The Roots Of The Force (Seth and Amaryllis)

If someone was to peer into the mind of Seth. At this exact moment. One might mistake him for a simple minded fool. As his thoughts could be simplified to. ~Plants are pretty, animals are cool, and life is mesmerizing.~ Whether in that specific order or not, was overall irrelevant. Though if one was to judge Seth's intellectual capability off his current train of thought. They'd find themselves overwhelmed when the truth of the situation was revealed.

Seth was probably one of the most adaptive and quick witted members of the human species which existed. He had to be in the upper ranks to survive on his lonesome as a teenager. Though since becoming a padawan in the silver jedi order. Seth at the age of nineteen was learning to think beyond himself, and the need for survival. His favorite way to do this was to meditate.. As one could not begin to understand the wonders around them. Until they took the time to connect to them.

Seth therefore was currently found on the ground of a planet known as Akiva. Upon it's northern jungle regions. Dressed in a light grey, almost smoke grey colored hooded robe, with raven black trimmings. The hood up and covering his head, and in turn his facial features A pair of smoke grey pants, and black hiking boots upon his feet. Beside him rested a pair of hilts. One smaller than the other, with a slightly differing color scheme. Though both holding a primary black color, both slim, and both simple in design so not to draw much attention. In fact one would still actively have to be looking for such things, or hold oftly keen eyesight to pick them out.

Seth was busy reaching out with the force. An act another individual would sometimes consider dangeous. Though a practice Seth had done many times before, and would do many times after today. He was feeling the world and it's inhabitants, anything that took it's time to feel him back. Would be looking into a storm full of energy, even at a distance. Seth held a rare gift amoungst the force. Not one entirely unheard of... And one which still had much shaping to be done. Though powerful all the same.

Seth was following root systems through the trees, and various herbs. Feeling the vibrations of some of the winged insects, while observing the scuttling of other ground stationed insects. He occassionally turned into the fear of those which are being prayed upon, the anguish of those unfortunate enough to be caught. The thrill of the predator, the satisfaction of a meal well deserved. He felt the wind as it passed, the warmth and humidity of the ecosystems atmosphere.

In the distance signs of civilization both past and present lingered. Leaving a taint upon the otherwise primal environment. Though Seth did do a drive by of those entities as well. That was not where the force willed his conscious towards. No, he was seeking out a small island chain towards the south. Though as he crossed the waters, on his way studying the fish making about their daily lives. His attention was drawn back to himself. Someone was nearby, and while he didn't sense a threat arising from this entity he opened his eyes. Then turned in the direction of the approaching being. Patiently awaiting to see what turned out from this encounter.

Coming back to Akiva was necessary. She had only been gone for a few days but she needed to find a way to say goodbye. This wasn't her home anymore - and there was so much stuff outside of Akiva. Who even knew it had a name to begin with?! Mesmerized by just how much she had missed, Amaryllis had chosen to take a few days before she rejoined the crew of Bastion to help the people of the galaxy.

Galaxy. What a strange word... Important word, she guessed. Well, she understood the language at least. And was slowly fixing it in herself. Basic was hard but she was getting it. Slowly but surely. Even this thing called a Force. Something she apparently had, and didn't even realize it.

How strange is that? She was glad with it, though. Otherwise, she likely would have starved, especially being so young.

But as she scavenged through her old home, she took a moment to simply feel the warmth, the humidity. Things she may not come to again. To visit her mother's grave - and heck, maybe she'd find out who her father was one day. Well, assuming he wasn't dead like her...

Amaryllis thoughts were interrupted by a two legger, though. One like her. Her eyes widened as she ducked behind a tree, carefully watching him. He had seemed to stopped, and turned towards her. Did he already know she was here? How did he know?! She hadn't been that loud...

Had she? At least he didn't seem mean, or angry, and he didn't have the red pointy thing. With a deep breath, she chameleon crawled out from behind the tree as she curiously watched the man. Of course, with her attention span, it dashed between him, the fish flopping around in the water, and back to him. "Hello," she said quietly, with clear intrigue.

As soon as the individual stepped out from behind the tree. Seth needed to take a moment of pause. This individual was completely and utterly perplexing to him. Both for her beauty, and the fact Seth wasn't quite sure what race she even was. In fact it took a slight moment for him to even register she spoke. Causing him to blink and then blush out of embarrassment, he was being rude.

He was glad for these moments he wore a hood over his head. He stood as he used the force to slip his blades up to their proper holders, and hiding spots within his outfit. Before he bowed politely to the other. "Hello." He replied in a calm voice before he straightened himself up. "My name is Seth Brackson. Apologies if I have found myself unintentionally hindering your journey." He added in a calm tone. While he turned to the fish nearby. Then returned his attention back to her.

Amaryllis cautiously watched the man. If there was anything more dangerous, it was two leggers. She had learned that lesson even before she had become stranded on the planet. Indeed, tow leggers could manipulate, think, and make decisions that many animals could not.

But he didn't seem upset, or scary, or mad, or anything dangerous. The hood was suspicious but otherwise, she had no reason to believe he was mean. He even introduced himself! She gave a smile, "This one... Am Amaryllis," she spoke in the thick accent of... Well, it couldn't really be placed. She had only recently began to actually speak basic since her childhood, after all.

"Is pleasure meet Seth," she would say with a nod. Then, she'd shake her head. "Nooo! Was just saying goodbye to... Akiva. What doing you here?"

