[SIZE=11pt]The Obliterator was the largest of the Contingency’s assault warships. It sacrifices speed, attack craft defences and hanger for a suite of extremely powerful weapons and defences.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=11pt]Designed to advance directly on an enemy and attack them at very close range. This is slightly offset by its slow speed. However, by using a phasing jump drive it can move towards the enemy once per battle rapidly…at the cost of being unable to fire before and shortly after this is done.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=11pt]The Obliterator certainly has strengths but also weaknesses which can be exploited. Attacks by attack craft, or those which use its slow speed and agility have the best chance of bringing it down.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=11pt]During the terrible battle of SX-192, much of the Contingency fleet was destroyed or consumed by the contained star after it went nova. However, using intelligence from Garnet and [member="Enyo Typhos"] Archangel was able to locate an Obliterator which had been raiding the main galaxy during the battle. The crew had all deactivated once Onyx had been destroyed, so they were able to board with a skeleton crew and direct the ship for repairs and refits.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=11pt]Maintaining a ship the size and power of the newly named Scylla was a considerable effort for Archangel, but through the use of droids it was made possible. The Scylla became the flagship of Archangel’s fleet, able to stand toe to toe with any similar or smaller ship in the galaxy.[/SIZE]
