The Sovereign Guardians
The Sovereign Guardians, recently formed under currently Varik Ice, are an order of Force users dedicated to the service of the Sovereignty, whether through military, diplomatic or other means. Considered a form of civil service under the Sovereignty, Sovereign Guardians can double as Senators, military personnel or anything else they wish to be within the state.
Though the training for a Guardian requires them to at least be capable in lightsaber combat, they are not required to use them. Quite a common choice for many members is the use of the power Force Weapon, temporarily imbueing regular weapons with the force to make them more effective and able to defend against regular lightsaber-wielding opponents. This is a commonly used technique so that Guardians can still retain their preferred weapon choices and styles, without suffering as a result of it.
The Sovereign Guardians are almost entirely democratic in how their leadership is decided - the Guardians are led by a council called the Guardian Summit, who decide on how the order should be run, rules for the order regarding any particular techniques or teachings, etc. All seats are voted for by other members of the order.
The Guardians also offer training to force-sensitives from both within or outside of the Sovereignty who do not necessarily wish to become a part of them - one of the main beliefs of the order is that all should be helped to understand, refine and improve themselves and their connection to the force - but that the force should always come second to The Sovereignty.
