- Equipment:
- Combat Function: The Shadow Born are the rank and file warriors for the Children of Abeloth, and serve as their defenders as persecutors of their will. They fight in large unit formations, engaging foes at long range before closing to attack in melee assaults. In large scale battles, the Shadow Born serve as front line infantry soldiers, capable of entering protracted fire fights with enemy forces in both defensive positions and in offensive assaults. They are rarely deployed in defensive battles, and the Shadow Born excel in aggressive operations. Their preferred tactic involves a rushed infantry charge, supported by walls of suppressing fire, before engaging their foes in melee combat.
- Obedient: The Shadow Born are obedient warriors, following orders given to them without question. The prospect of death does not phase the Shadow Born, and they will take actions that will end in their death without a seconds hesitation.
- Dulled: Through their indoctrination process, the Shadow Born have been dulled to the physical world. Physical pain, fear, and a sense of self preservation do not hinder the Shadow Born, and warriors are capable of fighting on despite debilitating injuries and agonies that would cripple other soldiers.
- Imagination: The Shadow Born lack personal initiative and imagination. Their minds have long since been destroyed through the process that created them, and they must rely on a powerful commanding presence to direct them in combat.
- Light Side: Corrupted fully by the Dark Side of the Force, the Shadow Born have a natural weakness when it comes to the Light Side of the Force. Experienced practitioners of the Light Side are capable of disrupting and confusing the minds of Shadow Born for several seconds, offering a key tactical weakness.
The Shadow Born traces their origins back to the founding of the Children of Abeloth, several hundred years ago. The precise origins of their parents organization are lost to time, but for as long as the cult has existed, the Shadow Born have stood ready to defend it. For most of their history, the Shadow Born and the Children of Abeloth were an unknown organization, lost on an obscured planet and driven into isolation by their own tenants. It was not until the coming of Darth Thonrin that the Children of Abeloth, and the Shadow Born through them, emerged onto the galactic stage. Dedicated to the Will of the Mother, the creed upon which the Children of Abeloth exist, and following the orders of Darth Thonrin, the Shadow Born have begun to make their way towards the end goal of their existence. The Great End.
