SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Omnitech -
    • Due to its alchemized Laminanium, the Skeleton Key is capable of transforming in a variety of forms; from a relatively simple sword, to the various cyber spikes required for communication with most known computer systems. While for the most part, this allows for a 'swiss army knife' in most situations, none of the altered forms have any benefits besides its natural affinity to hack into most cybernetic systems; either physically, or remotely.
  • The Black Hand -
    • While the utility of the device allows it to otherwise hack most computer systems with ingrained Mechu Deru; the physical nature of the device is incredibly strong; made of alchemized phrik, micro-servo motors that create a crushgaunt, and an otherwise exceptional ability to magnify Dark Side powers. The most notably of these is its ability to create a black lightning capable of turning the unprotected into ash; though this is only in certain circumstances.
WEAKNESSES
  • The Hunger -
    • Notorious for its 'Dark Side Corruption', the Skeleton Key gains its name for two reasons - the first being its natural ability to turn any lock into less than a paperweight in worth, but the second is due its startling atrophy to the muscular structure. Muscles begin to wear away where it touches, and seeming necrosis spreads from the prosthetic, turning nearly black with prolonged usage.
  • The Voice -
    • To be unified with its user, a sacrifice must be made. For most, it can be as simple as sacrificing their arm; which is the most rationale sacrifice to be made since it needs to be gone to make room for the arm regardless. Yet, for its current occupant, she was forced to sacrifice her tongue on request; as the pain helps the body to create a stronger connection the Dark Side, and create a synergistic relationship between the user, and the parasite of an arm.
  • The Light of Lightning -
    • In addition to the various advantages of the device, it should be noted that like any alchemized matieral it is fully subject to the use of Force Light - meaning that any use of the power will see the device destroyed. Then, it is little more than a blunt intsrument, for what parts of it don't shed into dust; while the cyberspike will lose its entire use. Additionally, any Ioniziation energy can effect the device - though to a lesser degree, and force nuetralizing measures will also stop the force imbued pieces of the device; meaning it can't hack in the presence of voidstone (lesser degree), or ysalamiri fields.
DESCRIPTION

The Skeleton Key.
Devised as a means to expand on Maliphant's vast repetoire of artistic sith creations, and to additionally enter itself into any system it can. From the ground up, it was inspired from the likes of Caulder Dune Caulder Dune - who introduced Maliphant to the concept of Mechu Deru on a more fundamental level, and inadvertently encouraged him to magnify an arm with that exact skill set within it. From beginning to end, the Skeleton Key is a tool to be lusted and utilized by the Sith Slicer; and feared by anyone else.
Beginning with its super structure, the device holds a variety of utilities found in other cybernetic arms designed by Maliphant - from the Vambraces based on Mandalorian designs, to the less common repulsor hand capable of shredding flesh or bone that the hand get its hold on. Additionally, the repulse hand is made stronger by the micronized servo motors made from the phrik; allowing its grip to not only shred whatever is within its grasp, but additionally be able to crush. On top of this, its Phrik superstructure allows for it to resist most lightsaber and blaster strikes - though it should be noted that it isn't especially useful in either of these situations, as the only has the fundamental movement range of a regular arm.
Inside its palm is an excessive amount of Laminanium that can be rearranged through the Force in a variety of ways. From swords, to daggers - though these are relatively pointless in consideration - to the ever more useful alchemized cyberspike that only need be inserted into a droid, or computer to alter its nature. To a lesser degree, it can hack remotely; but not nearly as effectively as direct injection. Once a connection is established, the arm can see itself through most known forms of security - with those most advanced systems requiring a more fundamental understanding of Mechu Deru for the users own sake.
Despite this, the device does require a variety of sacrifices. The first is some means of sacrifice for the bonding ritual to succeed - and for most it can be as simple as the sacrifice of their arm to utilize the prosthetic. However, for those already missing an arm - a seperate sacrifice must be made, one up to them to decide. For its first user, it was their tongue - sacrificed for the means of regaining their arm; or rather, one that seemed to work better than their original. Past that, the device does have a variety of weaknesses that must be taken into account for it to be safe.
Things from Ysalamiri Fields, to Void stone can stop the laminanium from form or reforming, effectively nullifying the devices ability to hack, or utilize the force. Ion energy can burn out the actual computerized, technological parts of the device - and in conjunction with a Ysalamiri field can see it completely disabled; while worst case any amount of Force light will see the device burnt out almost entirely. Very likely, turned to complete ash if the user manages to survive.
Overall, this makes the Skeleton Key an astonishing gift, and a terrifying utility; but just another statement to be made. Maliphant seeks to prove his worth as the ultimate alchemist in the galaxy; and for those that witness The Skeleton Key, they will understand to what degree he stands.
