harnessing the force and even using a lightsabre, however much conflict she had sensed in herself. Much emotion. They never taught her well on how to overcome any of these. The perils of teaching young Jedi was obvious. Falling to the dark side, and Kixi had come close to that many a time. She needed guidance. She needed a master that could show her the true ways of the light. She wondered the halls of the Jedi academy in search for that.

The Silver Temple corridors can be a lonely place at times. With many Jedi out on missions, there are few on Voss today. Although the Temple is not empty, there is a stillness within the cloistered walls. Coci walked along the upper level, deep in thought about the up and coming training for the Silver Shadows.

She and Master [member="Connor Harrison"] had been deliberating over the next course of action for the Shadows, which would see them train vigorously. This is preparation for what lay ahead for the Silver Jedi. Coci and Connor will see that those that follow the shadows will be there to protect those they love, within the Order and serve to protect peoples against the growing darkness.

So many new faces have arrived to the Silver Sanctum, not only since the merge of the two groups but because of the war of Ziost, many more coming to them in order to help fight against the Evils.

Up ahead of her, she sees a figure walking toward her. It is not a person Coci knows on sight and the force telling her it is an aura unknown to her. And yet there is no sense of danger or ill intent, but rather a feeling of being lost.

As the young woman approaches her, "Can I help you?, you seem lost".

Kixi felt a rather strange sensation as she walked through the large corridors of the temple. It had felt like she had walked through them before. But she couldn't have. She had never been here before until now. She shook her head and shrug off the feeling. It was more likely her mind playing tricks on her she eventually convinced herself. Yet no matter what, that bizarre sensation wouldn't go away. As she slowly continued walking through the passageways, lost in thought, another woman approached her. Kixi could sense the strong Force presence in her. The woman spoke to her in a calm and gentle voice.

"I am lost", Kixi replied slowly and shyly, her face turning red as a result. "I'm here because I seek wisdom and guidance. Are you able to assist me?"

"I am", she said to the young woman. Coci's force senses reveal the new comer is force attuned and in much need of training. Set strong within her, their is a sense of lacking in purpose or direction. "But tell me where have you come from?", she said beginning to walk once more back the way the girl had come from.

"The force has guided you here to the Silver Temple, so you follow its direction", she stated as a matter of fact. "That, at least .. is a good start is it not?"

Moving down the long walk way on the upper level, as always there is a gentle breeze that refreshes the inner rooms of the Temple, coming for the open double doors of the main entrance. Soft, gentle light bleeds through the rooms, casting its rays through the windows. At the end of the walk way is the balcony that over looks the blue crystal in the center of the room. Coci can feel the light side pulsing from it, energy surrounding the Temple to give protection and over them all.

Kixi felt the warmth of Coci's aura. She felt comfortable speaking with her and listening to the sound of her voice. Generally it took Kixi time to get settled and comfortable with a stranger. This master was different. Kixi smilied at Coci as a Coci spoke to her. Something about this master was making her feel at home. The kindness the carring. They slowly walked to the upper levels of the temple.

"I come from a place very far from here, it's a bit hard to explain", Kixi replied in a shy but also nervous manner. She knew the master could tell, but she made no effort to hide her emotions. She needed guidance and training, thus she had to be as straight foward as possible with herself.

"But for now perhaps I can explain to you how the society where I am from works", Kixi quickly added now sounding a little less nervous. "Where I'm from, the ruling society is comprised of noble houses. Great Houses to be exact. My father is the head of one such house". Kixi paused her face suddenly turning to one of sadness, "I disgraced him by leaving and joining a rival house. I was young and stupid. Initially I thought my decision was a good one, but soon I found myself fighting all the wars for my new house. It got ugly many a time and I was always in the centre of it". Kixi paused a moment and continued as Coci listened attentively. "Much pain and grief it caused me, suffering and trauma. It wasn't the life for me. These noble houses, all they wanted to do was rule, fight, conquer. So I had enough. My house of bloodline was not as warring as the one I defected to, but I was too ashamed to go back. In the end that wasn't the life for me. So something called me here". Kixi stopped again as she wiped a tear from her eye and continued. "It felt strange, but it had felt that that calling had happened before and under different circumstances and that I had ventured to this galaxy", she paused as she muttered that last word, "And have been here before. Perhaps a dream, but it felt more vivid than that. Infact I feel as if I've been here in this temple before. I really can't explain it. Anyway that's probably all nonsense talk", Kixi shrugged. "I know I was guided here by the Force, and that my old life is one I would like to leave behind". Kixi smiled and looked at Coci as they kept walking.

"Do not be too dismissive of your past life, for it informs you now", Coci regarded her, in many ways similar to her own. Coming for a noble House of Sinopi of Corellia, now destroyed. She too had left this life, groomed and destined to take command of the once powerful house. Coci had decided a different life, and set off in search of her own purpose. She found it, and much much more. As Coci considered her own life, thus far, and if she was to die tomorrow, she would consider her life, full.

