STRENGTHS

• Powerful Armament: Like the Invictus, The Ruthless Vanguard is bolstered by a wide cornucopia of weapon systems, gun emplacements, making it a very powerful and very lethal warship. The Ruthless Vanguard is able to deliver a devastating assaults on the enemy and is also equipped with impressive ordnance capabilities. The main armament of the Ruthless Vanguard are its rows upon rows of mighty weapon batteries lining the sides: the Octuple Barbette Turbolasers. These are able to fire a devastating spread over extreme ranges, crippling enemy ships before they even get within range to return fire. If closing on an enemy vessel, missiles fired from the Ruthless Vanguard are equally capable of causing extreme damage.
• Anti-Capital Ion Pulse Cannon: The creme de la creme of the ship’s weapons is its newly implemented Anti-Capital Ion Pulse Cannon, capable of shutting down enemy shields and systems to allow the main armament to destroy the bulwark and framework of the enemy ships.
• Extensive Defenses: Constructed with its unique role in mind, the Ruthless Vanguard was forged from ultra-dense alloy composites. The alloys could only be mined from specific locations throughout the galaxy, and each was further hardened by ballast compression tanks situated on its commander’s home planet. The pressurised environment hardened the alloy, ensuring the superstructure is as solid as a Battlecruiser could feasibly become. Thus, the Ruthless Vanguard became resistant to most forms of damage, but not invulnerable.
• Versatile Battlecruiser: Like the Invictus II, the Ruthless Vanguard is mobile, surprisingly so for its size, but on a lesser scale due to the increased weaponry and the added Anti-Capital Ion Pulse Cannon located midway up the middle of the ship, acting as the main forward weapon battery for engagements.

WEAKNESSES

• Location of the Ion Pulse Cannon: Due to its forward facing position, the Ion Cannon is susceptible to concentrated fire and can act as a breaching point for the ship’s interior.
• Darth Raptious: Despite being a competent commander, both on the ship and on the field of battle, Darth Raptious is a violent Sith and often leaves their charges to their own devices, namely the command of the Ruthless Vanguard itself, most commonly to their second: Rear-Admiral Tyths Lore.
• Rear Blind Spot: Like many warships of the angular Imperial design, the Ruthless Vanguard cannot fire on any ship directly behind it.
• Bridge Tower: The Ruthless Vanguard’s bridge tower serves as a glaring target for enemy vessels.

DESCRIPTION

With Darth Raptious’s sudden rise through the ranks of the Sith Empire, it was only befitting that they would receive a capital ship to command in times of war. Built from the pattern of the Invictus-II, the Ruthless Vanguard can act as either a support ship and an offensive beast, or in some cases both.

The various systems built within the ship, specifically the Communications and Sensor systems, allow the crew to work in seamless unison to assess incoming and outgoing information, calculate the threat level of nearby enemy ships, stations, and planet side emplacements, as well as identify weak points of the aforementioned. Each of the Communications Systems allow those aboard the ship to operate under a number of roles and objectives, from jamming enemy frequencies to hinder communications, to scanning the entire subspace spectrum in less than three hours for useful information.

Aside from the internal systems, the ship is fully capable of massive offensive capabilities. With its Anti-Capital Ion Pulse Cannon and innumerable Turbolaser batteries, the Ruthless Vanguard has the potential to leave little of the opposing enemy ships aside from dispersed wreckage, having done so several times before in rapid skirmishes in space. Several missile batteries and laser cannons also allow the ship to deal out some range of damage if pushed on the defensive, but such an event is normally rare.

Additionally, as with the parent model, the Ruthless Vanguard is fully capable of housing some portion of the Sith Empire’s legionnaires. Aboard the Ruthless Vanguard, these soldiers collectively answer only to Darth Raptious, or the Sith Lord’s betters. Each soldier is fully aware of the Darth’s tendency to lead assaults on the ground, whether such actions are planned or not (the latter more common than one would think), and are fully equipped and capable of dealing with such sudden excursions. Alongside the housing for these soldiers, located in the sub-levels of the ship, rests the brig, most often holding captive prisoners from battles or insubordinate troopers caught questioning the wisdom of their Darth.

As one could tell from its design, the battlecruiser is meant to be employed in large scale engagements, where the sheer weight of firepower spewed from the weaponry can form breaches in the enemy formation and scatter the opposing fleet, or the information gathered by its advanced computer systems can be sent broadband to allied ships to help them turn the tide.
