SETTING INFO
Structure Name: The Purple Tent
Classification: Shop, tent
Location: Variable, often found at festivals and flea markets, with a permanent placement found in Masque
Affiliation: The Collector
Accessibility: The Purple Tent, just like any traveling merchant’s shop, has a tendency to move. Unlike the standard merchant shop, this tent appears much harder to find. There's no set schedule as to where and when it'll be. People never quite remember when the tent was put up, nor when it was taken down. Some swear up and down that rather than finding the tent, it finds them. Nevertheless, where the Collector is, you'll likely find the tent nearby.
Description: An unsuspecting merchant’s tent made of patchwork purples on the outside, an eclectic amalgamation of cushions and trinkets on the inside, the tent is a collector’s (and more importantly, the Collector’s) haven. One would note it's bigger on the inside, too. Various pieces of art serve as both decoration and merchandise, including murals of figures of three in a place of honor.
POINTS OF INTEREST
The Foyer: The main flap of this tent opens to an open-concept layout with very minimal organization to the naked eye. The floor is decorated with all sorts of rugs from throughout the galaxy, all of which with some sort of shade of purple incorporated in the threadwork. Mismatched shelving and tables display all sorts of trinkets, most of which are without labels.
The Nook: Where nearly all business is conducted, the nook is an amalgamation of mismatched pillows and cushions, all around a coffee table. It’s a standout in comfort and does well to set the mood of any transactions that may occur.
The Back™: The only distinctly sectioned-off area of the Purple Tent, only one soul ever passes beyond the tent flaps that section it off. Speculations as to what it contains range from containment for any real artifacts that may have replicas on display to whatever makes the tent seem to appear and disappear accordingly.
SECURITY
Medium/Variable Precise security levels are heavily dependent on where the tent is stationed in the moment, as any local security is outside of the tent’s control. Nevertheless, it’s not entirely dependent on locals. There's nothing physically stopping anyone from entering or attacking the tent itself, people just find it challenging to find the place when they have malintent. Or they do find it, only to forget why they were searching. Similarly, while the invited find themselves under the Collector's protection, the un or disinvited find their time within the tent's confines to be riddled with a fog of confusion, their memories of the tent's contents questionable at best when they leave.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
An impermanent structure with a seemingly permanent place among the galaxy, how long the tent has been functional is a question lost to the void. Nevertheless, every so often the tent makes an appearance at a flea market or festival, both a home and place of business for the enigmatic Collector. There's no telling just what one would find among his wares, from rare plants to artifacts that have been previously lost to time. Coin is seldom exchanged in these transactions, the Collector preferring the barter system. Items pass hands for the price of other trinkets, favors, memories, etc.