"The force has guided you here, but ... it is your choosing that makes it so. Some people do not listen to the force guidance and continue on blindly but you have chosen a new path and I and the rest of us here will help you". It is what they do.

By now, Coci and the girl had reached the main entrance. "I am Coci Heavenshield, Master of the Silver Sanctum", she said revealing her identity. "What is your name?", she stopped and turned looking directly at the young girl.

The 2 stopped directly in front of the main entrance. Kixi had been listening attentively at Coci's soothing words. Looking directly at Coci, she replied, "I am Kixi Rajki and I am deeply pleased to meet you". Kixi half nodded her head as she spoke out her name and smiled. She felt a lot more relaxed now and it clearly showed by the posture of her body which until now had been extremely awkward.

Kixi slowly turned her head pointing to the front entrance. "I have so much negative emotions, so much hurt and suffering inside of me, I want to heal myself, I want to rid myself of all this negative energy". There was a short pause. "I want to walk the true path of the light, and I want to be able to help people without hurting others at the same time".

She finished off turning back and facing Coci. As she did so she momentarily closed her eyes and put her hand on her forehead. It was evident that something was causing her uncomfort. She then took her hand away and slowly opened her eyes, looking directly into Coci's eyes. "My apologies, I've been getting these sensations of late. They feel vivid and can be tormenting. I'll be okay. Perhaps with your guidance in ridding myself of all my negative energies that it too will go away".

"I want you to look around us", she said gesturing to the main entrance, and the front door. Coming and going through the large double doors which leads out onto the steps that fall to the lawn, are many Jedi. From padawan to master, force users and not, all there to serve those that require protection and aid. All manner of people, from all walks of the galaxy come together to form a One. The Silver Sanctum.

"You see many members of the Silver Sanctum going about their buisness of the day. All of them come from various histories .. some like yours, other even more steeped in darkness and yet they are here among us, learning and living a new path". She let the your girl take this in before she continued.

"Behind us, is the blue crystal which sits in the main entrance emitting the light side of the force to continue to give us energy and connection to the force, that crystal was embuded with the lightside by many of the founding members, including the former grand master and her best friend, they did this in order for the Jedi to draw upon in an hour of need".

"I will help you control your negative emotions, turn them around so they become a strength for you, not a weakness. We here welcome you .." she finished with a smile. "Do you have any questions of me before I find you some quarters here in the Temple?".

"The former grand master and her best friend, who are they?", Kixi asked out of surprising curiosity. "This place feels strong in the light side, I feel very safe here among all of you. If I'm to become one of you, it's only natural that I ask about the founders", she continued as she stopped looking around and faced Coci once more. "Oh and thank you sincerely for accepting me", Kixi added slightly nodding her head in a gesture of thanks and appreciation.

Coci sat down on the bench that surrounded the blue crystal and invited Kixi to join her. "The founder of the Order of the Silver Jedi, was Master Iella E'ron, together with her best friends, Masters [member="Rasu Gan"] and [member="Sochi Ru"] and many more formed the Order. It has changed since then, I was but a Padawan when I came to join them. Now the grand master is Master [member="Thurion Heavenshield"] and I his second in charge of the Jedi of the Silver Sanctum".

She sifted her position to allow the soft warm breeze wash over her. The day outside looked inviting and maybe the two could go walk in its glory.

"Masters E'ron and Ru are one with the force now", she added with no hiding of sorrow.

Kixi was seated beside Coci as Coci spoke her words. The sorrow in her voice was obvious at when she mentioned the names of Masters E'ron and Ru. Kixi felt deeply for her. She too had lost close people and could easily relate.

Kixi slowly put her hand on Coci's shoulder and spoke. "I feel for you deeply. I know just how hard it is to lose those we are deeply close to". Kixi paused a moment and eyed Coci directly eye to eye as a breeze of wind slowly blew past brushing at the hairs of both. "It's a nice day outside today, if you would like to go for a walk together, you could talk to me about it". Kixi smiled slowly as she spoke. "Or if you prefer not to, the weather is still inviting for a nice walk if you would still like to do that. We could get to know each other better before we start my training".

"Your training will begin tomorrow, today spend the time to get to know the temple and those around you. In reality your training has already began. To train as a Jedi is not just practicing force skills or sabers, but to begin to think differently, to be different to what you once was".

Coci stood up and brushed down her robes. "We shall go for a walk but do not worry for me, I miss them the masters but they would not wish us to mourn them and not to move on", she smiled.

"Tell me what you would like to learn? what are your natural skills?".

