The things I do for Knowledge.

Vulpesen let out a small growl as he exited his ship, flanked by a crew of four men. These officers were some of Vulpesen's most trusted men and for once, he was happy to see that Ace was staying far behind for this mission. Maybe some day he would get the wolf a rebreather mask. Today was not that day. "Everyone stay on your guard, I'd rather not have any of us getting picked off or screaming like a maniac once we reach our target." The last comment was referring to the nature of his Quarry. The Rhak-skuri was a sith spawn creature known fr the powerful hallucinogenic pheromones that it emitted. It was this deceivingly dangerous nature that made it possibly one of Vulpesen's most dangerous targets in the animal world. All it took was one crack in his mask and the proud beast hunter would become a sniveling wreck. It was much better to keep himself and his crew clean when it came to this creature's natural defense.

As he walked along the ground of Upekzar, Vulpesen found himself taking off the blue hood of his shadow fox armor. His destination was the circle of visions. After all, what better place to look for sith spawn than a dark side Nexus? Without a sith, he was fairly confident in his ability to avoid falling to the darkside. So all he had t do was find the Rhak Suri. Capture the Rhak Suri. Don't let it die... and one other thing, what was it? Oh right, avoid dying!

"Sir, we'll be arriving at the Caverns in a few minutes. Shall we put on our masks?" Vulpesen looked over to the man wh had chosen to speak, He could already feel the dark side rolling off of this place, and if he was right, that meant they were getting even closer to their quarry. A quarry that he would not want to be caught fighting without the prtection of the masks.

"Sounds like a good idea to me, everyone mask up!" Several moments later each man had a rebreather strapped to his face and Vulpesen had turned on the same function in his now iconic fox mask. He had never faught with this armor before, and this was as good a time as any to break it out. He may not be fighting a sith right now, but a powerful sith spawn culd easily do the trick.

Further down the path, Vulpesen eventually found himself at the entrance of a cavern. Around him, the darkside swirled in a hazy mist sensable only to him. The men around him shuffled uneasily as they loked around the area, casting glances at their leader who seemed to shiver. He hadn't felt this way since Korriban and he had not been eager to experience it again. "Stay around the group, but keep yourselves spead apart. I don't want to lose my entire team in one sweep got it?" The men nodded and reached back to pull out their weapons. Mostly stun guns and high powered batons. He didn't want to kill the creature only capture it and a collection of big blasters might not be the best idea for such a course. He wasn't quite ready to enter yet, but he would be soon.

After seeing that the men were situated, Vulpesen knelt on the ground, using his fingers to draw several patterns. The first of these patters was an oblong circle. "Alright, when we find the Rhak Suri, I'll approach first. Cover me with small shot, nothing that will make you its focus. Basically, I want to get it out in the open for us to handle it from all sides." He drew an X in front of the ellipses and fur dashes around it, making a circle. "Since I'll be using my saber and the force, I'll be closer than all of you. However, I still want a steady fire of stun bolts. By the time we're done, the only movement I want from that thing is a pulse and a breath." He looked around, checking to make sure that each man understood what was going on. After a few questions and words of understanding, Vulpesen lifted himself to his feet before finally making his way to the entrance.

As they entered the cave, Vulpesen could feel a wave of unease wash over his men. Of course, he could easily understand it as he was having similar feelings. In fact, his were far worse as he possessed the force and was sensing the taint of the area while his men were simply afraid. However, no matter how much he might understand it, he couldn't risk these men running in battle. He needed to rely on them as they relied on him. "We'll be fine boys. Just stick to the plan and we'll be home drinking in a cantina in no time." He felt them start to calm at his assurance. Feeling that they were getting close, he opened himself to the force and extended his awareness to the land around him, searching for what he needed.

As his presence moved around the cave, he fund himself seeing very little life, the smallest flickers here and there but for the most part this place was barren. He was starting to think that he wouldn't find what he was looking for. Maybe they died out. Maybe they were rarer than he thought or were simply that good at hiding. Just as he was getting frustrated, a dark presence lit up his senses. "Arm yourselves." Finally, they had found it. Making a quick turn, Vulpesen followed his senses to the beast.

