Description: After [member="Seydon of Arda"]'s extensive service to members of the Silk Group of Companies, and facilitation of Silk's advance into Levantine space, Silk created a second Reliquary-class vessel, its most exclusive line. The Relentless is a proof-of-concept vessel for several advanced and experimental technologies. In terms of conventional weaponry, the Relentless only has one weapons emplacement with a very limited field of fire. It also lacks the first Reliquary's comprehensive loadout of unconventional weaponry. It is, however, quite durable and built for exceptional speed, with a dual reactor system and an advanced condensed-matter composite engine housing to avoid structural damage from the powerful engines' vibrations. When the vessel's engines go to full burn, any aural sensor registers the vessel's passage as a gut-deep roar.

The T-2000 Otherdrive was procured by one of its creators, former Fringe High Councilor Rave Merrill, who owes rather a lot to Seydon in a professional sense. Merrill chose the name.

Like the first Reliquary and Silk's elite-production Winter Eagle cutter, this vessel is coated with a thin layer of impervium. It is not, by any stretch of the imagionation, a warship, despite its advanced durability. Its shields are merely average.

The Silkworm Hypertransit Package has been installed with highly guarded coordinates for breach points in the galactic edge hyperspace disturbance. These coordinates were obtained by Jorus and Alna Merrill from a Brodo Asogan extragalactic expedition, and by Je'gan Olra'en and Nohemi Allaneh from an ancient Selabite star map.

The main hold is relatively small, only five metres by four metres by three metres, but -- assuming the cargo can fit into that hold and various nooks and crannies -- the vessel's immense structural integrity, powerful engines, and top-of-the-line repulsorlifts allow it to carry a full 300 tons, comparable to a high-end light freighter half the size. The cargo hold also has its own internal tractor beam for levitating very heavy things.

The interior of the ship is crowded, not luxurious. Access to various chambers, while quick if practiced, can require movement other than walking; the cockpit, for example, is set somewhat above the nearest deck level. The vast majority of the ship's available space is taken up by its advanced systems and the dual reactors necessary to power them. Fortunately, the Otherdrive only drains power in the handful of seconds of its use, and a good portion of the Silkworm module is only useful in hyperspace.

Right, quite a lot going on here.

The way I see it, you have six advanced systems tacked onto a ship with altered weapons, expanded cargo hold (70 to 600 tons) and while each of the systems were deved out, this ship wasn't. It's like you've got accessory packs bolted on to accessory packs. Granted I can see the meditation chamber turning into the freezer and the muscle chair room to a small machine shop, but this is simply trying to do too much too well without significant effort in a dev thread.

That said I like it, it's a straight up utility ship for monster and artifact hunting, I just think it has a little too many specialty systems. I'm not even sure how a spirit ocarina or that holocron got here either.

This is a unique high-end ship produced by a luxury shipbuilder that specializes in exploration gear. It's got advanced sensors, targeting systems, and navigation systems, plus an Otherdrive, which is a specialized but not unreasonable loadout considering it's got one weapons emplacement for sixty metres of ship. I've halved the cargo space. As for the gear lockers, that's for the user's ease of reference and isn't relevant to starship stats. I've removed the Force-nullifying detention cell and cited the primary development threads which worked towards this proof-of-concept ship.

I counted the non-standard drives, sensors (which include a grav-field trap), and add-on packs in my six, just wanted some clarification on a few of them. I believe the original design also included a force-cage so that wasn't a problem. It being unique and high-end probably gets you three advanced systems, well two with a 0.5 hyper (which usually requires a thread on its own but you did make a system for it). If you were to drop anything I'd prefer it to be the tractor shrouds or more combative attachments but what I'd really like is some reasoning behind why all these things were put on here. Just what is Seydon doing that he needs all that?

I get that this is a poc ship, but most of this technology is already several years proven and this is a huge variation of an already high-end ship.

Seydon's profession involves dealing with Sithspawn of every description, Imperial splinter groups, and the Big Bad Threats in general, in regions of the galaxy where reliable hyperroutes are very rare, and extragalactic transit is a possibility. For example, this and this.

As for most of the technology being several years proven, while things like tractor shrouds and countermeasures are very standard fare aboard tramp freighters, most tractor shrouds are jury-rigged, and this one represents the first commercially available model I've ever seen. While it wasn't approved as an advanced system (it's no more effective than the average tractor shroud), it's new technology. Likewise, while the countermeasure technology is very new, it is no more effective than average countermeasures, just safer. I can't think of a reason why a cap drain would be counted as an advanced system. The Angel Eye, Silkworm, and Otherdrive certainly aren't several years proven; those submissions were made primarily for this ship.

As [member="Ayden Cater"] is currently not present, and it's been over two weeks since his last post, I will step in to fill his hat - an impossibility, but I'll try my best. ;)

There are no glaring issues from what I can see. A lot of toys for one ship, but none that would give it an edge in combat capabilities.

I like it. Approved.