The two Jedi stood up and slowly began walking outside. The breeze was refreshing. Kixi's hair wavered as the soft calm refreshing breeze touched her. She felt good, calm and in peace. She hadn't felt so good in a long time.

"I'm good with a sabre, but I'm sure there is much room for improvement", Kixi began saying in response to Coci's question as the two slowly walked towards a small waterfall that was in the garden they were in. However I'm a warring person. That is my problem. I want to help people in need, always, yet my methods are somewhat", she paused as she couldn't think of the correct word, "Um not that civilised. Instead of first trying to find the most peaceful solution that can benefit both sides, I go for the kill, resulting in much suffering for the enemy. Yet they have lives too, families, friends and loved ones. They have a side to the story too, and in helping one group, I've destroyed others. I need to search my feelings, change my ways. I need to know how to fight like a true Jedi of the light".

She paused. Very saddened as she spoke, small tears in her eyes which she tried to hold back but were obvious. "I've hurt myself deeply and emotionally. With my past actions which I've come to regret, I have lost a lot. If only I had listened my father. He would have taught me in the right ways, just like you can. Instead I disgraced him and in turn he disowned me". By now Kixi was crying, tears rushing out of her eyes, nose sniffing. She looked at Coci, "I'm so sorry for this emotional outburst, but at least now you know how messed up my life is and where I need training..... hopefully".

As she listened to her story and felt the emotions welling up once more, Coci moved closer and rested a comforting hand on her shoulders. The emotional out pouring is actually good for her, and Coci will not stop the flooding tears. It is cathartic to cry, to begin the steps to heal and release much turmoil within once soul.

When Kixi had calmed some more, Coci raised her hand and gently brushed away the tears from her face. "You emotions are needed, it is what informs us, but they do need to be control ... all emotions do. So we will begin your training with meditation. Meditation is the way Jedi seek to find themselves and to find solutions to inner problems, both within yourself and of those that effect us from out side forces".

"Come lets sit by the waterfall", Coci moved over and found a place on the edge of the water, her mind considering what form of meditation Kixi should be shown. Coci decided to try two options, to see what type would suit Kixi the best.

Kixi slowly calmed down as she felt the warmth of Coci's hand brush away the tears from her face. "Thank you. You are extremely kind to me". She smiled as she sat down by the waterfall alongside Coci. She felt embarrassed after her outburst despite the Jedi Master's comforting words that crying was actually a good way to release her emotions. True indeed it was as Kixi now felt calm and a lot less tense. "I feel like a child. I guess I'm not used to crying in the presence of others", she said softly still sniffing with her nose.

"I've always found meditation as the best means of relaxation. However lately I've been troubled, and have found it hard to concentrate. Perhaps this could be a beginning point for today's meditation?", Kixi decided to suggest looking at Coci. As she said that she suddenly closed her eyes and put both hands on the sides of her head. She felt a sudden sensation of pain. She thought she had seen an image flash in her mind for a split second, and then it was gone, whatever it was. She took her hands off her head and shook her head. "I'm sorry about that. Don't know what is causing it but hopefully with deep meditation and training we can work in fixing it".

She thought about what style of meditation might be best for Kixi. Seems she has tried the more calmer meditations, which work very well for most. But sometimes, there is another that might be more effective to those that are troubled and unable to focus in a quieter time. Not that Kixi can't do normal meditation, but in conjunction with moving meditation this might work.

"Do you know of Alchaka? it is a personal meditation which can be developed over time into something powerful. Use your emotions to a greater good, don't dwell on them but transform them into some positive. Alchaka might be your answer to channel your emotions and calm your mind".

"There will be no further training today, and yes we had been training. Not always is it throwing rocks and saber about, sometimes other master forget that. But training should be about seeking knowledge all knowledge, not just how a technique works. So ... I would like you to go to the Temple Library and find out as much as you can about Alchaka, many Jedi of old used .. you will see, very powerful Jedi. And when you are ready start to develop your own Alchaka".

"Alchaka, I must say that I've never heard of it. From your description of it, it sounds like it may be a start towards my healing..... Good". She finished off saying with a sweet gentile smile. She stood up, all traces of her tears and her crying now all disappeared, she spoke by saying, "Thank you dearly for today's lessons, guidance and your carring support. Before I head over to the temple library, may you please kindly show me to my quarters".

Coci smiled and stood up. "Of course, I almost had forgotten". The two walked back to the Temple, graced the steps leading up to the main doors, doors that Kixi will become very familiar with over time.

On the upper floors are the residencies of the padawans and knights, masters on the top level. Some will find homes elsewhere, some around the grounds of the SSC other in the city ... while, like herself .. home is on a different planet.

After finding Kixi suitable quarters, Coci bowed to her Padawan and left her to get familiar with her new environment for the time being. A time to reflect on things for her, and take stock of what is to come.

The End.
