Kallous brought his starship out of hyperspace, the stolen vessel popping into existence just outside the atmosphere of an isolated, nameless moon on the edge of Sith space. The moon was habitable and did support life, but there were no settlements on its surface. If there was civilization to be found it was primitive, because the moon didn’t even have a proper name, only a number, VHS-1976.
He brought the ship into the atmosphere and found a suitable landing zone. A small clearing at the base of a mountain where his starship could land without any problems. He didn’t think to hide it, because this was a remote part of space, and he doubted anyone would come for him here. Which made it perfect.
He had just left the world of Veridia, after having a brief conversation with a Jedi Padawan, who had given him some profound advice that he intended to take. But he didn’t want to get tangled up in the Jedi, and that Padawan had a master on that same world that he didn’t want to meet.
So he’d left in favor of a more isolated place. This time he was more careful about his selected destination. Making sure that there were no settlements of any sort on it, that way he wouldn’t be bothered this time while he meditated.
He ascended the mountain a ways, finding a shallow cave halfway up the slope. It was away from the elements, and it was quiet. Perfect.
Kallous sat on his knees in the middle of this cave, and closed his eyes.
He remembered the Padawan’s advice, don’t think. Feel.
And so he did, a few moments taken to clear his mind of his invasive thoughts, and instead turning all of his attention inward, letting his emotions go, letting his feelings wrestle. And letting them fill him so he could parse them through and reach the answer he was looking for.
