COMBAT INFORMATION
- Availability: Common
- Deployment: Mass
- [+] Versatile: With their intensive training in a variety of subjects to include standard infantry training, first aid training, and law enforcement, Peacekeepers can go anywhere and do anything. Their dual role as both standard infantry and rear-line military police also affords the Empire's territory with a great deal of safety and order.
- [+] Attrition: They're quite suited to lasting long in battle. Equipped with durable armor and weapons along with expeditionary gear, they can outlast any opponent. Their training in logistics and combat engineering allows them to easily erect supply lines to rear units or construct impromptu fortifications.
- [-] Dull Blade: They're nowhere near as precise or fast as other units in the Empire. The Peacekeepers are meant to bludgeon the enemy with sheer numbers and firepower - catch them between a rock and a hard place.
- [-] Individual: Individual Peacekeepers are oft your standard line-grade trooper. They're nothing special. They find their true strength in squads or platoons where they can work with one another to unleash intense firepower upon their foes.
An expeditionary Peacekeeper on a flame-warped world.
The Peacekeepers are often the first and last lines of defense you'll see in imperial territory. During peacetime or acting in peacetime duties, they are typically regarded as sector law enforcement. They've the training, jurisdiction, and many have the experience to justly and righteously enact the orders of the Dark Lord himself. During wartime, the Peacekeepers are your average run of the mill infantryman that can go anywhere and do anything.
Their initial training is that of an infantryman, lasting ten standard weeks. Marksmanship, drill, customs and courtesies, first aid, and squad- and platoon- grade tactics, techniques, and procedures are instilled here. Loyalty, duty, and courage are ethos valued above all else. It is here that recruits are broken down and built to be the bulwark of the Dark Lord and the Empire. There is nothing greater than to serve your home, your sovereign, and your nation. The next portion of training is five standard weeks and this entails the law enforcement portion of training. Most of it typically follows that of the techniques and procedures similar to the likes of Sector Rangers - although watered down to a greater degree. After completing this second phase, the recruits have now earned the title of Peacekeeper. As for the third and last section of training, Peacekeepers displaying great aptitude in marksmanship, engineering, medicine, and other specialties will be assigned to their respective roles ranging from designated marksmen, combat engineers, medics, and logistics personnel and then trained as such.
In short, they are versatile and tough soldiers who are undeniably loyal to the Dark Lord and the Empire, operate effectively in groups and organizations but lack in individual strength and precision. Their dual role as infantryman and military police makes them doubly valuable with their capacity for peacetime and peacekeeping roles. Typically, to aid in their law enforcement roles, the Peacekeeping forces are often augmented with Constable-class police droids.
Historically, the Peacekeepers stem from the late Dominion and its service. However, instead of being annihilated by the might of the sovereign Sith Empire, their members and organization have been largely assimilated into the ranks of the Imperial Legion. Oft seen as auxiliary and garrison troops, there are mixed feelings within the organization. Some Peacekeepers welcome their new overlords while others grit their teeth and crave the chance to escape its clutches. Most of the dissenters have fled their ranks and have become deserters, and those who remain plan on being warped into the bulwark of the Empire's defense.
The organization of the Peacekeeping system is as follows:
- Fireteam: 4-5 Peacekeepers, typically led by a Corporal.
- Squad: 10 Peacekeepers, typically led by a Sergeant.
- Platoon: 30 Peacekeepers (3 Squads), typically led by a 2nd Lieutenant with a Staff Sergeant as the Platoon Sergeant.
- Company: 120 Peacekeepers (4 Platoons), typically led by a Captain with a Sergeant 1st Class as the Company Sergeant.
- Battalion: 480 Peacekeepers (4 Companies), typically led by a Lieutenant Colonel with a 1st Sergeant as an enlisted advisor. Smallest unit to have staff officers and capability to operate autonomously.
- Regiment: 1,920 Peacekeepers (4 Battalions), typically led by a General with a Sergeant Major as enlisted advisor.
