The Skye's The Limit [Dragon School]

@Skye Felinder

Skye had made some progress, but while there was nothing wrong with a carefree attitude, some of his mannerisms were going to hurt potential professionalism. And professionalism was important for a Jedi. They needed to be calm and collected, and ready to handle a situation as such at any moment, no matter how they were feeling. Patience, he needed patience. But he would learn, in time.

A proper one on one session had been scheduled in order to better refine his abilities in combat, with the Force and without. The same room in the Temple on Kashyyyk from before had been rented, as Josh waited for his pupil to arrive.

Skye walked in and saw his master waiting for him. The look on his face showed a hint of surprise as he thought he was early enough to show up first. Oh well, at least this means that they will have extra time today. After a deep breath he spoke in a subserviant tone, " Thank you master. I greatly appreciate the one on one lesson. I am greatly sorry that you have to resort to solo training. I promise to try and improve so that this will not be necessary in the future".

Skye gave a curt bow then took his place opposite of his master and took a stance waiting for instruction. His mind was whirling with emotion, almost enough to send his head spinning. It took almost everything he had to bury them and focus.

He didn't speak at first, just held out a hand and brought one of the training sabers from one of the racks to his hand, before tossing it to Skye for him to catch. "We will be sparring today" Josh spoke calmly as he would pull out his own lightsaber, setting it to low power before activating the blue blade, spinning it about between his fingers to warm up his hands to the feel of the lightsaber in his grip. It was a habit of his, something to get his hands active and feeling comfortable with the handle of the blade before fighting.

"The training saber is low power, so come at me at anytime with intent to fight. I will instruct you on tactics as we go."

As soon as Skye caught the saber, he lunged towards his master while activating the blade. He started with a downward slash, then used that body momentum to drop down for a foot swipe with his left leg. Using the weight of his swinging leg he spun around and stood up into an upward slash before returning to his stance.

He knew he had no chance of winning, but he wanted to make an impressive first impression. He stared to draw maneuvres in his mind from his previous martial arts training to make an attack plan. He was going to try and make his go on the defensive, even if only for one parry.

Josh waited patiently as Skye would make the first move, letting out a deep exhale as he would watch his movements carefully with a serene grace. When he made the first move, that was when he would finally move himself as he would bring his blade downward to block it. With that, Josh would quickly go on the offensive, with blinding speed slashing in a diagonal measure toward the torso, then the legs, to the side and then a horizontal across the torso in quick measure.

"Let's review! Form 1! Shii-Cho! The tactics form. Not one you are going to use in battle all the time, but a good start, and one I expect you to take some from for your style nonethless. This is the form you want to adapt into your style even if not as your main form, to keep things fresh - but what you want to do the most while in this form is focus on tactics! Catch your opponent off-guard, and try to disarm them! This form is primarily about tactics and disarming! Tactics and disarming! Continue!"
