The Return of the Politician

Khantor Ruu

Coruscant

After two long years, Senator Khantor Ruu returns to Coruscant. Taking the first few steps off the freighter ship, he made sure to brush the loose dirt off his elegant robe, the red and brown fabric blending in with his skin and hiding the blood of the crew who had been slaughtered during the flight over to the city world. It surprised the Togruta to see how much had changed since he was here previously, he had heard rumours on Yavin Four that war had broken out in the galaxy but he hadn't thought it would have affected the Republic so largely. Massive security transports filled the sky, with what seemed to be triple the amount of security personnel since his last visit, roaming the streets. Khantor wasn't worried about them though, and neither would he worry about the Jedi on this world either. At first he had been apprehensive about returning. Surely they of all people would be able to detect his dark aura, his training on Yavin Four of course had strengthened and defined his powers, cleaning up the mess of a being he had been to begin with. His Master had taught him how to hide his Force presence, and to the Sith's delight he had found he had quite the talent for it, mastering the ability after only a month. So with that said, the apprehension had left him as soon as he had passed the first Jedi Knight in the Coruscant customs.

It was not long before the massive structure that was the Senate Tower loomed in front of him. It had been too long since he had walked within its halls, and debated with the many other politicians within. The Senator wondered if anyone even remembered young Khantor Ruu. Well if they didn't now, they were going to in the next few days. The Togruta took a moment before entering, gathering himself, reminding himself of the reason for his return. Soon he would unleash his wrath but first he must be patient and cunning, something he had learned that he was quite good at on Yavin Four. Taking a deep breath, the Togruta stepped forward, taking the first few steps down the long and elegant carpet that led to the entrance of the Senate building, walking past many beings as they gazed at the new, fresh eyed Senator of Shili. It's good to be back, he thought, smirking slightly.
