- Used to store alchemical and sorcery formulas.
- Lightweight and can be carried easily in a satchel.
- By utilizing the kyber crystal used in the ink the author can write out the runes needed to use their spells.
- With their connection to the kyber crystal they can quickly cast the spells within those runes by channeling the Force through them.
- The writing and ink is unique to the author, much like a Jedi's lightsaber. While someone else can read the book, they cannot use the runes unless they write them in their own ink.
- It's a book. While some authors might enhance the binding to keep it from easily being destroyed, the common variety is still leather and paper. Easily destroyed and/or burned.
Spellbooks have been around as long as spells have. The ancient Sith wrote their rituals and spell incantations in their tomes for casual reminders and information hoarding. They were on the precipice of greatness, if they had taken it one step further. For the new age of Sith Eternalism those with affinity to Sorcery need their own weapon.
As the Jedi and other Sith use the Kyber crystal to better attune to their Lightsaber, the Sorcerers grind their crystals into a powder to be inked within their tomes. The unique effect of bleeding these crystals to corrupt them makes them ideal to channel the dark magic. By writing out the formulas and runes for their spells a Sorcerer can much more quickly cast their spells. A lengthy ritual cut down to producing the final, necessary hand movements, words, and/or components.
With this Kyber Ink however no two sorcerers can use the same spell book. Much like a Jedi's lightsaber would fight off the will of a Sith, these books refuse to respond to any but the one who attuned to the crystal before inking it.
