The Silent War
Now playing:

Welcome to the OOC thread for the Silent War campaign. If you want to keep up with the story, request a spot in the roster, or just play peanut gallery you've come to the right place. I've included below the LFG that I kicked off the campaign with, and will include any future LFGs should the pool of players between Returning Cast and WaitList be small enough to allow more in.

For those of you not interested in joining the thread directly, but still interested to see where it all goes, I'll include links to each thread along with a summary of the events therein in one of the posts below. As always, thanks for stopping by and checking out this story. It's been four years in the making and I'm really hoping I do it justice...

LFGs:

Hey folks, After a few weeks of character establishment, I'm ready to get started on the main campaign arc for Dorin Arkx. As always, any story is made far better by the addition of a merry band of heroes, so I'd like to invite folks to participate, even if you want to be a thorn-in-our-side antagonist. This campaign has been several years in the making, and frankly had some rather humble beginnings.
During my final days of SWTOR, I ran a mini-campaign for my guild as a final farewell to my character. He wasn't particularly well loved, but the guild was looking for people to run events, so I volunteered his finale as their first major event. The results were...less than satisfying, but the dice fell, the players have spoken. I left SWTOR shortly thereafter, and kinda put the story from my mind for a while. When I joined Chaos, I hadn't intended to run this campaign, but...one idea turns into another. You know how it goes. I found myself contemplating that we're sitting here nearly five thousand years after that unsatisfying ending. So what if there was a way that the ending hadn't happened yet?
I don't want to go into detail on what exactly this entails, but suffice it to say, if you play a Force User, this will be a great campaign to develop your character with. NFUs, this'll still be good for yall too, plenty of action, plenty of intrigue, and...well... hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side.
This campaign will start on Tatooine (Birthplace of all good Star Wars stories), with Dorin sending out a general call to all interested parties: He's found something on Tatooine. A stronghold, dating back to the Zakuul War. He says it has something to do with the Sith Spectre that was present at the Battle of Commenor. For those less benevolent, and out for their own gain, he's found something more. A means to become immortal. Anything more than that...well...you'll have to come along and see for yourself...

The exact message Dorin sent reads as follows:

To whom it may concern,

I've found something. Something that can explain what that Spectre on Commenor was. Is. Why it's here. Why it's hunting Sith, Jedi, and neutrals alike. But more importantly, I've found something that could be dangerous if left in the wrong hands. The text that lead me here said this was the final resting place of the one ship that could find an artifact. Something called the Well of Souls. Don't know what it is. Don't know how it works. But I do know what it does. "Those who come and drink of the Well shall be granted immortality." If you wish to help investigate, meet me at the included coordinates, at the time specified. I'll be waiting.

Something lurks at the edge of known space. Something hungry. It desires to be fed, more than anything. At first, it was content to feed on the fringe regions, where the occasional colony wouldn't be missed. Explorers go missing all the time. But it senses something. A threat. The beast has awoken. It struck with a ferocity and precision against the one thing that could destroy it. But one was missing. And so The Servant was sent. His failure sparked the rekindling of the war. Open conflict is inevitable. Will you help, or will you run?
