  • Name: Phigu
  • Designation: Non-Sentient
  • Origins: The Cat’s Paw | Greystone Mercantile
  • Average Lifespan: 50 years
  • Estimated Population: Common
  • Description: A new penguin (mixed with dog DNA) breed created with genetically engineering (bioengineering) for those who love exotic animals. They are perfectly perfect pets, unsuitable for living outdoors. Because of their long life, they are also great for being a lifelong companion to someone. They are incredibly gentle creatures who use their claws and beaks to defend at most when their lives are in danger. Excellent, loyal companions for a child or even an adult. Once they commit to someone, they stick with their owner for the rest of their lives. Their plumage is very soft and pleasant to the touch, in addition they love to swim in water, their character and behaviour most closely resemble a dog. Because they multiply slowly, in many cases they are solved by cloning so that a sufficient number of Phigu can be sold or propagated.

  • Breathes: Type I.
  • Average Height of Adults: 40-110 centimetres.
  • Average Length of Adults: 40-130 centimetres.
  • Skin color: Light pink.
  • Hair color: Black and white feather colour.
  • Distinctions: Four-legged birds, smaller or larger, with wings but not flying. They range in size from tiny to larger in height. All this is true for height and length. They all have a stocky body with feathers, their colors are black / white / gray, sometimes there is also a small yellow feather around their neck and head. But this is only true for adult birds, there is no such thing at a young age. They have short, tiny wings with which they can balance and aid their movement while swimming; claws on their paws that are worn while walking. At first glance, it is not possible to tell individuals that they are males or females, and this requires examination. At a young age, their plumage is paler, in adulthood they are more ornate, and in old age they may fade again.
  • Races:
    • Egg-borne: Phigus who were born naturally, i.e. hatched from eggs and have two parents.
    • Artificial: Through cloned or artificially created Phigus, the species reproduces slowly, so this method is also needed to increase the population.
  • Force Sensitivity: Non-Sensitive

  • Friendly and playful: They have been friendly and playful since they were young. They are peace lovers, not aggressive at all (only if they feel their lives are in danger), they are perfect companions and you can play with them at any time. They can be easily taught various tricks and commands.
  • Loyal: In part, they are genetically engineered to be loyal and affectionate like a dog. That’s why they stick with their owner for the rest of their lives.
  • Long life: Their average age is about 50 years, meaning they can live longer than that, so they can be perfect lifelong companions. Who are always there when they are needed and never leave their owner.
  • Water Lover: They really like to stay in the water, it could be a bathtub or a shower. But they are really happy when they can swim in a lake or pool. They are great swimmers and can hold their breath back for a long time.
  • Non allergic: They are bred and developed in such a way that no one has allergic reactions to them.
  • Good mood: They are able to select a pheromone that can specifically create a better mood for intelligent creatures (especially their own owner). The pheromone is able to release the happiness hormone in those affected.

  • Only Fish: Fish is their favourite food, all so true that most individuals in the species don’t even want to eat anything else.
  • Water Lover: This can be cute, as long as the Phigus doesn’t want to take a dip in every existing lake, fountain, or dirty puddle while walking. This allows owners to bathe them again at home because they will be dirty.
  • Walking: They require a lot of exercise, which is why they need to be taken for a walk twice a day.
  • Owner’s lunch: They always want to eat what their owner makes. Even if they don’t like it or just get sick of it.
  • Poison: There are a lot of foods that will make them sick because they are not suitable for them. Such as sweets, chocolate, or any food that contains a lot of sugar. This can make them sick or even die.
  • Non-combat pets: They are just pets, not viable outdoors and are likely to die very soon.
  • Forever pet: Because they are very loyal and their owner is all for them, it is very difficult to bear if they leave them or if their owner dies. In this, they themselves may perish. They are eternal companions, not as long as they are small and cute.

