When I Was A Young Warthog
Intent: A tangible symbol of membership as a senior peer in the Sith Order.
Development Thread: None
Manufacturer: Velok the Younger
Model: The Red Amulets
Affiliation: Each Red Amulet is held by one of the mutually acknowledged senior Sith Lords of the Order. Ownership of a Red Amulet implies recognition as a peer with a personal power base. Some owners of a Red Amulet may include [member="Darth Voracitos"], [member="Tirdarius"], [member="Darth Carnifex"], [member="Anaya Fen"], [member="Sirella Valkner"], [member="Darth Vitium"], [member="Reverance"], [member="Matsu Xiangu"], and [member="Darth Prazutis"], though tokens may be passed down or new ones made as other Sith Lords prove their worth.
Modularity: No
Production: Semi-unique
Material: Setting: alchemical metal. Stones: corrupted soul diamonds forged from the bodies of Sith traitors and Jedi.
Strengths:
- Legitimate possession of a Red Amulet is a mark of seniority and cautious respect.
- A holder of a Red Amulet can see in the dark.
Weaknesses:
- The Red Amulets are very durable, but not nigh-indestructible on the level of many alchemical objects. They are objectively less durable than your average Sith sword, for example.
Description: Few issues have caused more dissent among the Sith than questions of legitimate leadership. The modern Sith Order takes the following position. Many of the Sith Order’s luminaries would not willingly bow to a Dark Lord, due to various experiences of their own. Many have been leaders themselves, at the highest levels. Thus, the Sith Order’s most important decision-making structure is comprised of autonomous Sith Lords with their own power bases. They come together, as holders of the symbolic Red Amulets, to consult on matters of mutual concern, such as collective threats or very serious internal infighting.
A Red Amulet signifies that either the other Amulet holders or a previous Amulet holder have deemed a Sith Lord worthy to be considered a peer. Accession to the rank of Lord does not guarantee possession of a Red Amulet. Worthiness is generally determined through respect, wit, personal skill, and the capabilities of one’s power base. Amulets are either inherited (given from a dying Lord to a worthy successor) or granted by the group as a whole.
The Red Amulets have only a single minor Force imbuement: like the Rings of Aza’zoth, they allow their holders to see in the dark, with a commensurate boost to depth perception.
Primary Source: Heavily influenced by the tokens of the Brethren Court in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' films.
