OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Founded by Diarchy Optio Kallous following his development of the Hollenbrenner type blaster, the Storm Detachment is a group of selectively trained veterans meant to use the Hollenbrenner in combat to its fullest potential. Primarily as anti-lightsaber, and secondarily as anti-armor the Storm Detachment is a young but well trained group of soldiers. So far they haven’t seen any true conflict, and have yet to have their mettle truly tested.

- Unit Name: Storm Detachment
- Affiliation: The Diarchy
- Classification: Spec Ops
- Description: A small group of specialized infantry that usually operate in Squads or Platoons, the Storm Detachment is a unit in the Diarchy’s military that was established by Kallous in order to counter lightsaber wielding opponents and carry out special missions on the Diarchy’s behalf. Heavily armored and well armed these soldiers engage particularly dangerous targets, preferably from range, and specialize in taking out force users and light vehicles. With expert marksmanship as a baseline requirement they can be relied on to dispatch opponents from a great distance when compared to other infantry.
- Unit Size:Small This unit in its entirety is a battalion, a small detachment of specialized infantry for specialized tasks.
- Unit Availability:Uncommon (some, replaceable, enough to support)
- Unit Experience:Trained,
- Equipment: Hollenbrenner Blasters , Vibroblade bayonets, standard blaster sidearm, Groß-Schulter Armor
- Combat Function: The Storm Detachment is meant as a deep strike or reinforcement group. Meant to combat specific types of opponents. Generally preferring to engage at longer ranges, though are more than capable at closer ones, they’re meant to engage lightsaber wielding enemies with weapons that pack enough punch to either knock the lightsaber out of the enemy’s hand or cause it to short out. Alternatively they can be used as an anti armor group, the punch behind their shots being enough to burn through armor.
- Force Abilities (Force User Units Only): None
1High Powered Weapons. Their use of high powered weapons makes them a serious threat to all but heavier vehicles.
2 Range. Their weapons coupled with rigorous marksmanship training lets them land more shots from further away, making them hard to close in on.
3 Armor. These soldiers rely much on their armor to keep them safe on the field, therefore that armor is always reliable and strong. One needs to close the distance and most often get behind them in order to have an easy time killing one of them.
1 Rate of Fire. Their weapons are a double edged sword. They cannot shoot too frequently, lest their guns overheat. They will not perform too well against massive numbers.
2 Ammunition. With the need to reload being an uncommon thing among most military units, their slower firing rate and the genuine possibility of running out of ammunition makes them unsuitable for sustained firefights.
3 Numbers. The Storm Detachment is seldom ever deployed in large groups. Platoons being the largest groups that are ordinarily deployed in one place at one time. Every dead trooper hurts the group a lot, as five men is a make or break amount most of the time.
