The Rains of Zenith Prime

Strask has always loved the rain when he he needed to think. The noise was calming nowadays. Back when he was little, living on the streets of Drev'starn he used to hate it. Used to make him run for shelter. He was getting old now, and a life of work and injuries caused by it were catching up to him. Part of him wondered if he even could run. Staring out the window of the small house he and Nat shared. There was trouble on the horizon.

Alexander was missing. He, along with Laman and Xil hadn't returned for a month. The Imperium needed it's leader. With the short jump through hyperspace between Kolthis and Zenith Prime, Strask had to assume the worst. In light of that, they needed a new leader. And he certainly wasn't it.

There was next to no government now. The Warmaster, the Minister of Finances, and the Imperator were all gone. They needed to fill those spots quick. He sighed, publishing the announcement that the Imperator had died.

The old Bothan assumed people would step into the empty shoes. The question was, who to support.

The Duke looked out on the vast globe of Kolthis, pondering on his mind. In the ashes of Kolthis, the very leaders of the Imperium had vanished. He knew well that without some sort of leadership, every pint of blood spilled on the battlefield would be for nothing as the Imperium would crumble under its own weight. He knew what he had to do. He directed the helmsman of his ship to set course for Zenith Prime. The pinpricks of distance stars streaked as he watched reality go into hyperspace. Not long after, he saw himself floating above the grand capital of Zenith Prime, heart of the Imperium. He opened a holographic channel, and attempted to make contact with Strask Ak'lya. He was the only one left who was in charge of anything.

"Greetings, Strask." He began his message, hoping it would be recieved, "You and I have much to talk about. I would like to speak to you in person. At the Imperator's palace, preferably. Someplace neutral."

He prayed that the old Bothan would recieve his message swiftly. The Alderaanian's mind was flooded with strategies and thoughts he wished to put into motion.

It had been years sense Strask had truly had government duties. Now, he was thrust back into it. They should have consolidated all this before going for Kolthis. Part of him wondered if the battle on Kolthis was a mistake. Should they have waited? Would the troops have let them? They were restless. He's have to find them something to do soon. Restless warriors were never good.

"Greetings, Strask." The voice caused him to turn around. The holocomm was playing. It must have picked up the call automatically. Odd.

"You and I have much to talk about. I would like to speak to you in person. At the Imperator's palace, preferably. Someplace neutral." He smiled. It sounded almost like a trap.

"Who is this again?" he asked, somewhat confused. He recognized the voice, but wasn't sure they had been formally introduced. He looked familiar. Maybe... Alderaan? Hmm.