As he followed is senses, he found himself getting jittery. He'd tamed rancors and Akk dogs, but something like this was completely different. The force wouldn't work on this one. This capture had to come from his mind and what weapons he had. It was both enlightening and sobering. Then again, perhaps he could do something to the creature's mi- his musings were interrupted by a loud skittering sound. "Split up and watch each other's backs!" His eyes scanned the cavern and he pulled his saber from his side. "Where are y-" A scream to his right. One of his officers was running for their life from the massive creature and its pincer bearing tails. Leaping forward, Vulpesen ignited his blades, snapping each ne to defend against the natural weapons. "Behold gentlemen." He spoke as he deflected attack after attack, "The Rhak-Skuri. Capable of causing illusions, pincer bearing tails and two meters of pure darkside death." He watched as it stopped the attack to prepare its next assault while glaring at him. "Isn't she a beauty." He poked at it with a saber and... it was attacked him again. "She's angry! She's angry!"

The creature let out a screech of anger as Vulpesen nimbly leaped away, doing his best to keep it in place with a steady stream of attacks as his men surrounded it. Again and again it lashed out, occasionally clipping members of the team. Once the Rhak-Skuri was placed in the center of the cavern, Vulpesen finally lifted his hand and shouted. "NOW!" All at once, four high powered blasters launched at the beast, followed by several streaks of golden lightning which launched at its chest. Naturally, the creature flailed, its tails narrowly missing a few men and giving one a shock as it tapped his mask. However, they continued their fire, refusing to relent as they stunned it into submission with shot after shot.

Slowly but surely, the creature started to collapse on the ground. Of course he wouldn't kill it and he regretted causing it pain, but he had a job to do. More lightning lanced from his fingers, draining the Rhak-Skuri of its will as it slowly found its limbs unable to move. "Almost there boys! Just a little more." He stepped closer and reached up to his shoulder, tapping into a comlink. "Bring around the ship, we've almost got her." He looked up to see a face of sith spawn hate, weakly lashing out at him. "I'm so sorry." With that, he lifted his hand and zapped it into unconsciousness.

After managing to drag the unconscious creature to the end of the cave, the group simply waited for pickup, careful to keep a close eye lest the Rhak-Skuri have a rather angry awakening. Luckily, no such accident occurred by the time that Vulpesen's ship arrived. "Alright boys, load her up in the back, should be a force cage waiting for ya!" With that, he walked into the front of his ship, headed straight for the cockpit as they loaded the beast into its rightful spot, surrounded by a group of guards wielding several high powered stun blasters. Vulpesen wanted to make for sure that this would be an uneventful ride, hopefully the most excitement he would have was the occasional blaster fire in the back. "The things I do for knowledge."

As his ship moved through hyperspace, Vulpesen's peace was disturbed as one of his officers came up to tap on his shoulder. "What is it?" Please don't be the Rhak skrui, PLEASE don't let it hae gotten out of its cage. Of course such would be his main concern, why wouldn't it be? That damned thing was capable of driving all of them insane, then killing them.

"Sir, our contact has dissapeared, all attempts to reach him have failed. By all accounts, it seems he was disappeared from the galaxy, thus leaving our deal null and void." The words were certainly a shock, but nothing that Vulpesen couldn't handle. So what if he was left in the cold with all that work and no reward. It certainly wasn't a waste. In fact, he could already think of one person who could profit off of such a creature. A person who would very much enjoy their own creature to emit pheromones that could be bought and sold for possible high prices.

"Set course for Amar, and send a transmission to Zarro Verres. He's about to have himself a new pet, and hes gonna need to get a new cage." He grinned and rested back in his seat It was good to help out family. Especially when family could possibly weapon sithspawn pheromones to use against... you guessed it, the sith.
