Public The Rise of The Union

The Fel Union:
Part 1: The Coup that changed everything, and the Formation of the Union
Emperor Alexander II, Emperor of the Fels. Ascending the throne after his late father, and only ever being in line because some cousin he didn't know, on a world he never heard of, was killed after an absolutist coup. That's what he was told at least. Alexander II was a libertarian and preferred the laisse-faire style of governance, ruling for his people and seeing himself as a servant of them, but in the old system he had no real power. The power in the old system came from one man, William Harris the Iron Premier. When the old Emperor began leading the Fel people into a recession, and he became more and more absolute, William Harris is the one that stepped in and launched a coup. The original idea was to dethrone the old Emperor and find someone new to fill his place, and Harris felt that he had some justification to charge the Ex Emperor with treason for the way the Fel Citizens suffered under his rule.

William Harris went from some Admiral to the Military director in charge of an Empire in decline over night. William Harris was smart, in that he knew the legitimacy of the empire came from the name of the ruling family, and he knew that he alone could not claim to rule this empire uncontested, he needed someone to be the face of the Empire. So, looking into the family tree, he tracked down Alexander Fel, a noble of the royal line who was of semi-close decent and not too far away. Alexander was a humble man and after being crowned, did everything in his power to give back to the people. Sadly, his reign was a short one. Following Alexander I's ascension as Emperor, William Harris was elected as Premier of the Empire. Harris was a military man, and after the instability and coup's, his no nonsense message appealed to people, but before long the "stability" that he brought was stripped away. The Emperor was a sick man, and within a few months into his reign he ended up dying in his sleep leaving Alexander II, his son, to come in as his successor. There was a crisis however. The Premier was shot, and according to the new constitution, if the Premier was incapacitated, the Emperor temporarily acts as head of government until a replacement can be found. Well, Alexander II hadn't been coronated, hence the problem. Suddenly there was a rush to formally crown this man Emperor so that he could take the reigns and steer this sinking ship back to shore, but on the day of his coronation, disloyal members of the military high command stormed the palace and attempted to assassinate Alexander.

The attempt was unsuccessful, and eventually the Premier recovered and returned to office, but so many crisis in such a short time had an affect on people, and they were beginning to radicalize with groups such as the 'Worker's Union' and 'Fel Military Union' quickly gaining support. William Harris and his cabinet were too distracted with trying to rebuild the Empire to notice the storm brewing right below the surface, and following a failed invasion of a nearby system, the people were fed up and revolted. Alexander II was captured and forced at gunpoint to dissolve the Empire and form a new union, and following pressure from the military, he took up the ceremonial role of emperor of the Fel Union. Though his title invoked a sense of power, he was little more then a puppet of the military and now all-powerful workers unions, and should he want to keep his head, he would do what they said. The Military and unions quickly mobilized the people to pack up shop, seeing Osseriton as a cursed world that would only lead to more suffering. The populace crowded colonization ships and relocated to the Utapau system, the people rallying behind their Emperor with hopes of a better life while the newly formed Red Guard pulled the strings from the shadows.

Calling all Workers:
Part 2: The Great Revolution and the start of something special.
The transmissions had been blaring for weeks, and comrades had been traveling around the galaxy spreading the word of the great revolution and the successful union on Utapau. The plans were set, and all were invited to view this experiment. The people had colonized the unhospitable surface of Utapau and began pulling moisture from the ground to create sprawling fields of crops and a nice sized settlement, and overlooking the people from within a sperate section of military installation on the hill sat the Emperor's Palace. Though that's what it was called, it was truly the parliament building, of which a wing was reserved for the Emperor's residence.

Alexander looked into a mirror, straightening the purple sash which draped over his khaki colored military
uniform. Though not personally a fan of it's looks, this uniform was the one selected by director of the Red Guard, and pictures would be taken of him here for use on propaganda.

Alexander put some product on his hand and ran in through his hair, slicking it to the side before taking a step back and looking at himself in the mirror. He looked himself up and down, mumbling something before having his trance broken by a loud pounding at his bedroom doors. The door swung open and a man in a khaki military uniform and a cap stepped through carrying a folder.

"Sir, it is time to go, the ceremony has begun and the Director says you must leave now to avoid being late."

"Yes, of Course." Alexander grabbed a cloth and wiped the little bit of hair product still in his hands onto it, and turned towards the door.

OOC: This Thread is a political one. All workers from across the galaxy are welcome to attend the Workers congress. This event has food, drinks, and speeches. The Idea is to attract anyone interested in this new project.

Objectives: Have a speech, Drink, Bring your own objective.

Ten Loop was most assuredly aware that the Emperor was about to make a big speech, but he was almost done with checking the last vessel. The leader of Javelin Squadron was quite hard to pin down once he was off the surface, but that was as near opposite as could be to how he was on the ground. Everything was taken slowly and deliberately. He put the utmost care into the work he was doing, and as such, rarely did anything he fix break on its own. He knew he likely would miss a bit of the speech, and Mo was always quick to remind him.

"Eleven minutes." The droid reminds him with a few chirps and trills.....that he ignores. He's just checking the joints of the couplings on his craft, watching for any signs of wear and tear. A little bit of damage is fine, usually cosmetic in nature. He reconnects another set and moves on once more. "Ten minutes."

"Yes, I hear you Mo. I'll be done near that time." This simply needs to be done. If he puts it off, he'll just end up busy with something else, and then power will fail when it is needed most.