  • Diet: Carnivore; fish is their favourite food or fish-based foods. In addition to fish, they also eat other types of meat, or just what the owner eats, but basically fish is what they suggest to feed them.
  • Communication: They mainly emit beeps and bird-like sounds, like penguins in general. By doing so, they communicate with each other and towards their owner; among themselves, they can even supplement this with body language.
  • Technology level: N/A
  • Religion/Beliefs: They are dog-like creatures, so thanks to this, their lives and happiness revolve around their owner. The owner is first, if they are happy, so is Phigu; and if sad, they will do their best to create a better mood.
  • General behaviour:
    • Social behaviour: Their social behaviour is very similar to that of dogs, partly territorial animals, but because they are not very aggressive, fights do not really occur between them. Social creatures, although their social disposition is not necessarily limited to their own species, they get along well with any other creature or animal. They love it when others deal with them and like to draw attention to themselves. They love to play, bring back the discarded ball, tree branch, or just swim. They can perfectly adapt to the biological rhythm of their host in relation to their own nutrition or sleep needs. They have a lot of movement, so they like to run up and down, or just walk with their owner in the city or parks. While they love the environment, they would not be viable in the wild.
    • Reproduction: They reach sexual maturity at roughly 12-13 years of age. They may look like mammals because of the four legs, but they are entirely birds. This is why their reproduction is characterized by this. They are similar to penguins in that the female lays a total of one egg at a time, which the male lays for about two months. Because the Phigu only lives in captivity and the male may not be there, the eggs are often kept artificially warm so that the little Phigu can develop. Before hatching, the female returns and she continues to lay eggs. They lay a total of one egg a year and usually choose a couple for eternal life for themselves, so their breeding can be slow. For this reason, it is typical to solve by cloning that there should always be an adequate amount of Phigu.
    • Childhood and Maturity: By default, when the parent is together, the offspring are fed together, which communicates with the parents with a loud beep. Phigu is deliberately genetically modified to keep its childhood phase long. This is why they develop very slowly and have baby feathers until they are about ten years old, only then do they replace them with adult feathers. They don’t need to learn from their parents because they instinctively have in them how to walk, eat, swim. Nevertheless, until about 8 to 10 weeks of age, parents feed or need to be fed before they are able to eat on their own. Even after hatching from the egg, they are very playful, they can walk and run immediately. Nor does their playfulness change as they get older. If there is a change in this, it is a clear sign that they are sick.
    • General things: It’s a very playful race who loves to have others happy around them. If they like someone, they gently pinch their hand or foot with their beak, depending on where they reach the person. They like to sleep in bed with the owner if they are allowed to, but they also feel great in a bed on the floor. Thanks to their inherited part from the dog, they would actually eat continuously for as long as possible, so care should be taken not to gain weight. They like to spend most of the day relaxing, even though they sleep much less than a cat. They rest more as they get older, but their playfulness always remains. Based on this, it is also best to assess when they are sick, if they are not in the mood to play, or are in a bad mood, they are certainly.

The Shadow species itself is not too old either, fortunately time passes differently in the Netherworld than in the material world. Due to this fact, the Phigus can also exist. The Greystone Mercantile and its subsidiary The Cat’s Paw also deals with special things, including alchemy and the creation of special beings. Admittedly, the Phigu is a pretty special animal.

Dis, the Shadowcat did not find many positives during some of its visits to the material world, but the Shadowcat loved animals and also liked the fact that many are happy among animals. Later, when it founded The Cat’s Paw with several other Shadowcat companions, their stated intention was to bring joy and happiness to others as well. Luckily for the small team, there was a Shadow who was familiar with alchemy and bioengineering. Dis studied under its wings and helped create Phigu.

They actually wanted to achieve something completely different, but the experiment failed a bit, but the result was this cute pet. Although The Cat’s Paw, like the Greystone Mercantile, favours barter trade, unfortunately it is not possible to solve and obtain everything in exchange, so the proceeds from Phigu can be used by both companies for their own purposes or invested in something else if necessary.

The first individuals of the Phigus were adults, not surprisingly born in the Netherworld. Some might also call them Sithspawn, although there is no evil in those creatures. However, because they reproduce slowly, a larger number of populations had to be solved by cloning. Due to the strange passage of time and cloning, there are already Phigus of all ages that can be purchased.

And Dis and the rest of The Cat’s Paw have made deals with those who sell Phigus in the material world to get a steady share for them, which they can pay them out either in cash or in the form of special items. So you can buy Phigu from a number of companies right now, such as HPI Corporation / Spear (where you can also buy Long Cat), but directly from The Cat’s Paw and Greystone Mercantile, if anyone can find their itinerant buildings.

Fortunately, Phigu is easy to keep, simple to care for, and can be cared for by a simple veterinarian or doctor droid, they don’t require any extra expertise. Their kind and charming appearance can impress everyone, as can their character. And because of their long life, they can be affectionate companions for a significant part of their owner’s life.
