The Titan Grows

Alric Kuhn

Alric stood in front of a small construction site that seemed to be gradually growing in size. He wore a hard hat and his glasses, information scrolling in front of his eyes. A smile grew on his face as he turned about.

He was expecting company of course, company from some of the seedier parts of this part of the galaxy.

They would be one time, he knew that, but there was still a part of him that was impatient. He wanted them to get here sooner, he wanted this business to conclude. He wanted Titan to expand further, to grow, to become something larger than it had been just a few short weeks ago. Of course he had already partially succeeded that with the sale of weapons to the Red Ravens, but now, now they were moving forward.

They were expanding.

Business was booming, and to further use increase that business Alric needed to bring manufacture directly to consumers. He needed to bring Titan out here, and thats what he was doing. Of course there was deals to be made, cooperation to be done, and Alric was more than willing to push them through.

He smiled as he saw his quests approaching.

Colap approached the construction site with a wide smirk on his face. It seemed of late that the Ravens had grown both economically and in notoriousness. He was clad in a dirty white shirt and his black vest, His gunbelt hung low, tucked away was his Westar-35 blaster pistol. Colap scanned both the man and the site, squinting through the haze of his cigar as he walked.

"Greetings from the Ravens buddy. What can we do for you. More importantly, what can you do for us?"

Colap held out his black gloved hand, expecting a handshake from the man....

Alric didn't shy away from shaking the mans hand, there was no need to insult anyone, he was trying to do business after all.

“As I discussed with Mr. Bane in the past. I have an interest in growing Titan Industries beyond the borders of The One Sith, the Red Ravens and the territories that you hold are prime real estate to do just that. As I told Mr. Bane, Titan Industries is well known for producing quality products for the One Sith, including ships like the Dark Blade and the now famed Immortals.” The mention of those vessels should impress anyone, both had become quite famous in the wars against the Republic and the Omega Protectorate.

The Immortals especially had recently made the galactic headlines. A vessel capable of taking on an entire fleet all on its own.

“Titan will do the same for the Red Ravens.” More involvement, more money. That was how the game was played. “We wish to expand and build.”

"I'm partial to that. What kind of products will you be producing?"

Colap had been pumping out vessels and weapons for some time now, in an effort to bolster the Ravens superiority in the region. He had to admit that he was a rather small fish though. Big giant tools of destruction was not his businesses intended demographic. All this time producing machines of war had taken away from time he could've been making parts for smugglers and their ships.

"I have a small operation, one plant on Sanctuary and another somewhere out on Makeb. I'm looking for a contractor to produce Capital ships and some Vehicles. I'll be handling most of the weapons and armor myself, with a few unique possibilities of specialized ship designs."

Colap puffed on his cigar, lost in thought a moment. After his senses returned to him he smiled and continued.

"I'm coming up with a prototype reactor. It's almost finished and when she rolls, she'll pack twice the power of a hypermatter annihilator. Are you interested in Contracting out to place some of em in your future vessels?"

Cryax Bane who had been taking care of some other business in the meeting room aboard the Ravens Galaxy One approached the construction site where Colap and the Titan CEO talked. "Speak of the devil and he shall appear," he said with a smile, spreading his hands. Then he nodded in greeting. "Colap. Mr. Serin." Cryax gestured to his security guards to stand a further distance away so as not to crowd the men. The young Chiss turned to Mr. Serin, straightening his tie.

"I don't want to interrupt, but once you've finished going over the details of Ticon's project. There's a separate project I'd like to discuss with you. It's a fairly big project, but very high profile. Therefore it's one I think you'll be interested in."

“Titan will be returning to its roots. Along with our more Technologically sound products such as our walkers and spacecrafts, we will be returning to the construction of Yuuzhan Vong capital ships. Our research has shown they are more cost efficient, and more feared within the galaxy.” The Yuuzhan Vong still held a certain air about them, and their vessels were some of the most fierce, and least understood, in the galaxy.

Titan Industries wouldn't be turning away from conventional vessels, not at all, but the added benefit of Yuuzhan Vong designs thrown into the mix would be a massive boost to both production and sales. Yuuzhan Vong ships had a fraction of the crew of a normal starship, contained the same firepower, and could heal themselves without the need for a drydock. They made for the perfect long lasting, heavy hitting ships.

