Faction The Sith Order | Heirs of the Sith: Krayiss Two

Krayiss Two.

There were few ancient Sith worlds left that remained free from the control of the Sith's enemies. One of the last few untainted and yet unclaimed of the sacred worlds, Krayiss Two had not been untouched by the wars and conflicts of the Sith Empire both before and after its collapse. Alisteri idly ran his gaze over the scarred, cratered planet surface before him. Wrecks and remains of ships and soldiers alike still remained amidst the wind swept canyons, all of them grim and hollow with decay.

Yet still the wind was cold and tense, and the presence of the Dark Side still seeped into each grain of dust and grime. The newer bodies only added to the planet's long history of blood and strife it would seem. A blood-soaked history that was far from done.

"Teams One through Three will remain topside to load the shuttles and keep watch for any signs of activity planet side, giving the rest of the teams warning if anything appears. Our fleet in orbit should be able to intercept anything coming at us from above." The masked Acolyte turned back to the salvage leader as they spoke, the Overseer scrolling through something on a datapad as the orders continued on. "Teams Four and Five will be taking the equipment and heading down into the Library Temple along with the Sith." The salvage operation was small, organized, and meant to be over quickly. A handful of decently sized cargo shuttles with a small military escort and several teams to claim the temple's secrets.

It was a concise and clear operation, one that he couldn't resist taking part in. Even if the order had come down from on high. Evidently the Worm Emperor saw the potential still left in the Sith Empire's remains after all.

Krayiss Two had been where he had constructed his lightsaber at the beginning of his journey into the Sith, the temple-library was something almost nostalgic in that regard. It was far from a unique connection to the planet but it was one that Alisteri could not ignore. Leaving all that knowledge to be despoiled would simply not do at all. So here they were, claiming the relics and secrets of the past for the new order that had risen from the ashes. Almost poetic, in a sense. "The guardians of the temple typically only allow Sith inside, so they will be going in first to ensure safe entrance for the salvage teams."

The entrance to the temple-library, marked only by a single monolithic obelisk and the distinct black scars of blaster bolt fire sat ahead of the group, most of which was still clustered near the shuttles and awaiting orders. The Overseer finally looked up from their datapad at the assembled crowd of salvagers, specifically at the Sith interspersed amongst said crowd. "Any questions?"

Within the valley that hid the Sith Obelisk of Krayiss Two, a wind stirred up. Warm and dry, it blew amongst the assembled followers of Bogan as the Overseer prattled on. Venn fidgeted with the sword at his waist impatiently. He was far from the biggest player there that day, so a rash move would have been unwise. Even still, the apprentice found it a tempting idea to burn the self-important overseer alive and get on with the expedition. His latest foray into Sith ruins, while rife with danger, had been rewarding. Today promised to be even more so.

The Overseer was asking if anyone had any questions, which Venn took as a sign he could stop listening. He turned, facing the small group behind him. Roughly half of them wore leather jackets and steel helmets- the others were draped in cloaks of white and gray. To his helmeted followers, he simply intoned "Riders to your bikes. You have the perimeter, the scan radius is two kliks. I want no surprises. Go."

The Maal Riders took off running as Venn addressed their cloaked fellows. "Hunters, remain here with Team 2; Eslo, take 2 others and join up with Team One. Those with Dalgo, standby to help haul out any artifacts too heavy for a loader droid. Keep your swords in your scabbards, and keep your Maalraas under control- we're here among friends, and anyone who costs me a friend will pay dearly. Behave, understood?"

Bowing mutely, the Qatilovçu dispersed, their Maalraas bounding about to inspect the landing site. The Riders' speedbikes began to roar to life, as one by one the cultists raced from the site of the Sith Obelisk to patrol the surrounding waste. Dalgo reared in agitation, and Venn empathized with the beasts. The desert wind was picking up, as the excitement in his blood burned higher and higher. Strength lay here, under the ground. Power had been left untended in this place.

Today, Venn would claim strength and power for his own.

The Overseer waited another few moments before turning back to their datapad. "Excellent. Idle chatter is for the weak." Holding back a scoff was difficult, but Alisteri still rolled his eyes freely in response. He shifted on his feet and idly fiddled with the lightsaber attached to his hip. With any luck it wouldn't be needed today, but one never knew. Especially this close to enemy space.

"Alright everyone knows their duties and positions. Sith! Proceed into the temple and get us entrance. Remember, the guardians are notoriously fickle and temperamental so tread carefully." The Overseer paused and nodded his head to the obelisk behind him. "Do try not to be splattered across the walls of the temple if you would, we've only been granted one chance at this mission." The Acolyte clenched his hand into a fist and stormed past the Overseer, tempted to carve the fool in half as he walked by.

Perhaps another time, when there were less witnesses.

Alisteri had no idea if any of the others had visited Krayiss Two before, let alone entered the temple-library as well. So naturally he decided to lead the charge for the time being, at least until the guardians could be talked down. Hopefully. "Ah good, a volunteer! Now remember Acolyte, you open the door by-" The masked man raised his hand and the Overseer reluctantly silenced themself, turning back to their datapad with a frustrated tap of buttons. "Taka zeech ma toka duuwaj." The wind stilled and cooled as the words were uttered, like the planet itself had paused to watch the obelisk as it opened. The doorway now revealed, only a dark entrance awaited them.

The Overseer looked up again, as if expecting something, but Alisteri knew the next part as well. He outstretched his hand and focused his mind on the entrance. The ward took a bit of probing, but it did give way after a moment, a surge of red lightning emanating from the doorway for a moment as he let out a sigh of relief. "It's open. Let's hope the guardians are welcoming."

Another masked figure watched from the back. Calmly observing the congregation. The Overseer. She kept herself as distanced as she could from the proceedings. The door opened. Darth Strosius Darth Strosius knew how to enter through. It wasn't too surprising, in her opinion. He'd done a lot of research in his time away, hadn't he? Not a word was spared as her masked visage stepped past, into the temple without a sound.

Movement caught her attention. From the darkness something leaped, angry and savage. Dark claws stretched out, aiming to maim. In the blink of an eye though it was slammed to the ground, a fist from the masked figure flattening it's skull. She stood straight up shortly after, flicking remnants of bone and grey matter from her glove before continuing further. The guardians, or whatever these were, weren't so welcoming it seemed.
