BACKGROUNDTrade, aside from light taxation, is generally unregulated in the Techno Union. As far as commerce between Techno Union worlds goes, Ukio represents the most prominent exporter of foodstuffs in its sector and even the Union itself. Considering only a few of the Techno Union’s worlds are lush enough to be viable for agriculture, it’s a rather lucrative trade for the Ukians. The planet prospered immensely from sales to neighboring planets, but good things never last terribly long these days.
Recently, an influx of much cheaper grain from Naboo flooded the Techno Union’s markets. This sudden shift to Naboo grain over that of Ukio had some profoundly negative effects on Ukio’s economy. Fortunes were lost; investments destroyed. And the rumbling of discontent from Ukio and the affects on the rest of the Techno Union quickly reached the Executive Council. Sufficiently annoyed, the Techno Union decided it would take this little slight from the Naboo more personally. Although the world was promised to the Vitae Alliance, whatever disciplinary actions they decided to doll out, if any at all, would not be severe enough to send a lasting message.
And nothing really sends a lasting message like a decisive military occupation, does it?
OBJECTIVE A
In order to bring the Naboo to heel, their leadership must be replaced. While the droid armies of the Techno Union secure the capitol city of Theed, the transition of the acting monarch from power and the instilling of her replacement will be facilitated by Techno Union officials. Some security officers and citizens may seek to resist, but they will be dealt with. The Royal Palace has already been captured and secured.
Normally Naboo’s monarchs are elected by popular vote, but by order of the Techno Union, elections have been indefinitely suspended. A new Queen, [member="Andromeda Versai"], has been selected as the best possible replacement for the current queen of Naboo. The Naboo nobles will be called to the Theed Royal Palace to sign the treaty recognizing Queen Andromeda Versai as the new authority of the Naboo.
If the nobility fail to comply, they will be executed, and their heirs asked to sign instead. Executions will proceed until the document is signed by a member of their house or there are no more members of the house left alive to sign it.
OBJECTIVE B
Despite the element of surprise behind the Techno Union, the inhabitants of Theed managed to get a distress signal out to their Gungan allies. As we speak, the Gungan Grand Army is marching across the Great Grass Plains in a bid to liberate Theed. They are joined by an unlikely assortment of misfits, but more noticeably- Yuuzhan-Vong. These same Yuuzhan-Vong are either related to or part of the same radical sect that formed after the Techno Union deported many of them from Rodia.
To combat this insipid threat, a task force of droids and mercenaries have been dispatched. They will meet the Gungans on the field of battle and destroy them. Expect to encounter Yuuzhan-Vong warriors and other Vongformed monstrosities among the enemy ranks. Approach them with particular caution.
This “Grand Army” and their allies represents the entire fighting force of the most powerful Gungan Clans. As such, a simple victory will not suffice. Routing the majority of the army and leaving them to fight another day will not be sufficient for the Techno Union's overarching plans. In order to break the resolve of the Gungans and pacify whatever qualms they have about living under the Techno Union, the Gungan Grand Army and their Vong cohorts must be slain to the last.
In other words, wipe them out. All of them.
HOW OPEN IS THIS DOMINION
Objective A will only be open to Techno Union officials or those with sufficient reason to be involved. If you think you have sufficient reason to be there, PM me, but don't expect to get in.
Objective B will be open to mercenaries who want to fight for the Techno Union and those who want to join the Gungans and their unlikely Vong allies. PM any of the Techno Union's faction admins (me, [member="Raziel"], [member="Darell Irani"]) if you wish to participate in that objective on either side.
If you are approved to join this thread at one objective, do not show up at another or outside of that objective.
