The Second Teacher [Sirella]

Spencer climbed out of the small survival tent and started a small fire. She looked around and noticed the luscious landscape. It was funny how easily plant life was able to change the scenery. The restoration that had taken place had taken shape and turned the dead planet into something beautiful. Spencer sat in front of the small fire she had created and started to feel the heat, reaching into a pack she pulled out some of her rations and put them in a small pot over the heat. Looking down at her wrist, she figured Sirella should be showing up any time soon. Spencer prepared knowing that the woman had her ways of creeping up on the girl.

She grabbed the rations and took a bite out of it. Frowning, she put it down and spit out the food. There was nothing as disgusting as this ration she shoved into her mouth. Kicking the ration about 30 feet from her she sat back down and crossed her arms. She was starving and now she had nothing to eat. Kicking dirt onto the fire she rather would use her Tapas to keep warm. She started to clean up after a moment and began to meditate next to her equipment waiting for Sirella.

The woman needed to hurry up before she grew tired of waiting for her.

Sirella approached the camp, her boy in tow. It was the first time Hylo had been off the Botany Bay, and he took this time to examine his new surroundings. The city had been amazing, but this new jungle was what interested him the most. "Keep up," the woman said in a gruff tone as they reached the camp. Sirella walked up toward the fire and gave the wood an appraising look. Creatures needed to stay warm she supposed. Grudglingly she accepted this fact and looked at the Empress's chosen apprentice. "Why have you come here?" She asked. She of course knew why, but this was all part of the training. Jerking hylo's arm she pushed the boy toward Spencer. "What are you willing to do to learn the power I posses?"

Spencer stood up when she heard Sirella’s voice. She broke her meditation and looked towards the woman who had brought Hylo. Frowning, she had hoped it was going to be just her and Sirella. Seeing Hylo would be a problem when she thought deeply about this. Shaking her head, she moved and kicked a bit of dirt upon the burnt out fire as she listened to Sirella. Like the other Masters she questioned Spencer’s reasons for calling her out for this. Finally looking up she looked towards the woman.

“Why? I’ve come here because I know this place would attract you. Its a planet that was revived from the powers of the plants and vegetation. And what am I willing to do...I’m willing to do anything”

A smile spread across her face as she folded her arms in front of her. Looking towards Hylo, she waved a little acknowledging the boy. He seemed to be more excited about where he was instead of Sirella’s harsh words. Turning her attention back towards Sirella she smirked.
“I am surprised you brought Hylo along”

Sirella smirked at the girl, no now she was a woman. Her eyes studied Spencer. "You've learned alot, but I can see you haven't learned hatred." Taking in a deep breath she looked to her son. "Hylo serves a purpose, he is here as a test." The boy looked uneasy as his mother spoke, all happiness from being outside the ship now drained from him. "He knows what I'm about to ask of you. He volunteered for this, as your first step of mastery in the darker arts." The boy stepped forward as if on command and closed his eyes. "He wants you to be strong, and to do that you must attack him. Strike out at him with lightning, or those telekinetic bursts you so like. Attack him, bear him senseless and channel your rage. It is the only way to fully master the magical arts."

So, this was how it worked. Spencer remembered what Ashin had said about Sirella. The woman was a master of Sith Magic for a reason. That reason being she had a bit more hate in her, unlike Ashin and Spencer. There was something evil about the woman, but Spencer had to figure out how to channel that without completely losing herself. The more she thought of it, the more unlikely it was.

Looking at Hylo, she felt the electricity starting to surge up and down her left arm. She wanted to attack him to show Sirella she was ready to learn, but the way he stood there with his eyes shut made Spencer sad. She was upset and she remembered how happy the sheltered boy was when he wandered the planet. That happiness was gone and it was replaced with fear and sadness, looking towards Sirella her hazel eyes narrowed. The woman was horrible putting her son in this position. The more she felt anger towards the plant woman, the stronger and thicker the sparks became.

It was quick and Spencer launched the attack. The electricity passed Hylo and sparked towards his mother, the woman being her true target.

“I’m not dragging him into this!”

Sirella lifted her hand and diverted the lightning, jumping backward. The sparks from Spencer's hand jumping into the air before dissipating into nothingness. It was an impressive display of anger but only instigated because of something much more innocent. "You haven't turned fully to the Dark Side. There is some kindness left in your heart." It wasn't a compliment nor was it an insult but rather a statement of fact. The lightning stopped now, no one could continue it indefinitely. "Sith Magic is the purest expression of the Dark Side. I may teach you defense, and I may teach you spells that suit your abilities, but I can't teach you the greater mysteries."

Relieved, Hylo darted across and wrapped his arms around the girl. "You're so great," he said.

"Yes," Sirella sighed, a sigh of relief perhaps. "You are still very much the girl I remember in so many ways. Part of me is relieved, and a part of me wishes..." the voice trailed off. None of this mattered. "Are you willing to learn from me?"

Spencer folded her arms across her chest as she listened to the plant woman talk. She didn’t understand some of the statements she said. Spencer remembered how Sirella spoke, the woman was quite literate and her words were strong, somewhat hard to follow. It was interesting to know that a plant was so intelligent when she spoke. Looking towards Hylo, Spencer smiled slightly and then returned her attention to Sirella.

“I won’t fall to the dark side completely”

Hugging Hylo for a moment she peeled her way away from him and paid full attention to Sirella.

“I’m willing to learn everything you can teach me Sirella, like I said I’d do anything”
