The Sword of Paros (Camellia Swift)

Ayumi Pallopides

Heir to the Emperor, Former Senator of Denon

This was not what she had expected, with the initial trials going well, the success actually of the Honorable class... Ayumi felt it was time to celebrate. to enjoy their success and above all else well.... she needed to go and get this girl to have some fun. Camellia the Rendili CEO was stuffed up in her office working on ships and ways to fight the sith for so long she might be losing track of what really matters. Keeping yourself safe and that was what needed to be done... well that and as Ayumi piloted the ship in she had the information for a piece of tech they might be able to use on the ship and incorporate for a slow moving beast to defend itself. She had her datapad on her wrist, a bottle of wine in one hand and two glasses in the other as she spoke coming down the. "Camellia Swift I hope you are ready to celebrate. I owe you a drink."

Camellia would feel safe once the suped up Inexpugnable was completed and the Republic finally got off their behinds on making the Noblesse class a reality. At this point she had half a mind to hand that project over to the Silver Jedi Order as well just to make sure it was properly finished. The One Sith were a menace that appeared to be quite unstoppable. The Republic faltered again and again and the Sith just kept unleashing more monsters every time. That or they cooked up some new technology to terrify the galaxy with. The Darkblade Destroyers were a nightmare in and of themselves. Camellia hardly wanted to see something worse. She wished the Republic would get themselves a sufficient vehicle and droid company behind them too. All Camellia could do was hope for the best on her end with starships.

The arrival of Ayumi though, was greeted with much welcome and relief. There was too much paperwork, too many files, and too many components to work on at once. At this point Rendili Stardrive's CEO was feeling rather tired. "You do owe me a drink, but we're nowhere near celebrating yet and you know it. We aren't quite finished with all the components yet after all."

Ayumi looked over her face taking it all in, it looked like things were starting to wear on her and Ayumi spoke offering an arm. "No we aren't finished but we are going along the way, your face has been getting to worn and you look tired. I'll just have to find something lovely to get your spirits up again." She had a small grin at that but wasn't pushing anything she was looking more at the XEO's emotional state as she spoke more. "Besides we can drink when it is all done, we can celebrate and of course after the ship... I'll have to find little reasons to get you out there for service calls. Or to come here and touch base on things."

Blinking tiredly before accepting the arm offered to her, Camellia sighed as she stood up and realized she had begun to even lose track of what section of the project she was working on anymore. Noticing that she listened well to what Ayumi was saying to her as she took it in and considered what the other woman was saying. Perhaps she was overworking herself, but this was a big project and Rendili Stardrive's big break perhaps to break out and show the galaxy what it was capable of doing. Still, she appreciated Ayumi looking after her and working so hard herself. It put a soft smile on Camellia's face as she looked back to the wine. "Yeah I guess you're right. What parts are left to do now though. . . . I think I've forgotten I've been working so much they're blurring together."

t held the woman and relaxed for a moment patting her back in lazy circles before she spoke. "Oh there is plenty to do but that can wait for a bit, right now relax. I am here and I brought your favorite pillows. Just enjoy yourself and when you wake up we'll discuss everything my dear. No point burnign you out on this project when you have so many of your won to do." Ayumi kept patting her and nuzzled a little her head to relax and enjoy it while she moved to the seat opposite the CEO's one. Pulling her to be on her lap and curl a little comfortably.

Camellia didn't like to be goaded or babied. However, she couldn't help but blush as the other woman treated her gently and pulled her onto her lap. Honestly Camellia wanted to look indignant, but at the same time she felt rather flush as a result of Ayumi's brazen behavior. Plus she was tired, but at the same time she absolutely was someone who didn't want to rest while work still needed to be done. It was just bad practice. Still, now planted on Ayumi's lap, Rendili Stardrive's CEO couldn't do much but sigh and rest against the other woman. "It all needs to get done still though. I'd rather get it done before taking a break so I'm not just worrying about it later. . . . . I remembered what it was though. Furthering the protection against EMP and electronic warfare devices as well as updating the sensor feeds and targeting systems to enhance the BAC's effectiveness. You still have me wondering about a few of the other choices you all want on there."

Ayumi felt it in the force and hid her face a little while she listened and gave a nod of her head. "I understand that but I also know the dangers of overworking, sometimes you have to rest so you don't burn yourself out." She didn't move but just rested herself against her. "We'll handle it and I trust your judgement, just tell me what you need and we'll work it out, make the changes you so want to have while the time moves closer to meeting with the Silver jedi council. Best reports are soon." She was certain once Iella's duties slowed down and the others were ready it could be done but looking it over there might be other ways. You never know what might come from it.