Seth nodded while he did his best to follow along. This was very intriguing at the least. Kind of cute, if Seth was to ever classify something as being so. Though he took a moment of decision. Then carefully reached up and lowered his hood. To do his best to try and make sure this interaction went as best as it possibly could. His sea green hues studying her.

"It is a pleasure to meet you as well Amaryllis." He responded. While he looked to the trees and wilderness surrounding them. "It is more just a coincidence. I wanted to visit a place full of nature. Akiva fitted the bill." Seth replied. While he returned his attention to her. "Why would you need to say goodbye to the planet?" He inquired in a curious tone of voice.

Amaryllis watched the man with the hood carefully. Still unsure of him, she gave a smile as he pulled down his hood. His eyes caught her attention first - sea green hues, she had never seen eyes like that before. Then again, had she really seen anything so far? Nah, not really. Her eyes danced towards the trees, hearing and seeing a pack of monkeys bouncing around.

In either case, she gave a nod. "Akiva... Beautiful. But deadly," she confirmed after a moment. Plenty of dangerous animals roamed about. In response to his question, she had to think about it - and so she crouched, head slightly tilted to the side. "Lived here long time, no more live. Live in... Ship of space? Space... Ship." She gave a nod.

Seth studied her and then looked around. "The deadliest of things often times are the ones who hold the most beauty. Be it in the beauty of appearance, or the beauty of design." He replied to her calmly. While he walked up to a plant. Then focused and dug it up using the force. Careful not to touch the plant itself. While he wandered over to another area and planted it. "The roots were about to find conflict with another one of the herbs." He noted simply. Before he stood and wiped his hands off. Returning his attention to her.

"Travelling has it's own drawbacks. You might consider keeping this place as a home. I am not saying give up adventuring. I enjoy doing so myself. Though trust me having a place to return to is invaluable." Seth expressed in a calm tone. While he smiled warmly. "So, would you happen to know a way I may get to the islands south of here?" He inquired curiously. Hopeful she would have.an idea how tp navigate there if this was her home world.

(Sorry! My tags are being dumb.)

She tilted her head more at his comment. She gave a little nod afterwards as she watched him dig up a plant, and relocate it. He was right - beauty and deadliness often came together. The prettiest plants had the worst poison, the most beautiful animal may have the sharpest teeth, and so forth. She disliked bugs the most, though - the small spiders that crawled about the jungle, with their variety of colors. She shook off the image and brought her mind back to the situation.

She smiled as she crouched next to the plant as she gently made sure the roots were planted, firmly, into the ground.

She thought about his words. Maybe... But, she had lived here for so long. And had missed so much. "Perhaps one day," she confirmed after a moment of silence. But his secondary question made her nod, "The sea not deep between islands, can walk," she said as she began to walk towards the southern isles. "Follow, I help."

(No worries! My tags do that as well every now and then. :3 )

Seth nodded his head. "I would be very appreciative of that." He replied and began to follow her lead. He fell silent for a period of time. Letting the nature around them take it's turn to drive the conversation. After all it had many tales to tell when one was restrained enough to let it do so. Seth glanced at his new found acquaintance and smiled. It was a pleasant happenstance when one found themselves amid company as kind natured and unique as Amaryllis. Especially, when in a galaxy where wars raged around them. Smugglers ran underground operations. Almost everywhere you turned. You had some risk of finding yourself injured, or killed off.

Finally. Seth decided to start up the conversation once again. "If you do not mind the intrusion on this subject. How did you find Akiva becoming your homeland?" He inquired. While he pulled out three sharpened diamond shaped metallic meditation stones. Then began to hover them above his left palm and slowly rotate them. He fidgeted quite often. When he wasn't meditating. It was just who he was by nature.

"As well as a less personal question. Are you a fan of canines?" He added. While they walked along. When he wasn't studying Amaryllis. His eyes went to the scenery around them. Both for the purpose of admiration. In addition to situational awareness. To avoid the risk of being prayed upon. By sentient, or non-sentient hostile entities.

In truth, their walk towards the southern islands were likely inefficient as she easily got distracted. A fish here or there would have her wander in the wrong direction for a few seconds before she got herself back on track. Indeed, she enjoyed feeling the water on her feet.

She perked a brow, almost tripping her over her own feet as he spoke. "Oh... Big wreck many years ago. Stuck here for long time," she said with a frown shaping on her lips. Indeed, she had lost her mother that day. And she guessed her father in a way too. It was what it was. She couldn't change the past- and if it hadn't happened, then she wouldn't met [member="Seth Brackson"] or the rest of the crew.

"Was tripped for long time," she said more quietly. "Living in the jungles," she commented once more after a few seconds.

Canines? She tilted her head at his question, "Not sure... Like... Four legged fur friend? Um... Dog?"

Seth didn't seem to concerned about the constant course correction. That his companion for the day seemed to be leading him on. While he waited and listened to her tale. While she did her best to express the reason she ended up on Akiva. The fact she had almost tripped causing the slightest of tension in Seth as he was willing to respond. Made him wonder if he'd crossed a boundary he shouldn't of done so in the conversation.

The frown did in the very least. Prove it had been a touchy subject. He was glad then she was willing to offer the information. Letting him know more about her past, as well as who she was as an individual. Even if a little bit. When she stated she was unsure, and then inquired clarity about what a canine was. Seth nodded his head. "Four legged four friend." He agreed with a warm smile. Not because he was teasing her. For trying to piece together what a canine was. Though because he genuinely liked her definition for it.

"What do you think of them?" He re-inquired. Once he hoped him and her were on the same page. While he looked ahead. To see the progress they had made. Not really all too concerned about it. Though it was something he was curious about.
