The Root of all Primeval

For the most part everything that the Primeval is, is quite open-ended. As you can see I haven't exactly gone in-depth on the details and have left a lot to be interpreted or done as one pleases.

Although between [member="Loxa Visl"] and I a few details have been discussed. For one, this time around the Primeval will not be forging any strong alliances. Cooperation is fine, and will probably exist, but it will all be on an as-needed basis. No unconditional relationships between the Primeval and other groups on a faction level.

Yet that is all minor details as far as storytelling goes, and although we have an ongoing thread and another being planned I am very interested in hearing what brought each of you to the faction. As well as what you're looking to get out of it.

So spill the beans! Give us your thoughts.

Heard good things about the Primeval, missed playing the faction game, thought when they were rebirthed that it would be interesting to see how Aria fit in and lo, I joinedeth.

I like to challenge my characters and I like seeing how different things shape their stories. The Primeval's general story direction seems very intriguing to me - and from what I've seen/heard the focus is chiefly on story - hence why I'm here. I'm just hoping for new story opportunities and the like.

EDIT: Oh, and creepy cultish rituals!

Last time the Primeval was active, there was a strong focus on Warlords and world building. I want you guys to keep the aspect of World building, but stray away from Warlordships, and focus more on the idea of a Priesthood. There were many within the Primeval that didn't exactly adhere to the faith, and were in it for the power structure. This is ultimately (IC) why eventually the Primeval collapsed, it entrusted too much power to individuals who did not share the goals of the truly faithful (or who had a heretical twisted version in their views of the faith, *ehem*).

So I say, more power to the faith, and greater effort to "indoctrinate" any who are 'loyal' yet not yet faithful.

That would be my two cents :)

Honestly, I'm rather new to this site. I wasn't around during the first Primeval roll out but I hear good things about the previous faction.

I agree with [member="Darth Carnifex"] that the strong alliance condition to be amended. My reasoning behind this is for storytelling and relationship building with other factions. I'm not saying rally to their side in an Invasion, but work together for the sake of building up Worlds and the galaxy where the Primeval will be stationed. A Non-Aggression Pact can even be implemented. Free Trade Agreements and I mean by that certain restricted materials will fall under the jurisdiction of other factions. With a Free Trade Agreement concept, members can conduct their Open Roleplay threads on said planets without worry of outside faction interference.

I came to the faction looking to build on my character. At first, as I always played my characters in the past on previous sites, I was going the whole non-religion aspect. But after reading up on the Primeval and hearing good things about the old faction, it seemed like a great chance to try my hand at something new.

What I'm looking to get out of it is good story and friendship within the faction and the members. I want to write in a faction that has done something I never seen done before, which excites me greatly to no end.

The reason behind this is that the Primeval is not a faction about politics. [member="Fatty"] raises a few excellent points, and I found myself experiencing the same things he describes in his post. Quite frankly the alliance with the One Sith and Techno Union distracted from a lot of roleplay, because we had to engage in storylines to cater to interested parties between the two factions.

If someone wants a character that has an interest in politics, they are free to do so. We won't be any less inclusive if they are. But that's all on them, and won't be for the rest of the faction. If you want to sit on a moon or a planet and be its ruler you can do that, but that's your personal story and it's up to others to decide how much or little they wish to be involved with it.

Otherwise the focus on the faction will be the occult aspect, the exploration of the unknown, the pursuit of ethereal power and all goals that incorporate these aspects. We will be trying to convert those who are loyal to--but not believers--of the Primeval, and indoctrinate them to the cause.

That is the story we want to tell, and no one is being forced to go down a path they don't like. Simply put... The Primeval is what it is, and it's not a faction to be molded into something else.

TL;DR Personal goals are cool and we total support them, but the faction itself will have very little to do with politics.

Personally the Primeval's shying away from alliances does make a lot of sense to me. In essence they are a group of religious fanatics, its usually quite hard to negotiate with such wicked, twisted cultists who have their own agendas. Any connection at all I could see wouldn't last very long before someone got a knife in their back.

I came here to restart Nick with the Primeval. He was here for a time, but left IC to live with his wife, but OOC I was on an LOA. He joins now because he has plans that he wants done, and believes in the faith that the Gods will aid him in bringing the Primeval to a new level within the Galaxy.

What I want out of this? A good story, and maybe make a few friends, but make a lot of enemies.