Hence why Titan would be producing them.

Alric nodded when Colap continued on, telling him about the reactor. His eyebrows raised slightly as the man mentioned the power output of the reactor.

“Those figures are...Impressive.” To say the least. “I'm sure with more details and collaborative effort Titan can put such things to good use. Capital ships are our specialty after all, we produce the One Siths entire fleet.”

Very good use. Capital ships was what Titan did best after all.

When Bane spoke Alric turned to him. “Of course Mr. Bane.”

Serin had to go and mention the Yuuzhan Vong again and as he listened to conversation play out between Serin and Colap, he clenched and unclenched his fists. Thankfully there was plenty of time to calm down once they had finished, and as Serin turned to face him, Cryax's had a cool, collected smile plastered on his face. "I'm a slicer by trade, Mr. Serin," he said, pacing slowly with his hands pressed together. "So you'll have to forgive me if defense isn't something that I'm completely familiar with. I leave that to our military experts," he glanced over at Colap. "But what I would like to discuss is the possibility of Titan building something for us that could protect our city and our casino from attack from the sky. Something like an energy shield. Or if you have any other ideas about how to fortify our city, I'm all ears."

"As I'm sure you know, an alliance with the One Sith brings some new enemies down on our heads, and we'd merely like to make sure that our citizens are protected." Cryax liked to keep up the facade that the Red Ravens gave a kark about the citizens. And they did in a way. After all, the Dragon Palace Casino was a huge creditmaker for the Ravens. Besides, it was terrible PR for them to admit the truth. That most of them didn't give a damn as long as their casino was still standing.

Alric looked considerate for a few moments.

An energy shield wasn't difficult, planetary shielding was technology as old as the test of time. Titan Industries had rebuilt and recreated the shield generators for Coruscant after the Omega Protectorates attack on The Imperial Palace. Not a difficult thing to do really, creating a planetary shield, unless Cryax was looking for something more powerful, something that would last longer.

“Planetary shields are common place, Titan as well as other companies sell them quite readily, though they are expensive and the power consumption is not negligible.” Alric knew the statistics well. Planetary shields or even shields that cordoned off only a section of a planet required a massive amount of energy, though usually there were back up generators for just that purpose.

Now if Cryax had something else in mind, that would be a different story.

"So make us the shields generators at a discount, and I'll discount you on the Sale of my Isotope-5 Reactors."

The energy was not a problem in Colaps eyes. All they really needed to do was get his reactors up and running and they would provide more than enough power to keep the shields going. they would have to heavily protected however, which meant he'd probably put them in the basement of the casino, with one way in, and one way out.

Then he had another Idea.

"We'd also like to have some Orbital defense platforms installed if possible as well as guns on the ground. The more secure Antecedent becomes, the more the Ravens will flourish and you will flourish from our sales."

"That's what I like to hear," said Bane to both men. "Orbital defense platforms. I love it. Great thinking, Colap. Whatever it takes to keep Antecedent safe, and most specifically the casino." The Chiss paused, furrowed his brow in an exaggerated manner, and with the slickness of a snake oil salesman added, "For the citizens, of course."

The crime boss then took out his Datapad and started typing up a purchasing order. "How many shield generators do we need to purchase? And when can you start installing them?"

Alric nodded.

That would be more than acceptable. Though currently Titan Industries didn't construct any orbital platforms it was entirely possible to refit and refine old GOLAN defense platforms for this planet and others. That wouldn't be an issue. Though perhaps in the future he would have to look into Titan building its own defensive installations, if only to provide more security for his own factories.

His eyes shifted over towards Colap. The reactors would be helpful, and the creation of the defensive shields wouldn't be too much of an issue. Couple that with the new line of ships he was creating and the move to base manufacture out here in Red Raven territory it appeared that everyone stood to profit.

“It won't be an issue.” He paused for a few moments, thinking numbers in his head. “I can't be sure, it depends on how much you want to protect, if it is only the Casino, one should do, two if you would like a back up. As for how soon, it will be simpler once Titan begins manufacturing here within Red Raven territory. We won't need to go through secondary buyers and produce our own components which will allow us faster construction. I would say little more than two weeks.”

That was the truth, Alric didn't need to lie here. Construction would go quickly, and then the production of components would go quickly as well.

Everyone stood to gain.
