Strengths:
- Tumbling like a Gymnast - The primary and most famous aspect of the Nssis Class Clawcraft was already its ability to twist and turn, but with the addition of S-foil like movement of its claws into various positions along with the correction jets, the thing can move about like no tomorrow when it comes to twisting and turning. This creates a highly agile fighter on par with some of the best and even allows for greater atmospheric flight that other fighters would remain clunky and hindered by.
- Firepower - With the inclusion of two new cannons, and the upgrading of the top cannons, the Clawcraft has been granted stronger weaponry for use against those that fall within its cross hairs, creating a rather surprising change in power for those who know the craft well or fall into the habit of underestimating the small craft.
- Speed - Compared to nearly all fighters, the Spectre is slow. Its speed is closer resembling that of a strike bomber rather than an actual fighter or interceptor. This is caused by the double layered armor and the inclusion of more power to the weaponry, thus making it a taxing problem for the engines to provide the same amount of output that one would normally suspect of a fighter. This was also further hindered by the original Clawcrafts already slower performance compared to other fighters.
- One of a Kind - This is a personally altered fighter, meaning that it is the only one in existence and as such would make for replacing it a very difficult process should the fighter be destroyed. It also means that the alterations already were expensive as it would be even more so to simply repair any damage to the thing.
- Requires Familiarity - Because of the unique way in which the S-foils act, as well as the odd speed and manuverability combination compared to most fighters and interceptors, the Spectre is not a fighter that any pilot can get into and use. The controls are highly sensitive and would be hard to control if someone was not familiar with out easily the fighter turned and twisted. It also requires constant focus on the actual flight of the machine, in order to make sure that the S-foils move into the correct position.
The result of a personal project for Serah during the last four years, the Spectre is an age old Nssis Clawcraft with significant modifications to the very way that it operates and allowed for her to use her machnically inclined brain to focus on something before and during her time in the First Order.
The Clawcraft is built in mind for one pilot and with another room for one, maybe two passengers if necessary though is highly unlikely as the only reason the space was made was in order to give Serah a place where she could rest within the craft if she needed. Its internal compenants remain largely familiar to any pilot who had used a Clawcraft before but with added controllers for the extended S-foil movement, landing platforms that now come out of the main body of the fighter, and a command console that can determine which laser cannons are to be used at any time.
Following this the addition of Solar collection panels were added due to Serah's original need for them considering that she used the fighter to move about looking for her brother before joining up with the First order, making her stops at refueling stations rare and requiring a power collection system in result. This was applied over the double layered durasteel armor, thus giving an extra (Though barely noticeable) layer of protection for the craft while making it more easily able to undergo long term missions.
The addition of the S-foil like movement of the wings created a much more manuverable craft, but the extra power and tech caused for her to take a further hit on her power reserves, thus making the fighter slower. This was made even more prevalent when she had added on the newer, stronger laser cannons to the upper claws and under the main chasis, thus making for an even more taxing energy supply and further slowing the fighter. This created a large problem for her when it came to combat with pirates as nearly all their small craft and laser cannons could follow her.
Luckily though, the S-foils and correction jets made her buzz around like a bee when it came to manuverability. At first this made her sick and she was forced to fly with them together for a while until she got used to how easily the craft could turn and tumble. After about two years though the feeling that it took in her hands allowed for her to effectively control, though not master, the ease in which the craft turns.
