- Provides a boost to Force Stealth abilities, making it easier for Dark Side users to hide their true natures from other Force Users

- The energy dispersion qualities of Cortosis provide excellent protection from energy weapons and lightsabers, lightsabers that come into contact with this will short out for several seconds

- The Sith Alchemy makes this shroud quite heavy, nearly twenty pounds. For those unaccustomed to it, this can make the shroud feel constraining and even claustrophobic
- Every time the wearer uses an overtly Light Side aligned force technique, the Alchemical protection and boost to Force Stealth is lessened to the point where it will no longer continue to function. In addition, every time the shroud is weakened in this manner, it will get ten pounds heavier - making it that much harder for the wearer to make use of it
The Shrouds of Shadows were originally created by Emperor Sheev Palpatine following his creation of the Galactic Empire. They were an asymmetrical floor length jacket with a wide hood and made out of Cortosis-weave fabric, giving them execellent protection against energy weapons and lightsabers. Intended to be used by his Inquisitors and Force-Sensitive Emperor's Hands, they were enhanced by Sith Alchemy to grant a boost to the Force Stealth ability. This allowed his Inquisitors and operatives to hide their Force-Sensitivity from other Force Users, or allowed them to mask their true alliegance to the Dark Side. As well, the Alchemy protected the wearer against Force based attacks such as Force Lightning and Pyrokinesis. As a result of the Sith Alchemy, this Shroud felt much heavier than one would expect, weighing in at nearly twenty pounds. Like all things created by Palpatine, this shroud was not without its own inherent dangers. Operatives and Inquisitors who turned to the Light Side would quickly find that each time they used a light side aligned ability, the protection offered by the shroud would decrease and its weight would increase. In the end, minions of the Emperor who turned would be quickly found out by other Inquisitors and be too encumbered to provide a full defense of themselves.