Camellia only felt like sighing, overworking herself or not this was a grand project and she was excited to be a part of it. She was getting rest, just not as frequently. She just had too many duties she supposed. Running the company as a whole meant working on other projects and approving decisions beyond the SIlver Jedi's ship, plus she also had her work cut out for her with her role in the Republic Military as well. Still, she was quite happy she had so many important things she had to do, it made her feel alive to be so needed and to be appreciated for her work. So she smiled, glad that Ayumi was so concerned for her. "Well. . . .I think we need an expanded budget to get the work down for creating so many advanced systems as compared to the standard packages. Not only that but for the addition of several installations of faraday cages and anti-scrambling software to prevent someone from bringing down the ship because they fried its electronics or prevented it from targeting an enemy or communicating with allied ships and their sensor suites."

Ayumi looked at her with a nod of her head for that as she chewed her lower lip. Funding projects was a big thing and she was thinking about it now while tapping her chin and checking what they had. The Asobi system had aurodium which was more valuable at times then credits in the outer rim which for them was much more useful that far out, vine silk and coffee which were rare and expensive to the point one silk dress was thirty percent of a planets economy for a place like Coruscant.... There were other things. "We have enough to help you and there is other materials, madlion, meleedium and force crystals. Those are rare and high value to some people. Send some numbers and we'll see about getting you what you need."

[member="Ayumi Pallopides"]

In all honesty Camellia felt bad about it all coming down to money, but that was what it was. Credits made things run, it covered the time to pay for the engineers, and the materials to construct the giant vessel, and the additional cost of more difficult to produce components. All in all even though she wanted to not ruin her company over it, Camellia truly intended in the end for Rendili Stardrive to provide several discounts. After all, the whole project was a huge opportunity that would bring more business to Rendili later, plus there were many components that the Silver Jedi had collected themselves and were not paying for the creation or acquisition of. She just needed incentives now to keep investors and lobbying supporters from trying to have her held in disgrace for not ensuring profits. "I'll talk with my board, it shouldn't be too expensive as compared to a specialty product though. The only real problem is how much of our work is tied up in this massive ship. Its nearly as troublesome as the Noblesse line we're developing for the Republic. We're close to finishing both products, but we're in the crawl stage where we're putting more work into these than handling private or our normal mass contracts. . . . I'm just worrying you now though. Would you like to see what our work looks like so far?"

Ayumi looked at Cam and smiled as she spoke. "Don't worry, there are many things that can worry me but you don't if only because I rather enjoy it when you talk business and if your board finds they need more assurances. Say the word and I'll arraign for them to receive some of those very special and rare fish that Shri-tal has, something private owners paid for should ease their minds." She shrugged, the tova were rare and expensive for shops to sell because poison could kill you and eating it ill prepared was dangerous. She was more then happy though to see what there was so far and spoke. "But please Camellia show me everythig you got."

[member="Ayumi Pallopides"]

Well the fish from Shri-Tal was actually rather delicious, Camellia certainly enjoyed the delicacy and perhaps so would many others. She wasn't so sure it would assuage the concerns of a financial department hellbent on seeing results though. Still it was a nice thought and the Rendili woman appreciated Ayumi's attempts to put her mind at ease. Once the other woman finished talking though the Rendili Stardrive CEO just nodded her head and motioned for her to follow her. There wasn't much done already, but what was being completed Camellia felt excited to show off. "Well we haven't really gotten much finished yet in the way of constructing the overall frame for the ship itself. However, we've got plenty of work done towards the reactors. We can drop by them both and while we're done there I can give them the message to start on those upgrade packages for the sensors and the like since extra funding came in."

She was following and looking at what there was, the frame of the ship was... well she was so used to ships built like the republic or fighting imperial with sharp edges, the roundness was almost alien. Even the silver jedi's few ships they controlled were simple and more like straps then shapes. She wondered what it might do if used as a shield to obscure a small area from viewscreens or sight. THe nightshadow they were getting was great for sensors but few seemed to care for visual range. "Are there any blindspots in sections you'd recommend covering? Or ports? We don't want to leave a two meter hole someone can use to blow the ship up."

