Strengths
- | From The Shadows | Members of the Penumbral Order are seasoned assassins, having spent decades to centuries perfecting their craft in the arts of assassinations, espionage and subterfuge, making each and every one of them a lethal force to be reckoned with, even compared to that of Force Sensitive individuals. They are hyper lethal, cold-blooded, and ruthless killers that act without hesitation and mercy.
- | Experienced Assassins | Every full-fledged member of the Penumbral Order are seasoned Anzati assassins, meaning that each one is a force to be reckoned with. They will be watching you long before you can realize or take note of their presence, and more often than not by the time you do realize they are after you, it will be too late.
- | Assassins, not Warriors | The Penumbral Order has trained in the art of assassination; while they are capable as individual fighters, they are not designed for large-scale combat, and their numbers are not suitable to serve as a fighting force in any capacity. The moment they are exposed and lose their element of surprise, they have a tendency to retreat back to the shadows.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Penumbral Order is a clan of purely Anzat assassins that have existed for many centuries, dating back to the days of the Old Republic, and led by powerful matriarchs that have served as the heads of the order for many centuries, recruiting the most gifted and talented of their species from the numerous Anzat clans that exist on their homeworld and beyond. The latest of the matriarchs is Kedra Rashe, having lived through the days of the Galactice Republic/Empire to present day, and also the former mother of Kor Vexen.
The Penumbral Order operates much similarly to that of mercenaries, offering their assassination services and members to aid those who are willing to pay the price they ask. The higher quality the prey, the better of course for Anzat - both to hone their skills as well as acquire precious and refined 'soup'.
The Penumbral Order has no place for the weak within their ranks, many young Anzati showing a lack of potential or aptitude being left to die. This is to ensure that their numbers are filled with only the best, and to ensure that their order is safeguarded and kept in good hands in case the matriarch is killed or dies. Their code and existence have been kept as a closely guarded secret, and uttering their name casually could be the last mistake one makes.
The latest development of the Penumbral Order resulted in their exposure on Anzat after the Sith Empire had laid claim to the planet, its coven revealed by the late Kor Vexen, one of their own thought to have died long ago during a raid roughly around the formation of the Galactice Empire following the fall of the Republic. The Penumbral Order had much of its numbers culled in the ensuing slaughter, a show of dominance that Kor Vexen displayed that resulted in the reuniting of himself and the matriarch.
The members of the order had been given a simple ultimatum; complete and utter fealty to solely Kor Vexen or annihilation. With this, they pledged loyalty to Kor Vexen, a loyalty that has since passed on in his death to Darth Bellum. Since then they have kept to the shadows, having faded into obscurity until they are once again called upon.
