I just got the idea of mixing two of the galaxies deadliest viruses into one super-mutant unit of elite soldiers. Their blades can now act as whips (like an amphistaff), are capable of creating a greater variety of minor minions to assist in the battlefield, and cannot reproduce regularly! Bonuses all around! Though old weaknesses still prevail, and the new vongflesh are vulnerable spots (since they aren't hardened durasteel).

Description: The Plaguebearers are a fearsome elite organization, consisting solely of the Techno-virus Resu, an technological-organic abomination created by their God Neth with a small twist: they are also infected by the Vongspawn virus. Initially, the Resu were immune to the effects of the vongspawn virus being of a silicon consistency, but desperate to find a cure for a plague they started on captured pirates. First they stabbed them through with their unique variety of techno-virus, and then injected the carbon based vongspawn virus into the subject. Once infected with both viruses, the Resu had a platform to cross the interspecies barrier, having the doubly infected human infect one of their own, thus transferring both viruses in the process. No longer restricted to completely mechanical bodies, the Resu could now use the biologically altering virus existing within them, to generate reproductive organs conducive to fertile Resu conception.

Not only did the new Technovongspawn Virus (now named after the Resu themselves, as the Resuspawn Toxin) provide them with the cure to their population crisis, it granted them unique disposition of power. In a single blade, depending upon how they struck an enemy, they could turn them into machine, or vongspawn zombie-esque slaves. If struck with both, the resulting abhorrent monstrosity would grow what was necessary to be useful if the Resu got to rough with the slaughtering. Useless piles of once-biological-scrap were a thing of the past, as now if the body seemed to be broken beyond repair the vongspawn would grow what was necessary, and the techno-virus would convert it into the monster that was intended. The mindless drones however, did not match any degree of prowess that the Resu had, and were in general inferior in every way.

Typical strengths of a Resu:

  • Three times stronger than a human
  • Capable of producing electrical attacks.
  • Every inch of the sharpened body is capable of infecting the flesh of an organic enemy. (such as backspines, tusks, claws, teeth, fleshsword, etc.) [Now in two varieties! Techno, and/or Vong!]
  • Minor lightsaber resistance (three successive strikes to their Technoflesh will typically cut through).
  • Unfazed by gas attacks or lack of atmosphere (breathing apparatus is internalized, and is refilled when submerged in home waters, lasting for several calm days before needing to be submerged again).
  • New Vongflesh now provides natural resistance against most direct force attacks (not fully force dead however).
Typical strengths/weaknesses of an Infected Drone:

  • Is capable of infecting others with vongspawn and/or techno viruses with any sharpened edge of body.
  • Very minor resistance to lightsabers, on swing will be crippling, two swings should do it
  • Very minor resistance to direct uses of the force, not capable of being swayed, and telekinetically influencing them is difficult.
  • Vulnerable in vongflesh areas.
  • Vulnerable to high energy electrical attacks.
  • Not capable of coherent thought.

However, old weaknesses prevail, and their new vongflesh parts have become vulnerable targets due to them not being hardened durasteel. To add all weaknesses into the submission, the following are attacks the new Resu are vulnerable to:

  • Attacks on their back/breathing tubes (filled with water distilled with highly explosive hydrogen).
  • Attacks on Vongflesh (usually situated within joints)
  • Successive lightsaber strikes on Technoflesh.
  • Fire
  • E.M.P. Related attacks will slow down the Resu by temporarily causing cybernetic parts to malfunction. But will otherwise be unharmed due to their natural resistance.
  • Racially blind to the force.
  • Force light (being an alchemical creation)

I'm not sure when I'll find the time to do so, but I've long contemplated turning this into my main account, and role playing solely as a Resu.

I think I'll gradually do a solo dev thread until this completed, and then wash the galaxy in Plague once more.

Anyone that is willing may help :)