[member="Ayumi Pallopides"]

Camellia just snickered at the mention of the fatal weakness of a particular historic super weapon as she gazed over the partially completed construction of the Silver Jedi's Will of the Force. In all honesty the design was something that Rendili Stardrive's CEO admired greatly. An old design, but an effective one and a great symbol of the Old Republic's power and authority. "With the advanced sensors we'll be establishing and the number of ports and optics we'll be installing around the ship things shouldn't be a problem. The Holo-Bridge will display a live representation of the battlefield as well as having a partial view of everything so blindspots aren't going to be much of a problem. There won't be any holes either, at least once its finished. In fact with the Nightshadow covering too the ship would be perfect for hiding a fleet from the enemy. Park them behind the Inexpugnable in a powered down state and have the Command ship cut off line of sight and sensors. Then when the enemy gets close enough to notice a lack of stars in the background of space in a certain spot the fleet can power up and come around the Inexpugnable for an ambush."

Now that was an idea... Ayumi grinned at that thought of using an old maneuver... something other captains had used... Though they did it with damaged star destroyers and the underside hull that was stronger. She did like the sounds of the display though, the more they could see the harder it would be to move in and get at them at least in theory. She had a few thoughts about what to upgrade and enhance their stations into so they would be able to keep up which was the main part as well. The ship was going to need something... Not a new system. It needed something special though for their benefactor and her company that have built it. "That sounds perfect, though now with all these ideas I am thinking about getting an image of you painted with oil for the interior for all to see who built this grand ship."

[member="Ayumi Pallopides"]

An image of herself aboard the vessel? Now Camellia knew she was full of an ego when she felt herself become excited at that thought. In her mind the ship the Silver Jedi would be getting would be nigh impregnable, indestructible, undefeatable, and her image on board as a reminder down the generations who had spearheaded the construction of the command ship made her shiver with delight. However, she refused to say anything because the amount of hubris she felt was embarrassing, but at the same time she wanted it enough not to refuse. . . .which embarrassed her even more. "W-well Rendili Stardrive doesn't know many good artists sadly, though if you ever find someone with the talent the Silver Jedi can decorate it as they see fit when its in their possession. Speaking of was there anything else or shall I double check quick to make sure that we have the go ahead to begin system enhancements?"

"Oh we have plenty of artisen's on Cazador, an entire continent dedicated to purely making artworks and pictures. They sell to the religious ones and are paid to make trophies for the sons of the war god. IT is all very fun on the planet but they have a great attention to detail and access to metals for making hyperdrives. Never know what the Silver jedi might decorate the ship they are jedi and notorious for not making display's they'll leave that to the ones who do more on the ship. With some homely touches, maybe a waterbed in the captain's quarters and fishtank we could make the line between corporate and private sector blend. The talents of Rendili with leather cushioned seats the crew can sit in and enjoy coming to their shifts."

[member="Ayumi Pallopides"]

Now that was certainly an image for a wonder of naval command, but then it was also for a faction not too fond of military action so maybe it wasn't all that bad of an idea to allow a level of comfort for the crew aboard it. However, at the same time since it was going to be the most amazing battleship in existence, Camellia was afraid to clear off on that. It might lead to its crew becoming complacent or that it was a cushy job instead of appreciating how advanced the vessel was and just how important it could and would be to the defense of the Silver Jedi's territory. Then again, since it was likely to be a highly secretive ship considering its importance and stealth coating, only a crew the Silver Jedi would deem qualified and loyal enough to be aboard and run it would be there.

So with that in mind it was hopefully safe to assume that even should they have comfort they would keep on task. Plus a crew that trusted probably deserved it with what they had been through and could likely go through in the future. "Sounds relatively fancy. Not sure what my opinion is really, but what the Silver Jedi do about the quality of living aboard the ship is not part of the contract with Rendili. Everything else concerning us seem ok then so far?"

"It seems more then okay." Ayumi was happy with it, she was more then certain the Silver jedi's grandmaster would be happy with it. Since no one was going to be in direct command of the ship instead it would be the one overseeing and protecting she didn't see any problem trying to give some comfort. "We'll just have to see o everything and with all of this, going before the grandmaster and council will be easier. They are pretty laid back ones after all their campaigns under Selena and the Republic." She was fiddling with the datapad to get the best view and results going over their inventory and plans for the ships no important systems.

[member="Ayumi Pallopides"]

Nodding to that, Rendili Stardrive's CEO wasn't sure where else to go with the conversation. "Well with the sensors and communication suites supporting it, the enhanced Battle Analysis Computer should be able to immediately react and respond to data it receives from the Silver Jedi's satellite arrays and any ships linked to its system. It will be like having a top class naval commander present ready to deal with any trouble that pops up within the Silver Jedi's space.So they can keep being laid back with all the work we've put into this, though it was an expensive project to keep laid back" Giggling Camellia turned on her heel to lightly peck Ayumi's cheek as a surprise feeling a little high on excitement.

"I guess that's that then, systems are a go for this part of the project?"
