ADVANCED SYSTEMS
Hangar Capacity: The Stalwart-Class carries an expansive accoutrements of fighters with it. Ten squadrons. A deceptively high amount for a vessel of its size.
STRENGTHS
- Big Carrier: The Stalwart-Class fits a niche as one of the most expansive support carriers of its size and its appearance on the battlefield can change the tide of things.
- Frontline Combatant: The Stalwart-Class cannot at all standup to continuous enemy fire. It's defensive abilities are painfully mediocre.
- Attacker: Not really in the Stalwarts interests to attack. It's weapons are primarily defensive batteries, designed to wave off fighter attacks, rather than take the fight to the enemy.
The Stalwart-Class Carrier is a vessel designed to show up to battle, and then relax. The vessel's entire purpose is to deliver fighter and bomber craft to a battle. The Stalwart supports almost an entire wing of starfighters within its hangar. However this gargantuan compliment of fighters does come at something of a cost.
That cost being combat ability. A vessel of the Stalwarts size is typically able to fight off much larger vessels than itself but due to the hangar capacity, reactor space typically given to larger and more powerful weapons systems was forfeited in favour of smaller point-defence guns designed to assail enemy fighter or bomber craft that could jeopardise the vessel. Otherwise, the Stalwart is best kept to the rear of any action. Hanging to the back.
