Ax'no
Mystical Caprine
“Baraz, what can you tell me about the Anubians?” Briga asked from her new office in the Temple of Ax’no on her home planet of Iktotch. In her quest to widen the reach of her religion past the Narvath sector, Briga had done some cursory research on which other species had a pantheon of gods and goddesses beyond just the ubiquitous and mysterious, Maker.
“A droid has a “ Maker,” she’d complained earlier to Baraz, her Iktotchi assistant. “We have the omniscient wisdom and creativity of the goddesss, Ax’no.”
“The Anubians reside on Ankhypt. Their gods… not sure if they have goddesses, but yes, their gods have allowed magic and sorcery to flourish within their ranks. Much like Ax’no, My Priestess.”
“Is the race welcoming to outsiders?”
“I am negotiating with their ambassador for a visit soon.”
“Very good. If they accept prepare the Spectre for the journey. I want to hear no more about them until I arrive as I would like the Anubians themselves to explain their culture. I’d rather not rely on some holonet study full of secondhand accounts and missing facts,” she said dismissively.
After a few days of deliberation, Priestess Tiin finally wrangled a meeting with the intriguing canine species, specifically a warrior named [member="Se-khem-ka"], The Desert Shadow. The warrior would then take Briga to meet the ruler of Ankhypt, [member="Ankharbis the Great"]. Much like the Caprine mystic was to her species, the powerful Anubian was venerated by his people as a God-King. Although his lineage was firmly implanted in a line of Pharaohs, where Briga merely assumed her position through the divination of Council Elders.
After landing in The Spectre, her Scarab-Class Corvette, Briga waited for Se-khem-ka and his entourage. She’d brought along two armored Balae warriors and one of her handmaidens, a blonde Asti Caprine named Livna. Shielding her eyes from the blinding sun, she could feel the desert wind of Ankhypt drying her fur-lined epidermis and hoped that the Anubians weren’t superstitious about the liberal use of air conditioning.
